Kagari smiled and nodded at Hiroki's newfound understanding.

"Ah, seeing them work so hard makes me want to try my best, too!"

She covered her lips with her left hand as she let out a slight giggle.

"Well, that's for later, I suppose. We should not disturb them. Shall we move along?"

Kagari glanced right at Hiroki.

"I believe you wished to look for any potential studios with musical instruments we could borrow?"

Hiroki nodded. "Yeah. The practice studios should have some, right? Though, I'm not sure if they're reserved for scheduled practice or something." She tilted her head slightly, resisting the urge to scratch it. "This place is so huge, there's so much to learn about how everything works here..."

"I guess what makes more sense is to start from the bottom and work our way up." She combed her hair into place as she talked. "But we are basically in the middle of the building right now. Why not climb up to the rec rooms?" Ringo suggested, pointing to the elevator.

She sighed. "Listen Gun Girl, I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm just a human. I can't compete with your Soviet High Tech Construction. Can we just take the elevator this time around?" Without saying anything further Ringo went over to the elevator and called it down. She gave Gunther a slight push and then got into the elevator herself.

She pressed the elevator button and hummed lightly. But then she noticed how weird Gunther was acting. "hey Shot Gun?" Ringo got in front of Gunther and waved in her face. "Everything cool? You need to catch some fresh air or something?" She took a step or two back and pondered. "Wait." Ringo's lips formed into a mischievous smile. "Are you scared of riding elevators or something? You totally are!" She giggled a bit at her own accusation. Just in time the elevator opened to floor 52. "Well here we are Flare Gun, the scary elevator has stopped."

After blinking a bit, Gunther stared at Ringo like she had two heads. "That's crazy. Anyway, it's being in closed cramped spaces that I hate, not fear elevators. Who likes being in a cramped space where you can barely move anyway?" she replied, with a snort. She strode out when the doors opened, without skipping a beat and in no hurry to dawdle in the disgustingly small box.

"Don't worry. We'll have plenty of time to learn the ins and outs of this place." Ruri pulled herself back from the window of the door and looked to the other two. "So, let's get going then. The faster we find instruments, the faster we can explore the rest of the building."

She immediately passed in front of them in sort of a mix between jogging and speed-walking before stopping a few meters down the hall. She looked back at them and with her ahoge waving, she called out to the others. "Come on~♪."

"Oh." She said following after Gunther. "Is it that bad though?" Ringo pondered. "Elevators aren't that cramped. I guess getting on a full train kinda makes you feel like canned food. But don't you like being snug in blankets during the cold winter?" To her, this whole fear of tight spaces thing seemed alien. "Do you also have a problem with crowds?"

"In general, I just don't like the feeling that I can't move easily." Gunther looked for a sign directing them to the bar and followed it. "For some reason, being in tight spaces gives me that feeling. As for blankets, I don't always use them... But when I do, I kick them off ever so often anyway. Crowds applauding at my presence and performances? I'm game anytime; being in a crowd? Nyet. I'd rather be in an elevator."

"Hmmm... But that doesn't make sense, you said it was cold in Russia." She placed her hand under her chin thoughtfully. "If you don't like blankets, can I have all of the ones in our room?" Ringo opened the doors to the bar and went in. "What do you want to drink? I'll have a cola for sure. Imagine how good it must taste with high quality lemon and ice cubes."

"I like the cold," she replied casually, looking the menu over. "I haven't actually been there a lot of times, and when I did go it was when I was still around... Three, maybe, so I don't remember much of Russia other than the cold."

After some thought, she snapped her fingers and decided, "A cookies and cream milk tea. With a little bit of mocha thrown in."

Ringo gave Gunther a bored look. "Can't you think of anything better to drink?" She ordered the drinks anyways and handed Gun her cookies and milk when they arrived. For a while she had no topic of conversation. She thought in silence of what to talk about. "So what's up with your hair?" She asked finally. "Is it dyed? What's your original hair color?"

Kagari smiled as Ruri's hair beckoned them forward, then set off.

The three girls walked on for a while, glancing at all the different studios around: some in use, some unoccupied. Slight vibrations filled the air all throughout the corridor, along with the suppressed sound of various voices.

After a short period of meandering, the girls chanced upon a single, unoccupied studio. The lights in the room were switched off, leaving only the ambient lighting from the corridor to illuminate the interior through the glass window. Inside was a small studio, with a carpeted floor and padded red walls, about the size of an 8-tatami room, with a drum set in the middle of the studio, four guitars of various types lining the wall, as well as several microphone stands. In a cabinet in the corner, facing the door, were a set of wireless microphones. Lining the walls were multiple large speakers, presumably to be hooked up to the instruments.

Kagari took a step back, and read the metal plate on the side of the door: "Practice Studio"

On the door, where there should have been a handle, was instead a scanner that flashed red. Acting on impulse, Kagari took the Staff ID draped around her neck and raised it to the level of the scanner. With a soft beep, the scanner's light turned green, and the door slid open.

Kagari turned to the other two girls, broadcasting a wink. Then she stepped aside and bowed down, making a show of ushering the girls into the room.

