Your Elite Four

Froiky

Recommended Posts

Here's the scenario. You are the champion. You've beaten each region's league and are now a pokemon master. You are the strongest trainer in the world.

Thus, when an unforseen crisis threatens the world you are the one chosen to deal with it. As champion, though, you need an elite four of your own. This is the question. Who is in your elite four? Are they gym leaders? Are they unique trainers encountered in the games? Who are they and why did you choose them?

Have fun with this.

Hm. If I were to make my own Elite Four, they would consist not as masters of the elements, but battle styles instead. They are unique in the case that they are masters of their own discipline and stick to that one strategy. They are not Gym Leaders, but merely powerful trainers who use their teams to the fullest with a unique style.

Brief synopsis of my Elite Four:

Darvan - Champion and Master of Balance.

Obviously the Champion would be an entire mix of strategy as a safety net and catch-all against just about anything that can be thrown at a team, and like most Pokemom teams, the strength of this team is there's no glaring weakness, although in a dual reapect, there is no glaring strength.

Barrett - Master of the Elements (Weather)

This would be your first guy to face, and he would use a variety of weather teams, most likely Rain or Sun, since those two are the most used and equally useful weathers. His Pokemon would really benefit from the weather in one way or another, ranging from abilities that benefit from weather or moves (like Thunder with 100 accuracy in rain) This guy would have an auto-setter for weather but his biggest weakness would be overreliance on weather.

Sylvia - Master of the Patience (Stall)

This girl would come second in line. Where the other guy relied on weather, this girl relies on stall tactics, recovery, and moves to slowly wear you down, as slow and steady also wins the race, and rushing through to defeat this Elite Four member would prove an untimely premature defeat for most challengers. The downside to this girl is the overreliance on status moves, which Taunt and specific Pokemon or other moves could easily counter

Tori - Master of Brutality (Hyper Offense)

This girl would come third, and serves as a complete opposite to the last Elite Four member where instead of playing the waiting game, this member serves as a mirror to beat the shit out of you and get it over with quickly. Using as many disrupting tactics, attack boosting, and moves with raw power, your team would be cut down real quickly if unprepared. The weakness here is most sweeper Pokemon are frail. Either you'd outspeed or wall out this member.

Joker - Master of Trickery (Trick Room)

Even though this guy would be last in the Elite Four, he'd show you that no single strategy is too farfetched or outlandish. His Pokemon would benefit largely off a Trick Room or have moves and abilities that screw the normality of Trick Room, with stuff like Prankster. This guy's overreliance on Trick Room would be his biggest weakness, especially against Taunt or "outspeed" him with slower Pokemon.

I chose them because no strategy is too bad, and even the weird can overcome and puzzle the opponent.

Hard to actually choose but I did ponder this question a few times. 1st Trainer would most likely be Drayden because he is the wise and ever helpful man in Gen 5. 2nd would be Cynthia, to this day I think GF put the most work into her ai interactions and how tough she was to beat. 3rd would have to be Brendan/May a helpful and compassionate friend throught gen 3. And finally I would have Harmonia (N) the one who told us that our pokemon have feelings about us as well and that we should always cherish the relationship that we create

I honestly think Cynthia is the best champion but...

Member #1; May

Team; Balanced Mono Normal

Ace; Mega Lopunny

May will start off this Elite 4. the E4? Ok not the best explanation but whatever. The first E4 member is never important anyway :^) Like her father, May specializes in Normal type Pokemon.

Member #2; Volkner

Team; Offensive Mono Electric

Ace; Mega Ampharos

I was really tempted to shove Dawn in here just because. However, I'm not that lazy. Volkner's attitude and look is what made him one of my favourite gym leaders. The fact that your battle with him also impacts him and changes him significantly is also why I like him so much. Sure you battle lots of gym leaders and some of them are inspired by your ability to use type advantages effectively, but personally I feel like Volkner has the best interaction with the player in this regard out of all the gym leaders. Volkner is now enthusiastic about Pokemon battling, perhaps the most passionate one on the E4.

Member #3; Wally

Team; Balanced Mono Fairy

Ace; Mega Gardevoir

Wally, the second strongest member of my elite four. I've always been jealous of Wally for being able to run into a Ralts on his first try with a Zigzagoon he just met. The injustice. However, I've always liked him because of his backstory and character development. It's not the best but I find that it's touching. In my Elite 4 Wally is more confident in his ability as a person and as a trainer.

Member #4; Cynthia

Team; Hyper Offensive Mono Dragon

Ace; Mega Garchomp

I'll give you +1 rep if you guessed this would be Cynthia. Yes, I really admire Cynthia. I feel like she's one of the most fleshed out champions not to mention she's fucking gorgeous. Cynthia doesn't really need much character development from her time in DPPt.

