ok so awhile back- wait no.

ONCE UPON A TIME, (and I mean, a really long time, possibly a year ago) I installed Reborn and damn that game was hard. but I managed to beat Noel yaaay wooo but then bam I certain soMEoNeeEEee *squints* threw my laptop into a friggin' river just like that, no more Reborn for an entire year. I just gave up. I mean there was no point. I watched playthroughs by people like Shofu so I at least am up-to-date with the story. but part of me just wants to play again.

and that's just what I'm gonna do

I remember my in-game team sucked the only good Pokemon I had was a Ninetails with Drought. and that the level-cap is so strict like???? wow. and yeah that's all I remember with the game.

so here I am asking for help with my team.

I already picked my starter, at least.

Mudkip.

and maybe I should have Drought Ninetails in the team again? is a Gardevoir good? should and could I get a Magnezone?

edit:- also what Pokemon should I have stored and well-trained in the PC? :0

help-

Gardevoir and Magnezone are considered to be pretty damn strong, I use both in my main team. however it takes a whie until you can get those.

Magneton to Magnezone evolution, for example, is only available AFTER Noel.

I recommend that later in the game you get Noivern... DON'T try to train up a Noibat from the beginning... that thing is horrible... you can get a rather High-Level Noibat later in the game and, when you have the means (Lucky Egg / Exp.Share) you can easily train it into Noivern without the frustration of it fainting every damn battle...

But these are only a few... there a many Pokemon that shine, you would have not expected.

it may not be required to beat the Gyms, it is a great help to train (grind) up many different Pokemon that counter the current Gym you are at.

You need to be flexible, this game is not like the Nintendo games where you can use the first 6 Pokemon you catch and rush through the game.

Let's say you are at Noel again... I know I had immense trouble with him back in Episode 13.

Now I don't know if he had any team changes until then but I got so frustrated that I had to train up Magnemite and Aron because of their Bulkyness.

The leaders try to outsmart their weaknesses everyway possible.

You go in on Noel with a bunch of Fighting-types... you are screwed - His Porygon-Z and Girafarig know Psychic with a very high SP.Atk stat... and his Wigglytuff know Moonblast (If I'm not mistaken), His Swellow is a pain with Flame Orb and Facade... and Staraptor has Close Combat for those bulky tanks (It almost one shot my Aggron with maximized defense! It only hung on with sturdy...)

But for a "main-team" Swampert (Mudkip), Ninetales with Drought, Magnezone and Gardevoir are a very good start.

wait really? but I just checked and shofu had Magnezone when battling Noel-

and I think you can get Gardevoir in the first town-

aaalright! noted. it's the place with that train track puzzle thing right? where you can get Noibat? if memory serves me right that is.

yes, I am aware of that. every gym leader manages to OHKO most of my Pokemon most of the time- and I remember the when battling Poison gym leader (the one that committed suicide I don't remember names okay-) I had a Psychic type but it wouldn't listen to me I had to go back and buy that level degrader candy thing. you bet it was frustrating.

so that's his strategy- I remember using Ninetails to just burn the field and pray to the gods that I'd get lucky honestly I have no idea how I managed.

ah okay! that means 4 slots filled. thank you for the help, I appreciate it immensely.

Well I don't know about Shofu... but to evolve Magneton you need access to the back of Shades Gym, which is locked and you can get the key after Noel. He might have used an earlier episode back then.

you can get Ralts in Reborn City... but it has been pushed back in availability in Episode 13... it is available when you get to the train-trakc puzzle. There is an event Item hidden... and then you need another Item for said item to obtain Ralts.

If you are an explorer that checks every nook and cranny you can get the second item relatively early... if not you can buy this item later... much later in 7th Street.

But there are already some topics about how to obtain Ralts.

Noibat you can obtain with level 5 under these bridges leading to the Train-tracks... but as I said it is pointless to use such a low level Noibat... at the train-track puzzle they should be a higher level, but later you can get some with even higher level if I recall correctly.

SPOILERS

Wait. I am not sure, but don't you need the Yureu key to evolve Magneton? If that's correct, then It's available after Luna now.

Gardevoir is a kickass pokemon. As long as you get the powder you need, you can have it.

Vulpix is now not available so early. So rethink that strategy. There are other fire types you can get early on.

I recommend you invest on the mystery egg from the police.

I'll check those topics later. if it's not too much trouble maybe a link to them maybe?--

you mean that abandoned company?- that's pretty far. at least it's before Noel.

Vulpix is available in that salon? it runs away to an underground place then a high-leveled Klingklang appears. I remember paralyzing it and getting lucky. but it has probably been changed, I assume.
