Randoms2
As for myself, set or go home. I feel like shift cheats you out of any real challenge
ReddestDream
Set. Set all the way! I also don't use healing items in battle. Edited June 11, 2015 by ReddestDream
Chilibunny
Set for difficulty, absolutely. It should always be that way anyway.
Helia
Shift, too lazy to set it to Set. Maybe add a poll?
Exalted
depends normal or nuzlocke if normal would usually go shift but will switch to set if in a mood to sweep some trainers
Foamy
Set. Why should I be given the one-sided ability to pre-emptively switch into a counterpick for my opponent's upcoming Pokémon? How is that fair for the opponent at all?

Lord Drakyle
if by Set you mean don't switch out then yes I am a Set type of person, I setup my pokemon with moves giving them the ede to fight against weaknesses as well as stab from their own type matchup. Commander
I generally play on Shift tbh. I feel Set would be more fair, but then I'd have to grind my mons up to higher levels than 1 or 2 levels below the weakest, use healing items more, and build better sets/breed. Shift is just more convenient and lets me get stuff done faster and create interesting challenges. Set is certainly more difficult, but I never cared to change it because trainer grinding is even more of a pain.
Rezilia
Since I manipulate the situation, I have to shift. Using set just makes switching moves totally haxor and ruins any chance of strategy.

I beat Ciel with a team of Level 67 'mons, and I don't use Shift or any healing items at all. It's definitely not implausible. hummm a very good point but you may have forgotten that many NPCs love to lance out their strategies how is that fair then "Lance out their strategies?" I'm afraid I don't understand this phrasing.
ShadowStar
I prefer Set. Most of my Pokemon have good coverage anyways~
Myst
Set. It feels more natural.
ShadowStar
Set. It feels more natural. Yeah it's like, I'm not Raven, it's not the future I can see.
Zane0144
I like to play with both. I mostly use shift when grinding, or just fighting normal trainers because it's more convenient, but I use set when fighting the important battles, like the gym leaders.
