Darth Luffy
Another pokemon that would be interesting for Lin's team would be Zygarde, Lin having a legendary ace would make sense given how scared everyone seems to be of her. And it fits somewhat thematically as Zygarde is supposed to monitor the ecosystem and intervene when the balance becomes distorted... which is pretty much exactly what Meteor is preaching has happened Personally I like the idea of Lin having a team of Hydregion, Metagross, Tyranitor, Gengar, Zygarde, and then either Darkrai or Deoxys(because of their space theme),if you really wanted to make it the ultimate battle then Ame could break the rules a bit and allow Lin to use all of her pokemon's Mega-Evolutions
Administrators Amethyst Posted April 17, 2016 Author Administrators Share Posted April 17, 2016 If 98% of animations are complete, and there are 8 left... then doesn't that mean you've done 392 of them? 40% of that was gathering and editing sound effects for all animations to use The other 60% is the 235 animations for this block. I'm a bit new here, so I'm wondering does the eventing and story take longer then mapping and music updates? regardless, that animation looks beautiful and I can't wait for the next update. Music updates were really quick. Mapping not so much. Eventing is usually not bad but in this episode will be a hot mess and take a while because lol entire city Story is usually decently quick in itself (unless there are story branches) Can we get a quick list of favorites from each of the animators if possible? Be it favorite overall, favorite you worked on, what have you. Also glad to hear you're on the last part of the wards! Beryl seems like a nightmare to do, just with how...much there is, to be frank. I have reviewed way too many animations to pick a favorite but as for the ones I worked on, I really like my Brick Break just because the spinning-strike thing turned out exactly how I'd imagined it. Meteor Mash maybe a close second. Beryl's hardly a nightmare. In fact it's arguably been one of the more fun ones since there's a little more creative liberty with it. The entire west half was basically a blank slate. Unless Ame changed it from when I last heard, it's 19 episodes until the end of the main story (which I believe is the champion battle), but there would be a release afterward for post game content such as gym leader rematches, likely the legendaries, some more character development, etc. I did say that at some point I might do that-- E19 ends the game and then smaller patches over time add post-game content. That's not off the table, but I'm currently leaning towards it coming out all at once. Maybe she's hiding half of her work... Heh. That would be nice, I'd feel less concerned about it taking this long. Do the other projects I'm working on count? Let's say yes. Hiding work it is. Whee. Then again I guess Lin being defeated by a Fairy leader makes sense since she mostly uses Dragon types, I think.. heh, as if. ^~^ Perhaps, but that would mean there's yet another death/ "death" in the game. Unlike the others, this one wouldn't be shown in Shade's gym. Pokemon have wounded people before, so that much can happen without it messing up Shade's insight or prophecy or whatever it should be called. Don't get comfy. whats the plan for the remaining animations? do them all in e17 or spread them over the last 3 episodes The original plan was to do them in three chunks from 16-18. Once the E16 batch is finished, they'll get a head start on the E17 ones. However, the E17 animations won't be included in the E16 release (unless they are also all finished in time...for better or worse.) Secrets and sacrets! Don't shoot me, but somehow I feel that an evil person with a backstory loses a lot of the 'evilness' factor. I mean, does everything have to be explained and humanised? Bad guys are more terrifying if you don't fully know why they do what they do, or if at least they're not humanised to the extent where it becomes another case study for a psychoanalytics class. This somewhat comes down to personal philosophy, but I disagree. Firstly, I don't believe in 'evilness'. No one believes themselves to be evil. Sometimes ruthless, sometimes selfish, sometimes harmful-- yes. But evil is just a word pulled out of fairy tales and ignorance, and blown to its extremes. Whether or not they are explained, bad guys are often very close to human. When you pull the sword from your opponent's chest, it is a mistake not to look into the last light of their eyes and see them for who they are. He may have been a tyrant, he may have killed thousands. He was also a boy who lost both his mother and his childhood to the righteous drunken hand of his father. He learned violence by example and retaliation, and so he carved out for himself-- since no one else would-- a world in which he could truly be safe. The tyrant dies a child still, crying amidst a tantrum that ensnared the lives of a nation. There was no other end for him. It is terrifying not to know why one does things that hurt others. I believe it is more terrifying to learn that some people are so cloaked in fear, envy or lust, that they cannot possibly do anything else. And it is still more terrifying to look into that person's dying eyes, and see yourself reflected in them. #juststarlightthings ...anyway, Beryl. When I was looking at destroyed Beryl's maps trying to figure out what would be built for them, I saw a pattern of bizarre and winding angles in the streets. Although that was originally just to give a maze like quality to its ruins, I though it was interesting and tried to run with it in contrast to the rather uniform roads the rest of the city now has. There's still some loose ends to tie up, but the city's just about there now. Also a moment of silence for all the students living in Beryl who have to walk all the way to the bloody Onyx ward for school each day.

