Zen
The movie might have been horrible, but this triples team has proved its mettle Those pansies who complain incessantly and unnecessarily (if and only if they do this, that is...) about weather teams would most likely suffer from acute heart failure if they went up against this one, though XD --- Whimsicott (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Prankster EVs: 255 Def / 255 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Leech Seed (can be switched out for Sleep Powder or Stun Spore if needed) - Taunt - Encore - Tailwind - Ludicolo (M) @ Lum Berry Trait: Rain Dish EVs: 152 Def / 255 SAtk / 96 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Scald - Giga Drain - Ice Beam - Rain Dance - Roserade (M) @ Black Sludge Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 255 Def / 255 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Sludge Bomb - Extrasensory - Weather Ball - Sunny Day - Victreebel (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 255 Atk / 255 Spd Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef) - Leaf Blade - Sucker Punch - Weather Ball - Synthesis - Cacturne (M) @ Focus Sash (depends on matchup, can be other items) Trait: Sand Veil EVs: 255 Atk / 255 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Sucker Punch - Seed Bomb - Sandstorm - Destiny Bond - Jumpluff (M) @ Yache Berry Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 132 Def / 255 SAtk / 96 SDef / 24 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - SolarBeam - Sleep Powder - Rage Powder - Sunny Day --- Basically, a team built to utilize whimsicott's Tailwind as a means of doubling speed, followed by a weather trigger (ludicolo, roserade, jumpluff, cacturne). Then, the opposition can expect a barrage of Weather Balls from victreebel and roserade. Choice of sun, rain, or sand gives them three types of Balls to fling around, too. Otherwise, this triples team pretty much screws any weather-dependent team over since it can jam any weather that the opposition throws at it. Anything in sun/rain that relies on a Sash to survive its hits can be screwed by cacturne, who can also pull a nasty Destiny Bond on them if Tailwind is behind him. Another option you could consider is switching out ludicolo for abomasnow, and flinging ice Weather Balls at the opposition instead of water (would be an unorthodox yet fun method to kill sand teams that rely on Sashes a lot). I'm considering switching jumpluff out for abomasnow, to create a variant of the team where I get hail as another option (abomasnow of choice is as shown). --- Abomasnow (M) @ Chople Berry/Babiri Berry (depends on the matchup) Trait: Snow Warning EVs: 116 Def / 180 SAtk / 36 SDef / 176 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Blizzard - Giga Drain - Shadow Ball - Hidden Power [Fire]

Zen
Oh yes there is, sweetie That volcarona never knew what hit it XD
Maelstrom
Castform needs sandstorm form then. Or does it have one? And sandstorm weatherball is rock type then? I would have thought it would be ground type.

[/quote] Never used a castform, so no idea about that... and the Sandstorm Weather Ball did OHKO a volcarona with one Quiver Dance behind it (with the super effective) - must be Rock. Administrators Ikaru Posted September 28, 2011 Administrators Share Posted September 28, 2011 Yeah, it's a Rock type but shows no difference visually; I don't think Castform changes form in Sandstorm though. EDIT: Nevermind me, the move DOES show a difference. Castform does still stay normal-type, however.
Maelstrom
Has to be rock, because it's this new random thing in gen 5 where bug is resistant to ground attacks for some reason.
Void
Uh, bug has always been resistant to ground? In any case, the move “Sandstorm” is a Rock-type move, so it only makes sense that the SS Weather Ball would be Rock-type and not Ground-type. Maelstrom
Not that I noticed. I remember EQing the poisonous ones into oblivion in the past. And... it kinda makes you wonder what is the real difference between ground and rock. Sand IS just really tiny, worn down rocks/minerals. Administrators Amethyst Posted October 1, 2011 Administrators Share Posted October 1, 2011 Confirming the bug-ground thing. Consider that Scizor's only weakness is fire. In fact... Meanwhile back on topic, Very creative. Very gimmicky. That's its main flaw, though probably. I feel like there are much stronger strategies to use, that would work better in the same amount of set up. Though I have to say, it would make an interesting basis for a character... Maybe I'll fine-tune it and make versions focused for the individual weather types Oho, this does sound like an interesting endeavor... ... what character? o3o