Well.... Let's see I'll need trainers who have all kinds of type coverage so...

1.) Alder. Old buddy came out of retirement to protect the future which he truly cares about

2.) Cynthia. She has type coverage down to the T, and the Mega-Garchomp at that

3.) Reformed Lin. (But how can you put Lin? We don't know anything about / what happens to her?) Unless I find out she dies, I'm going to say she found a new found purpose to protecting the world. Due to that Hydreigon f*cking up the overgrown OVERGROWN Steelix, I assume her team is hyper-offensive

4.) Red. Most powerful trainer in Kanto, well deserved spot on the International Elite 4. Has the option to Mega-Evolve whoever he sees fit

This for #1, except in a Chess Room.

#2: Terrain Master (Field Effect expert with a few pokemon that can use any terrain)

#3: Mega Master (uses various all-powerful megas; weak to pokemon that cause powerhousing to backfire)

#4: Wild Card (uses abilities that can alter the battle in crazy ways)

All of these would have advanced AIs, meaning that their pokemon will actually react and strategize based on my actions.

Karen (Former Johto Elite-4 Member - Dark)

The lead-off of my Elite Four is the epitome of how Pokémon -should- be played. Competitive included.

Colress (Black/White 2 Antagonist - Steel/Electric)

Colress is a guy who is neither good nor bad in intent - just was formerly with the wrong crowd in order to further his research. Cool character.

Valerie (Former Kalos Gym Leader - Fairy)

Abraham Lincoln's presidential cabinet had a pretty unique pattern. President Lincoln appointed several -opposing- politicians to his cabinet positions. I -hate- Fairy types, so a good Elite Four in my charge would need a figure to represent them.

Blue (Former Kanto Champion - Mixed)

Blue's stop on my panel is sort of a continued retribution from his fall from his own perch. Also, I'm not -always- a savage, so I need Blue's temperament around. :)

Well, I guess my Elite Four would go something like this...

1) Azazel - Dark-type user

Team: Mandibuzz, Sableye, Bisharp, Krookodile, Hydreigon, Mega Absol

This guy's based on Azazel from The Binding of Issac, and his team is a reference to all the possible final bosses from said game (Madibuzz is Issac's mom, Sableye is It Lives, Bisharp is The Lamb, Krookodile is Issac, Hydreigon is ???, and Mega Absol is Satan/Mega Satan see what I did there)

2) Arin - Bug-type user

Team: Galvantula, Shuckle, Volcorona, Vivillion, Venomoth, Mega Beedrill

This guy is based on the legendary Arin "Egoraptor" Hansen of Game Grumps fame. His ace, Mega Beedrill, is based on his use of a Beedrill for the entire frickin' game during the Game Grumps playthrough of Pokémon Firered.

3) Marie - Ghost-Type user

Team: Shedinja, Aegislash, Chandelure, Trevenant, Chandelure, Mega Gengar

This lady is based off of Marie from Skullgirls. ...I really like Skullgirls, okay?!

4) Sir Prize - Steel-type user

Team: Excadrill, Skarmory, Lucario, Ferrothorn, Magnezone, Mega Aggron

This guy (well, technically, robot) is based off of the puppet from Five Nights at Freddy's, another game I like. ...You can sense a trend here, can't you?

Champion- Drakonia (User of varied types)

Team: Lapras, Torterra, Charizard, Hydreigon, Exploud, Mega Medicham

This lady's based off of a good real-life friend of mine, and her team's more or less ripped straight from her Online Competitive Team.

1. Morty - The easy going, not completely serious first round. One of my favorite leaders of all time, from my favorite region, Johto.

First time through: Drifblim (52), Spiritomb (53), Cofagrigus (52), Golurk (53), Gengar (55)

Second time through: Drifblim (68), Spiritomb (68), Jellicent (69), Trevenant (69), Chandelure (69), Mega Gengar (71)

2. Sabrina - A lovely lady Token Female She's always interested me. Her... independence and being the original, stoic/intimidating gym leader.

First time through: Meowstic (54), Espeon (55), Reuniclus (55), Bronzong (55), Alakazam (58)

Second time through: Espeon (71), Starmie (71), Metagross (72), Malamar (71), Gallade (72), Mega Alakazam (74)

3. Volkner - The gym leader who I believe resembles the person I truly am deep down the most, this one is a personal choice, most don't care for Volkner, but I get the dude.

First time through: Heliolisk (57), Ampharos (58), Luxray (57), Lanturn (57), Electivire (60)

Second time through: Galvantula (74), Jolteon (75), Magnezone (75), Rotom-W (75), Ampharos (74), Mega Electivire (77) [Electric/Fighting]

4. Cyrus - The ultimate evil psychopath, where as the others may be more lax or impartial, Cyrus is something truly twisted and insane on the insane and would be feared.