However, on what this thread is supposed to be about, glad to hear the animations are coming along nicely. edit: Fixed, thanks Baz Edited April 17, 2016 by YinYang9705

Ironbound
It's fairly personal philosophy, I agree. I also mentioned how I'd be glad to know more about all the villainous characters. That's might be hypocritical, but I just like this game too much. Beryl looks beautiful, Ame. I especially like that it still seems sombre and quiet despite all the colour and vibrancy. Fitting for cemetery and library location, I suppose. I eagerly await the completion of ep16. Edited April 17, 2016 by Viridescent
Zargerth
I agree with Viri, I'd like to know more of the villains (or antagonists, afaik there is a difference between these two expressions). By the looks of it, there are cards yet to be played, so to speak.
Zane0144
Beryl looks so beautiful! I love it! =) Also, I like how the forest is still there too! Maybe there will be some cool bugs in there. Ironbound
I use the term villains here very loosely. I know that no one really thinks of themselves as evil, unless they're deranged and have an I'm-evil psychosis. I realize that I have used that word rather broadly to refer to Meteor's main crew as a whole, and yes, I know that each one is distinct and none can be written off as a stereotype. In fact, I also realize that the term 'evil' is itself very cliché-ed, but I'm only using it for convenience's sake to refer to the antagonistic characters as a whole. Anyways, the point is that I deeply enjoy Reborn and want to see more. (Pls give more powerful mons for my trophy box pls)
Phi-Bi
I love Beryl Ward even more. The library, the cemetery, and the forest...so peaceful yet still many to explore. Hey Ame can you take Adrienn and come rebuild my hometown as well? You're really good at this. :-) What about the Gothi familly from the library? They didn't get kicked out or anything, ri-right? I feel sorry for the Beryl students. I think they will revolt until you build them a staircase from the wall down to Lapis and another staircase from North Obsidia to Onyx. In fact I will join them. mde2001
Oh! Beryl looks really nice! Great job Ame. In reference to that question about animators saying their favourite move animations, I don't really have a favourite. Nightmare is one of the one's I think I did well on, but there are plenty of moves that I have a love hate relationship with, which I'm really proud of. These include water pulse, water gun and fire blast.
Samalet
did you play or see a playthrough till the end of episode 15 where the main character beats Solaris' garchomp at the vulcano? Tringus
Beryl kids can just take the bus to get to Onyx, like regular school kids. (Then again, stairs would be really nice, so we can get a nice shortcut. Of course, we can also fly now, so stairs would probably be pointless) Why can't Beryl kids just fly like all the other cool kids?
Ironbound
Beryl holds the library though, so they have an edge maybe? Or they could use whatever cars or buses or Tauros or Gogoat or whatever. From a player's point of view, having a staircase would be a really nice shortcut, I agree...if we ever have to walk again when we can simply hop on a POWERFUL STARAPTOR! However, on what this thread is supposed to be about, glad to hear the animations are coming along nicely. edit: Fixed, thanks Baz First, no, technically a tyrant used to define someone who took over power (mainly by use of military): there were quite often tyrants in Ancient Greece, were the term was originated, and often they weren't cruel nor oppressive. Over time pejorative connotation was added, because it isn't uncommon that someone that seeks all power for himself doesn't like anyone to contest that, hence the cruelty. Secondly, never was it stated that his backstory was an excuse, rather an explanation. Demonizing someone who does something horrible creates a false sense of comfort, because you don't see that person as, well, a person, rather a monster unlike yourself. But that hides the reality that, for the same trade, you would be commiting those things. You even might be doing/supporting (some of) those right now, but not realizing it. Because the transition to 'evil' is often just too soft of a slope to notice. And few things are as horrendous as realizing the monster is in the mirror. However, I agree that something that can't be related to at all can be incredibly scary, too. Portal (I&II), Majora's Mask... ...But back to topic. progress looks nice. Glad the waifu battles have settled for a while, too, with the advent of the relation-system you're introducing. P.S. Tomahawk
Hey guys I was just thinking about how cool it would be if we could have houses in the game, which we can buy and rent out, or own a street like in Black 2. It would be cool if you could customise where it is and what is in it and maybe in differing locations the price could be different. Maybe sleep? Just some ideas. Lilleen
Sirius is an odd ball though. He's definitely up to something and might even be on his own side. Perhaps when he called you part of Team Meteor he wasn't trying to cover his and the player's hide, but keep Lin from knowing that this is the player. Like the situations where he tries to kill the player/other people is just too coincidental. He's up to something involving the player. Huh, interesting. I can agree that the cutscene with the player pretending to be a Meteor was indeed strange. Lin did indeed seem suspious about the player, which makes me wonder what would've happened if Saphira hadn't attacked the place with the giant Steelix. Sirius himself is quite mysterious and I hope he gets more attention in the future episodes. Sirius is one of my favorite Meteors, because we don't know why he joined Meteor in the first place (I'm not that good at digging up information, though, so correct me if I'm wrong). I got this feeling that he might not work for Team Meteor because he believes in their ideals, but because he has a plan of his own. ~~ As for the huge ZEL discussing, what I think is that Eve is only helping Team Meteor create new PULSE machines so she can gather more information about her own machine. She didn't know everything her machine could do the first time she created a PULSE, which resulted in what ZEL is today. However, as she builds newer and more powerful PULSE machines, she now has more of an idea of what these machines are capable of. It's a perfect way to hide, as she might know how to seperate the three of them, ~~ What I am curious about is whenever we will ever know why T3RR4 was helping Meteor. She is one of my favorite characters in Reborn, but her character was little explained. We were given a hint though, as her diary did mention a baby Arceus. Hmmmm ... ~~ Fern, Fern, Fern, whatever will you do now? You better be glad Lin wasn't there to see your failure, boy. Will you still help the Meteors now, hm? ~~ I'm still wondering who is the person, that we see in Shade's gym, that will explode or disintegrate? It looks like either Florina or Fern, since the sprite looked to be wearing green clothings. Also, neither Amaria nor Titania (who was also seen inside Shade's gym) has died yet. Maybe they don't have to, since one could say Amaria did "die" when she lost her memories of the player and Titania's diary. ~ So many questions today ... ~

Lilleen
Ah, I love thinking and theorizing. ^^ Yeah, i would be angry if we had to save Fern or something. What I would hate even more is if we would be forced to forgive him or something. I don't know, but Fern seems like the type to beg for mercy when he feel like his life is in danger and that the only person who would be there to help him, is you.