((OOC Note: an 8-tatami room is about 3.64 square meters))

"I don't tell you what and how to drink," Gunther said, unfazed. She loved her milk-based drinks and didn't really care what anybody thought of her for it. The stereotype was that Russians loved vodka and nothing but it. On the contrary, and maybe partly because she didn't grow up there at all, she disliked alcoholic drinks. It was bad for her training-- at least, that was what coaches would say-- but she had an insatiable sweet tooth. Anybody who tried to criticize her for it she shut down quickly and without hesitation. In response to Ringo's next question, Gunther answered, after chewing some black pearls, "Dyed. My hair's originally the darkest shade of blue you can find on me now."

Hiroki looked over the guitars on the wall for a moment, then quickly moved over to one. She plucked each of the strings a few times, adjusting the tuning of the instrument slightly to fit her preferences. She looked around for a moment to locate the right cords, and after finding them plugged them into her guitar. She plucked each string to verify her tuning, then played a simple scale before stopping to look at the other girls, unsure if she should continue.

Kagari watched as Hiroki went over to one of the guitars on the wall and played a simple scale.

Kagari herself was unable to play any musical instruments, but...

She strolled over to the cabinet with the microphones and retrieved a simple pink microphone, slotting it into the microphone stand in the center of the room. Twirling around it experimentally several times, her face broke out into a satisfied smile. She brought the mic close to her mouth, then sang the same scale that Hiroki had played, warming up her vocals.

With a wink and a smile, Kagari glanced expectantly at Ruri, silently inviting her to join in the upcoming reverie.

Ruri was at first just going to stand back and watch what the others were doing. After all, she had no real interest in the instruments. Still, it would have been rude to do so. As such, she walked over and picked up an identical microphone from the same cabinet and walked up next to Kagari.

She thought of a song she liked to sing a few lines from to do a vocal warm-up and started with a few lines from it.

"If I were able to stay in slumber forever,

I'd be able to forget this sadness.

There are nights when I wish for that as I fall asleep."

She placed her hand to her chest as she continued to sing into the microphone.

The days faraway we spent together

Are the light and shadow in my memories.

I am still wandering in the labyrinth of my heart."

With that, she cut herself off. "Um-hmm. That sounds good."

Hiroki hummed along with the rhythm as Ruri sang. "Um. I think I know this one?" She was fairly certain she had heard the song before, after hearing it once more here. "Let me fix this." She played with a few knobs on the guitar itself, plucking the guitar repeatedly as the quality of the sound changed from a heavily distorted one to nearly acoustic-sounding. "It sounds like this, right?" She played a couple measures from the chorus, verifying it with the other two.

Kagari closed her eyes and took in the slight sample of Nemurihime that Hiroki and Ruri had given her a taste of. She had to admit, it was not her favorite song, but it was very close.

"Yes, Yukimura-san, that is indeed the song."

She turned to the other two and flashed a smile.

"Shall we?"

Ruri listened to the familiar chorus of Nemuri Hime. "Yep. That's the song."

After hearing Kagari's beckoning, Ruri questioned her while fiddling with the microphone in her hand. "Wait, we're doing Nemuri Hime? If so, I want to start it a capella like Kisaragi Chihaya-san did on her return concert."

Kagari's eyes lit up at the mention of Kisaragi Chihaya.

"Ohhhh I missed the return live, my parents didn't let me go..."

Kagari's eyes became downcast for a bit, then returned to blinking excitedly.

"Well, in any case, I'd love to hear your a capella rendition of the song, Izayoi-san. I am certain it would be a most pleasurable sound. Have you any objections, Yukimura-san?"

"Ooooh." Ringo said a bit idly. She ran out of things to say. Spinning the ice cubes in her cola, she noticed the sound they made clicking together. Click. Click. It reminded her of... A metronome. She tapped her foot to the imaginary beat, imagining the snare the cymbal, everything coming in. Suddenly she had an urge. The urge to play the drums. I haven't played in so long. At home I didn't even practice. I was too focused on dancing.

"Gunbot I'm heading to the practice studios." Ringo grabbed her cola, and drank it all in one go. She practically ran to the elevator, and after pressing the button she shuffled to a beat. What seemed like an eternity passed, and Ringo was finally at the floor of the practice studios. As she was walking past the studios she noticed one of them was occupied by the girls from the elevator earlier that day. And white haired one plays guitar after all...

"Yo." She said as she opened the door, walked in and closed it behind her. "Don't let me interrupt you." Ringo walked past them, she headed to the cabinet and found a bundle of drumsticks. She took two pairs, and sat herself in front of the drum set, making slight adjustments to the positioning of the snare, the plates, and the kick. After she was done, she dropped on of the pairs of sticks, left the other two in her hands and looked at Ruri waiting for her to start.

Lyre nodded and gave a weak "Kay" as she slumped back into one of the corners of the elevator raising her stuffed animal to cover her face and continued the ride in silence . Once the elevator reached its destination and the door opened she spoke again "Umm...I guess I will see you at dinner then. I hope you find what your looking for. If you get done and have time I'll probably be at that bar place or whatever it was. They probably have snacks there or something." she mumbled from behind her cuddle fish, doing her best to not to sound sad.

Arya said nothing. Her mind was made up, and even despite the other girl's obvious disappointment, for once she couldn't let herself be swayed by a bleeding heart... though it was easier said than done.

"I-" The elevator doors opened the moment she did decide to open up. Arya looked back and forth between the massive floor beyond and Lyre. "I'll see about it, alright?" And without anything else, she stepped out of the small cabin, and into the presumably vast reaches of the library's first floor...
