[Interest Check]Fate/Reborn

So hey, Sarcy and I have been brainstorming a bit about doing an RP based on the Fate Series. For those who don't know Fate, basically what happens is there's a war for the Holy Grail and seven mages, known as masters, summon the spirits of great heroes, known as servants, from one of seven classes--Archer, Assassin, Berserker, Caster, Lancer, Rider, and Saber--to fight and win the Holy Grail for them.

In this case, the heroic spirits would be characters from other RPs on the site. We're still working on the details, but we need to have a general idea of how many people would be interested before we finalize a few things about how the RP works

If this goes over well, we're certainly interested in running more of these. It's likely it could become something along the lines of a reroll, except without premade characters

I was in two of these that failed kinda hard already lol. So call me skeptical XD. I WOuld love to bring back Nadia though... she was built for Fate Stuff so translating her to other stuff is kinda bloody hard XD. ((also... at least tag this Interest Check or somethin'... it is bugging me lol.))

Also, if you want to make a Fate-style stat sheet for any of your characters from other RPs, feel free. Saves us work.

here, have a template

Character (Original RPer): Which character and who wrote it.

Classes: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Berserker, Caster, Assassin, or Rider. A character can qualify for more than one, but bold which one the character would fall under primarily. (Ex: Gilgamesh could definitely be a Saber or Rider, but Archer fits him the most.)

Alignment: Uses the DnD system of Law vs. Chaos and Good vs. Evil. This is not binding; it's more of a general statement.

Parameters

Strength: The physical power of the servant. All parameters are ranked from E to A, with + and - indicating modified stats somehow. (The wiki will help you.) EX stats are ones that defy classification, like the power of Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon.

Endurance: The ability of the servant to withstand physical punishment.

Agility: Speed and dexterity.

Mana: An estimation of the amount of magical power the servant possesses inherently, as opposed to magical objects or physical strength.

Luck: Self-explanatory.

Phantasm: The overall power of a character's Noble Phantasms. Note that this doesn't need to match the ranking of any individual Phantasm, and can be higher or lower than any. (Ex: if you had lots of weak ones, you might be B-ranked despite having none over D.)

Class Skills: These will vary from class to class. Fill in the ranks of the ones they might possess. They won't have the ones for the classes they are not summoned as.

Personal Skills: Skills that the character will have regardless of class container. See the typemoon wiki for a full list.

Noble Phantasms: Powerful objects or skills that directly relate to the character's legend. They are a big part of defining who a Servant is. King Arthur's Excalibur is an example, but there are other, more abstract ones, such as Herakles having nine lives to symbolize his nine labors.

Oh, whoops, I was too focused on the content of the post and forgot about the rest >_<

And yeah, Sarcy says Fate stuff hasn't gone that great, but we want to try anyways. And I think it will be fun to summon other people's characters to fight for us

I mean I never got to proc some of the awesome stuff my Berserker had. ((That and thinking of new servants... is bloody hard.)) So, I'd be all for it... though I'd prefer to have it nad just tie him to Nadia again. I actually liked the duo... it was... interesting.

I do like the Fate Series stuff, so I'd be all for trying it again etc... ((I mean Clash of Fates for Graterras... is sorta inspired by Fate in some ways. Loosely but in some ways lol.)) SO I am all for giving it another bash etc...

Well, chances are you won't be able to play a master/servant pairing, though that's not finalized. Just, having the servants be more separate from the masters would be more like actual Fate, esp. when it comes to Archers. Not set in stone though

We're thinking of just having a large pool of summon-able heroic spirits and then early on in the RP all the masters will each summon a different one

interesting if y'all need any help with it drop me a line. I'm okay at making servants if not actually doing the RP part.it should be interesting to see who you guys come up with for the servants.

I can tell you now I am not going to be contributing anything from Graterras, or really any of my characters that much. I prefer things of mine stay where they are meant to be, and I am not fond of other people using my characters even in a non-canon sense. ((since it would probably have no bearing on Graterras to any degree etc...)) I just personally don't like my characters being run by other people too much. I know them very well so I would be nit-picky as all hell, and frankly I don't feel comfortable giving up the reins on them. ((Not to mention most Graterras characters are like nigh impossible to make Noble Spirits out of.))

Well, I'm pretty sure we're only planning to use characters of participants in the RP. Meaning that you would be playing your own character as a Servant summoned by another RPer's Master. So in you make a Heroic Spirit stat sheet for your character, that's basically saying you're willing to play that character if they're summoned in the RP

Basically I see this working out as having three ways to participate:

1. Playing just a Master. Almost anyone could do this since these would be original to the RP.

2. Playing just a Servant. These would be just experienced RPers, since they would be exclusively characters from other RPs.

3. Playing a Master and a Servant, but not a Master-Servant pair.
