Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted January 21, 2016 Global Mods Share Posted January 21, 2016 Now that I think about it, keeping a save file that doesn't have these relationship values might be just as interesting as starting a new one. Since it wouldn't have the pre-E16 values, it would lead to different totals in the end than if you did get those values, so you might end up with some characters having higher or lower results than you normally would without the impact from previous decisions. Also I'm not going to abandon my adamant nature perfectly EV'd shiny Crobat.

I agree completely... i spent hours hatching the perfect scrafty with 31 speed IV 30 attack IV 0 SpA IV 17 HP IV and 25 in both def. I am not even remotely close to resetting this. i even got him 252 attack speed and 4 hp.... I'll complete the game and then go through it again and suffer in silence. Unless amy is about to tell us "you have to have this character with this much and its not possible except through pre-ep 14 stuff" in which case, LEMME TRADE QQ
bepe
Yeah, I'd assume the minimum and maximum would vary by character as some get a lot more screen time than others. I do find it a bit funny (in a good way) that Fern has one of the highest max relationship values so far. Fern having a high potential value would make sense seeing as he is one of the characters we spend the most time around. He has the same + value potential as Anna, Cain, and Victoria who we see all the time.
Administrators Amethyst Posted January 22, 2016 Author Administrators Share Posted January 22, 2016 I'm not going to do anything too crazily dependent on these values in the main story, so pre-existing save files should certainly all still be playable. This is just sort of a little bonus for the future. Or something. As such, don't get your expectations too high for tons of changes to dialogue and stuff. While I would certainly like to have everything be more tailored to choices and gameplay, that's a solid forty hours of gameplay that would basically need to be rewritten and I'm really not about that at this point, especially given what I just said in the other topic about cutting down on past revisions. Speaking of expectation management, the Titania scene is also really not that different. It was a quick and simple change, I just felt it was worth noting. Work was limited today because I had, well, real work, which is the usual case for Thursdays. Made Grand Hall trainers start appearing pre-1st badge instead of after the 3rd badge, and made some changes to Shelly's Gym to make it a bit easier (read: less dependent on people looking up the answer). Also structured out the new weather reports.

It took me forever to figure out how to do it after not playing the game for so long. Though I'm going to get a kick if someone makes a post saying that the videos don't help them solve the puzzle. And yes, I'm so happy about the Grand Hall trainers. That's like the one thing I really wanted.

sound of silence
Replaying the game from the start once episode 16 is released will be worth it solely for the improved AI alone. I sadistically look forward to cries of rage from players once they realise you can't just torch Shelly's field turn 1 so easily, or sweep Kiki with a swoobat, or constantly out speed Randomus, or anything else that made the game easy. Masquerain
I wonder why Shelly's gym would get easier instead of the chess puzzle which is something that some people still can't do without looking up the solution since many people have 0 knowledge of chess and even with the provided explanations, theyre kind of forced to learn on the go

I'm curious what they'll affect, if they're not hugely dialogue changing. Perhaps Shelly might have a Pokemon named after you at some point(though I'm guessing the coding for THAT would be hell based on name variance)if your points are high enough? Maybe some of them will give you an item or a Pokemon, I dunno there's a lot of small neat things that can happen.
Cobalt996
Restarting in Episode 16, with being a jerk to Fern paying off having consequences? Sign me up... in a long while (still, past halfway is past halfway) ...Am...am I the only person who Shelly's Gym puzzle made sense to? No, you are not alone. I only had trouble from not noticing the exit from her room, and not listening to the techie who tells you about it. The computers make sense, though, if I understand correctly, they didn't always have colour-coding (w/e still just hit a monitor, see what it does)
bepe
Same here, I managed to work the screens out through trial and error, but didn't really know what the goal of the puzzle was until I realized you could go through her room too.
Fumble
I actually didn't understand the colors on the computers, but I just did trial and error and managed to do it somehow. *shrugs* Anyway, yay, grinding before Julia is easier now~
TheSpinyOne
What I don't really understand about this relationship system is how we can actively change our values. As it is, there's not a whole lot of choices we really make that affect main NPCs, dialogue or otherwise. So, how much choice can we actually have to affect their opinion of us? Is side quest completion going to be the main factor? Or how we do in battle against them? I think it'd be cool if team comp had an effect. For example, Julia would like you more if you use electric types.

For example, Julia would like you more if you use electric types. Using the Beryl Ward / Rhodocrine Jungle scenes as an example... If you make a decision in the way the person in question wants, they will like you more (i.e. begging Fern for help). If you do something they don't want, they like you less (i.e. Telling Fern he's a jerk). However, that might raise or lower another person's reputation with you as well, since you are(n't) just egostroking to get out of a difficult situation, should they hear about it. Some of the choices that alter events probably change your reps, as well (like, say... saving the police before fighting Taka and ZEL)

wytch_doctr
Maybe Serra becomes nicer in future events if you don't break her mirror field and endure the hell that is evasion and accuracy and crits. tbh id still break the field
Lupo
I didn't break the field and I still won, on first try even Does that mean Serra will like me more?

Kaneki
I think Shelly's gym is better the way it is. On the other side, the chess gym was quite... tricky. Took me an hour or so with the chess.
The God Fist
I don't really think Shelly's gym needs to get nerfed, it's pretty easy( though I guess I was one of the few people that noticed the monitor coming from her room almost immediately). Genesis
As others have said, I feel like the chess puzzle needs a little tone down, as someone familiar with Chess I was surprised when my solutions didn't work. When looked up the solutions online they didn't really make sense to me
BIGJRA
I disagree with the Chess-puzzle needing a change -- with the hints given by the NPC's and a general understanding of the rules you're playing by, I finished it on the first try without needing to look it up like I did Shelly's.
