Greetings are in order

Recommended Posts

Allow me to introduce myself. I don't believe in giving out my given name to anyone I have never met in real life, so instead you all may call me by my pen name, Alexander Graves. I haven't been published yet, but I have been working ceaselessly to finish my first manuscript, and have well over 100 pages written within just 24 hours worth of work.

I recently joined Reborn because a close friend of mine in real life became addicted to the game, and I figured it would give us something to talk about, at the very least. I am, of course, talking about Cara_Moon, who prefers fairy-types. I knew Cara in real life, and all I will say is that there have been numerous times when Cara has helped me through something difficult.

Now then, I prefer a well rounded team over any single type, although I will admit to using Poison, Steel, and Dark types more often than any other. I will try to be on here when I am not writing and my night job hasn't left me devoid of coherent thoughts.

I do intend to play Reborn, I merely forgot to say so. Forgive me for that.

My main passion in life is my writing, even if I'm not the greatest at it. I enjoy creating worlds and unfolding epic events for others to read. I am very self conscious about my work, which is why I have never gotten published before, but I am planning on changing that. You see, there are so few LGBT Fantasy/Mystery novels that focus more on the story than the main character getting it on. It's truly a shame for me to even think of the times when I would start to read a book, only to find that the plot takes a back burner halfway through so that the main characters can hook up and have a cozy little life where problems are manufactured just to push things along.

Sorry, I tend to be a bit ... obsessive over my work. I've driven poor Cara nuts over the past three weeks since I have undertaken my dream. In fact, she will probably say just how much of a rambling, long winded bush beater I am. Bush beater in the literary sense, not the innuendo sense.

Hopefully I can make some friends who can give me some pointers from time to time.

And if you want to read my work, star-kin, then you have but to ask. I am still in the creation/revision phase, so I haven't even gotten an editor yet, but that will change once I finish the first/second draft. I tend to do my revisions the day after I have written a part. It costs me several pages of work, but I like the over all flow better once I finish.

And for the record, I generally type/talk like this.

Check out the Creative Writing forum. That would be a great resource to get some feedback on your work. Anyway, looks like your English is correct enough that you may not need an editor. Reach out and ask if you need one. You'll find reception.

Anyway, welcome! Enjoy your time here!

Welcome! ^^

but I have been working ceaselessly to finish my first manuscript, and have well over 100 pages written within just 24 hours worth of work.

..... As a fellow writer, I am so jellysickle right now. 100 pages within 24 hours...

Well, that means you'll have to rewrite it about 5 times atleast before sending it to an editor. I guarantee it.

I am actually revising it as I write it. I stop for a day after 8 hours, sleep, and then revise what I had written before writing more. I've actually had to rewrite about 42 full pages so far.

Sorry about that, Cara seems to have hijacked my laptop, again. She had her own until recently, but now we share mine for the time being, since she hates using my desktop. She complains that she can't lay down in bed with it, so she doesn't want it.

If you were the one writing the pages, why did Cara say she was rewriting them as she wrote them? Wouldn't that mean that you hijacked Cara's account?

Unless you're both one in the same, which is highly probable.

No, we share a laptop and I didn't bother checking to see if she had logged me out or not. She hijacked my computer, as I said earlier.

Ah, I see.

So, wait, you and Cara are both in enough proximity to one another to share the same laptop, and you know about what she does on her bed? Fufu...

We do live together. And the desktop I was letting her use died, so now we are down to just my laptop. Bad thing is that now when I am working on my book, she can't do anything unless I hook my laptop to the TV and put on Netflix or Hulu.

Oh thats fun for friends to live together. I hope you two arent at each others throats. But I assume you two are much more civil then that~?

That depends on if she interrupts me while I am writing or not. I've taken a short hiatus from my book because I haven't been feeling well, but I am getting back to work today after I find something for Cara to use as a computer.
