So after deliberation and discussion at the most recent staff meeting it was decided that the majority was to be heard in some fashion. However there is one problem. It doesn't seem like making Pokemon of the Day exclusively in Rated Random Battles is something we are able to make happen. In turn you now have two options moving forward, please consider both.

Door #1 - We leave Pokemon of the Day as is and it will continue to be in all random battles. (Not Monotype Random Battles though)

Door #2 - We give Pokemon of the Day the Axe. (Not the deodorant)

Unfortunately, yes it is this black and white. Feel free to make your case(s) below.

There seems to be a huge discrepancy with washman's poll and this poll. I highly doubt that all the people who didn't care suddenly feel the urge to keep pokemon of the day. I think it would be best to make this poll public and see who is voting for what to make sure this is as fair as possible. No one should feel "discriminated" for voting one way or another.

The big difference between that poll and this one is Washman offered a more varied level of options. This one is more black and white and only leaves room for one of two possibilities. Making the votes public doesn't make a huge difference here.

I'm unable to change that even now if I wanted to.

It seems fishy that the only argument for keeping it is "meh, keep it" and yet the vote is a 50/50 (although it is certainly not out of the realm of possibilities). From my past experiences, making a poll public does changes it a lot( i.e [Public] http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9638 vs [Private] http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9506). I agree that there were more varied options but I don't think it could possibly justify the huge discrepancy. Either way, just like the poll for finalizing wifi clause was in a public vote so should this decision to find out if people actually want pokemon of the day that badly. It seems to be the fairer option. I personally don't have strong opinions about either just merely pointing out that maybe the poll should also be retaken as public to validate the results.

Making it public only forces the ones who support the option without serious arguments to back it up, to not vote. Of course it is easier for the ones who support the other side to make a decision, but the voters might feel discriminated and this is something that should be avoided.

Just because no serious argument has been posted here doesn't mean the people that have voted for it to stay don't have a reason. But if one needs to be posted, I think I can deliver:

It's freaking RanBats! The vast majority of people that play Random Battles do it for the heck of it or like me, when you're tired playing seriously and just want some random fun, where you don't worry about winning or losing since it's a "tier" that can leave you doomed before Turn 1. I don't know about you, but I don't know a whole lot of people that take RanBats super seriously, I haven't seen anyone do "Road To Top Ten: Oras RanBats". It's something you just play for fun, to relax and not care about the outcome.

All the PotD does is, instead of giving you 6 random things, you get 1 set and 5 random things, it's still almost all up to luck, just to a little lower degree.

I also don't know anyone that goes and play 50 Random Battles at a time, so if you can't look at whatever the day's PotD is, just wait for the next day.

For the sake of the argument, one would say that since it's for 1 day only, it doesn't have that much of an impact that makes it tiring. I acknowledge that, and the fact that some people just want their favorite or a certain pokemon to appear for a day in every battle. In my opinion, this whole thing is going to be forgotten quickly and things will return to their previous pace. Therefore even if the final decision is against it, it will eventually fade out and disappear.

The thing about making the poll private is that there are ways to mess with the data without people or auths knowing. I am not accusing anyone of doing so but if the poll were to be made public then we at least know that there was no tampering or glitches in the poll. No one should feel discriminated for picking a side even if they have no reason to support it (there has never been discrimination or talks about discrimination in the past). As I have already stated, many of the major poll's that were done to finalize things have been made public so should this not as well?

Actually, I think PotD stays until someone else spends 750 rupees. At least that has been the case so far, and it's getting boring.

I play Random Battle regularly in Find Battle, so do other people. It's not necessarily as competitive, but people still use Find Battle regularly. Now there's less reason to do so, and it's less fun.

However, as I said it's fun in Tournaments or once in a while. But every battle with one determined Pokémon gets old very quickly.

Reasons why PotD should stay

  • idk, I have yet to see a reason here. Someone explain please.

Reasons why PotD should be removed

  • Forces a certain mon to always be on a "random battle" squad. That's not random at all. Do not take the random out of a random battle, even if it only effects one pokemon.
  • Going to get stale very quickly.

The reasons of having PotD being removed are very few, but outnumber the reasons why PotD should even stay?
I already cast my vote for Remove, but just gathering the points for both sides, I guess.

I don't see much improvement over the former poll. I'd say read the comments for reasons, but if it's better this way for you then why not?

I don't see how who comments on such things would make much of a difference honestly. The importance portion should specify that just fine.
