did most of opal ward today

However, I am running into the expected problem: with all the rocks and cracks cleaned up the city streets look really bare. Sidewalks and sewer stuff were an attempt to alleviate this for when the rebuild came, but it's not enough. For less laggy areas I might just fill up the streets with people and such-- how it should be-- but I've already trimmed a lot of event tiles from the Opal Ward in particular in an attempt to reduce lag. I can't do too much of that here without going over the soft event limit.

Might end up adding some smaller park-sections to break up the city expanse... but I'm open to other non-event ideas too.

No longer will I be abused by the hood

No more people tryna rob me

No more hustlers tryna hustle me

No more addicts tryna sell me the devil's candy

Started at the bottom, and now...we're slowly becoming reasonable again

And that is just Opal Ward? Looks really good but the question is: how did they manage to clean it like that in the short amount of time they had? With the help of Pokemon? Maybe but then why didn't they do it sooner? The only "change" that occurred was the return of Adrienn (because Team Meteor is still alive and kicking) and only one person is not enough imo.

For the barren streets problem: why not add some Pokemon statues? I don't mean the tiny ones near the Grand Hall but something bigger (like the chess in Radomus Gym?), for example: the city was formed around a Meteor crater right? So maybe some "outer space" Pokemon like Clefairy, Deoxys (or even Arceus). Or like you said just more "green" (trees, flowers, exc..)

I want to say that Team Meteor had already finished up most of their plans in Reborn City and started to head out to the rest of the region. After we found Adrienn, we only returned to the city just to go to a underground cult center in 7th Street. My guess is Adrienn reached out to Ame, Julia and Florinia to start a city wide clean up. Word got out and everyone in the city just started to get to work. Would'nt surprise me if Victoria brought the students from Apophyll to help out as well.

Looks amazing. For filling up the space, maybe have some trees in place of the rocks? That would kinda go with the whole reborn theme. And maybe have some water streams like in Calcenon but with water flowing into the azurine lake? i dunno. just some ideas off the top of my head. not sure how laggy the latter would be, either.

I kind of like the open streets myself.

I take it there are not enough trainers to fill all the space? Several NPC's with their pokemon out would do the job nicely too. Maybe take up one large part of the street with someone who let their wailord out on the pavement for...reasons?

For the open areas of the city I would suggest like someone said to add perhaps trees on the side of it (perhaps on some wide streets like the one leading the center and the train station), and perhaps add some commercial boards next to the shops and selling points. You know, the small ones like in real life, standing in front of coffe shops and such to show if there is a sale/deal going on.

I agree with adding greenery , small gardenish things or flowers to fill space. Or new npcs, because with a restored city, more people would express a desire to move there and stuff. Either way, lookin good!

To those wondering how they managed to rebuild the entire place in "such a short time"... I believe it was said that Reborn has no definitive timeline or time elapse, so in the end, we don't really know how much time passed between events

I was like: Oh my f****** God this is so awesome. This part really looks great, clean, and colorful! I don't see any dullness here since everything looks so vibrant!

New Opal Ward looks awesome.

btw, a question about fly. In E15, we can fly only to places inside Reborn city. Will that change in E16, and let us fly to Ametrine, Calcenon, Apophil...?

iirc fly has not been completely implemented in E15 so yeah, i'd assume we will be able to fly anywhere in the future

I noticed in this image that the door to the lab is completely different from before. The four colours, have they been activated? A hint perhaps??

New Reborn looks like a more Pokemon-friendly version of Old Reborn. Is that Techie Jonathan, with his newest strong pokemon?

For lag, I can only suggest a couple broken up areas, like Obsida (which is already in three pieces) and Peridot having their largest sections further broken down, since those were then main non-Opal maps in Reborn city as far as lag. Of course, if it's not that much worse than it already was, it's not really an issue; I lag from basically everything, but it's livable. Just as long as it's not Crysolia Forest all over again.

If you feel like answering it:

What happens to the Mosswater and Blackstream factories, seeing how they were fronts for increasing pollution... and the former(?) is in ruins?

I like that.

That's what I meant by events. NPCs and trainers have to be event tiles. Too many of them causes lag. There's already a bunch in use from teleports in every direction and lighting effects, so my options are limited. That's off the table as a default strategy.

This is what Fly distribution currently looks like.

Note this does not include anything in the city/apophyll because all of that is being remapped and I can't set up the fly points until the mapping is done.

But, that's also why I had to make Fly unavailable for so long. The old and new cities use completely different maps, but the way Fly works it activates a point once you've been to that location. If it activated for the old city and was available back then, then even once the city was restored, using Fly would have taken you to the old city.... AKA back in time. Therefore I made Fly unavailable until the city was rebuilt so that it would only take the player to the new city when used. It wasn't just for the sake of inconvenience.

Wow the hype is real now! I'm loving the new Opal Ward! Why are those two bridge guard kids still there though?

I'm only doing the mapping right now. Eventing will come later.
