BlackMage
Ok so I just got my starter pokemon Froakie and it's already level 14 :3. I want some suggestions for good early-game pokemon. I plan on catching a Noibat since it evolves into a pretty decent pokemon and Trubbish for the Pulse Tangrowth. Any other choices? Thanks in advance. CrazySheriff
I wouldnt take the Noibat, you can catch it later on lvl 35 or so when its close to evolving. I always make a early team from the event pokemon I encounter in the city. For the first gym I had Grovyle(starter),Pansear,Gulpin(amazing guy),Blitzle(lvl 15 event) and Espurr. ShadowStar
Well as you may have heard, Trubbish and Krickitune are the early game gods. Makuhta goes in as well. Mareep is found after 2nd gym. Same with Bunnelby.
primrose
i'd personally recommend an intimidate ekans -- you can catch one in the grass right outside the grand hall, particularly at night. arbok gets to be a great help, especially a little later once you get to places like beryl ward and apophyll academy. make sure you keep glare as a move too, since paralysis is very helpful. hyper cutter kricketot/kricketune is pretty much the early-game must, if you want to sweep through your opponents easily. volt absorb pachirisu or lightning rod goldeen are also pretty helpful against Julia, for obvious reasons. and honestly, i wouldn't recommend getting noibat this early, as it's virtually dead weight until it evolves (the level caps only allowing you to do so once you get past Kiki, iirc). leavanny's also available pretty early, since you can get a sewaddle by jasper ward, and swinub/cubchoo/event smoochum in the cave by shade's gym once you have rock smash (received under the grand staircase iirc). pyrromanis
Grimer was my MVP in my 1st reborn run! Its bulk is respectable and its poison gas is really helpful in many double battles since it poisons both opponents. The bad thing is that is outclassed from other poison types that become available around the WastelandThe early event Numel after you defeat Julia is stupidily good!!! It gets very strong STABs really early and can destroy many of the fields with Lava Plume and Earthquake. It helps a lot with Florinia, Tangrowths are a joke, Corey wants to suicide as soon as he sees it, Shelly goes and cry in the corner when you burn her forest and smash her bugs under Rock Slide and his multi target hit moves make most double battle much easier.Mareep is one of the bulkiest electric types you can find alongside with pachirisu. Both can support the team spreading paralisis and tank like a boss! However Pachi becomes less good around mid game while Ampharos can still go on with the rest of the team.Kricketune with Technitian and Fury Cutter cuts the whole early game like a hot knife in a butter . Tangrowths are not even a threat and Julia with Rini can be 6-0ed if you don't miss a Fury CutterMale Meowstic with prankster is the best supporter for the early game. Priority Double Screens and Charm is one of the most common strategy for the hard boss battles.I'll advice you not to catch an early game Noibat. It's really bad until it evolves at 48 and it's a pain in the *ss to grind at that level from the start. Better catch a high level in the railnet later, it would bee much easier to grind it at that level

Sharu
imo Makuhita is must. He is awesome.. Blitzle is fast and helps a lot especially against team meteor with those fields

ShadowStar
Where do I get Meowstic, Blitzle, Numel and Mareep? Mareep is right below Beryl Ward. This is after the 2nd Gym.
There was only one
I'd say you need an early poison type like ekans to help with FERN of course since you chose a water starter chose a charmander tho....my pokemon set right now is undeniably hard to demolish EDIT : Also Noibat is pretty bad in the early metagame Edited June 13, 2015 by There was only one

BlackMage
So many choices :3...so can any1 summarise what my early game team should be? And which should I keep for future as well?
BBD
noibat is no good in the early game, really,it hold you back and it's attack suck defend suck speed well kinda good and really easy to died so not now, maybe catch it the the turnel to crytolia wood(cant remember the name)
ShadowStar
I would do: Froakie (Keep) Trubbish (Until Gym 2) Makuhita (Viable to keep, but you get more options later) Krikitune (Same as Trubbish) Bunnelby (VERY good all the way through) Tangela (Same with Bunnelyby) or Budew (Same as Tangela) Mareep (Same as above) Lilligant has been doing very well for me~
CrazySheriff
Well for early game I would say this could be used(this is to max lvl 30 or so) Starter A poison type(gulpin, trubbish, grimer, ekans with intimidate) Blitzle/Mareep(I think both are good early, mareep excels later with evolution),although many later sack ampharos for magnezone Growlithe(unless you are having a fire type as a starter, but even than it can still help I suppose) Espurr/Meowstic male prankster perhaps? I didnt use that but many did Kricketune with Technitian+furry cutter, well this really rocks early game but tangrowth was "nerfed" so to say,it doesnt have its field now so it really isnt a challenge anymore Perhaps a fighting type like Makuhita,Pancham or sth. I didnt use them but many do.

Well obviously keep your starter in your case it's a froakie..I suggest you should get a decent electric type (acquired later on) cuz PULSE Swalot nearly devastated my team but Ampharos recked em in the end but seriously have a good rotation with your pokemon time to time and catch the pokemon you want and you should be fine... BlackMage
Ok right now I'm at the first gym and I have a lvl 17 Trubbish and lvl 18 Frogadier right now. Is this enough for the first gym? One more question, where can i find Espurr and Growlithe?
ShadowStar
Espurr is behind the Hobo in Peridot. Pay to get by. Growlithe is after the 2nd gym.
BBD
for Groelithe you have to find all 5 cop in Jasper and Beryle ward then go back and talk to the police director.

First of all,you should perhaps check these topics, but warning, they contain spoilers.(and the 2nd link has a lot of pictures, dont load on a mobile!) They might be a tiny bit different because they are not updated from e14 to e15,but most of the things are the same. Simply search for the Pokemon you want. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6802 http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13417 If you dont mind spoilers for the first gym, than press the spoiler She is an electric type user, so Frogadier will be in trouble, unless you have protean and somehow change its type back to pack to avoid supereffective moves. Because of her type,I higly suggest Blitzle. Its on stormy weather outside of the gym. It needs to have the abilities Lighting Rod or Motor Drive,so the electric attacks do nothing. Also Trubbish can be huge if it can survive. Acid spray is great, and toxic spikes are a great addition also. It learns Sludge on lvl 18 which has decent power.I higly suggest having 6 Pokemon just for the stall damage if needed, they dont need to do aynthing worthy just to stall the damage from Poison/or toxic. Actually this is my second time playing Reborn but I used to play it long ago so I thought there might be changes to her team. I just defeated her and reached Obsidia Ward, I appreciate your and other people's help .