First time through: Houndoom (59), Honchkrow (61), Crobat (60), Gyarados (60), Weavile (62)

Second time through: Houndoom (77), Honchkrow (79), Crobat (78), Greninja (78), Krookodile (79), Mega Weavile (81) [Tough Claws]

When I first asked this question I was thinking mostly of gym leaders, but I'm so glad to see the creative ways that this experiment has gone. Now then, as with all good questions, it would be unfair for the asker not to answer their own question. Thus, with the way things have gone, I'll answer with both my original answer and my new thoughts taking into account all possibilities.

Original:

·Winona- a young prodigy with her eye on the ball. Winona's a bit serious for her age and shows little mercy. She would provide quick decisive attacks with a variety of high flyers. She's the first only relative to the others.

·Morty- a patient man that knows how make the most of what he has. Kind to anyone he meets, Morty is the voice of conscience of the group willing to take hits for others. He would be strong with afflicting conditions and immobilizing enemies while being elusive. Maybe he's the second in line but he's tricky.

·Blaine- a wizened man able to find a way to cheer the most depressed of people. Lighthearted and energetic, Blaine is a morale booster. In battle however he is a clever old man. He knows battles like the back of his hand and has had time to perfect his strategies. He won't be easy.

·Volkner- as serious as they come he won't stop until the job's done. While he doesn't seem it, Volkner is passionate about Poke'mon and is determined to solve the crisis at hand. As a battler he is a genius. Where Blaine has wisdom stored up Volkner naturally understands battle and his high energy hidden beneath a lax demeanor makes him dangerous as an opponent.

New team in another post.

Obviously my Elite Four would be:

Bianca, Elesa, Professor Juniper, and Skyla... if you know what I mean.

tumblr_m3was92WmM1ro7skx.png

No but for real this time:

Pryce - I hope I look this badass when I'm old.

Aurorus, Avalugg, Lapras, Froslass, Mamoswine, and Mega Abomasnow.

Cheren - Young, full of potential and skill, and using a highly underrated but very strong type.

Stoutland, Cinccino, Staraptor, Porygon-Z, Heliolisk, and Mega Lopunny.

Karen - I can't agree more with the message she sends you, even if the team full of power I've given her doesn't.

Hydreigon, Weavile, Sableye, Houndoom, Honchkrow, and Mega Absol.

Steven - Cool design, cool personality, strong type, generally good pick.

Aggron, Aegislash, Lucario, Excadrill, Escavalier, and Mega Metagross.

Let's. Do. This.

Flint - Best Elite Four member ever. I mean, this guy is the only Elite Four member that actually got some character development and backstory, maybe aside from Marshall, Caitlin, Malva, Lance, Koga and Lorelei. Then again, Flint is best.

Infernape, Magmortar, Chandelure, Darmanitan, Volcarona, Mega Charizard Y.

Cress - Ok, he was the show-off of the three brothers. But also the best and coolest.

Slowbro, Milotic, Crawdaunt, Swampert, Gyarados, Mega Blastoise.

Fern - I can't see your faces from where I'm sitting, but I'm already choking typing this, just imagining the faces of you guys. Yes, Fern. Why? Because no one would ever bother challenging the league anymore.

Ferrothorn, Trevenant, Serperior, Amoonguss, Whimsicott, Mega Venusaur.

Brock - He's going to get rock-hard. No, but seriously, even if it was just for his quotes, Brock is in.

Golem, Rhyperior, Lunatune, Kabutops, Tyrantrum, Mega Tyranitar.

And for the last...the best...

Pineapple - The great overlord of Normal types and champion. Pineapple will destroy your soul. Also, his team is verily interesting. oh hey he has the same name as me what a coincidence

Raticate, Linoone, Bibarel, Stoutland, Diggersby, Mega Lopunny. Don't hate.

My choices are:

1 Caitlin

Already pre-existing elite four, i am gonna steal her from Unova, her cool demeanor is what i like about her, tsundere?

Roster: Mr Mime, Espeon, Gardevoir, Bronzong, Malamar, Mega Gothitelle Mega Alakazam

2 Lt Surge

Elite four should represent different walks of life in my opinion, who best to represent militia other than Lt surge himself?

Roster: Ampharos, Lanturn, Magnezone, Luxray, Eelectross, Mega RaichuMega Manectric

3 Charlotte(Reborn)

Firebug, what else to say?

Roster: Delphox, Magmortar, Ninetales, Talonflame, Heatran, Mega Typhlosion Mega Charizard X

4 Jasmine

Deserves the position not for how Elite Four is portrayed as strength, but also compassion

Roster: Empoleon, Ferrothorn, Aegislash, Skarmory, Lucario, Her Rusty with Mega(Mega Steelix)

5 Barry(Rival) - as a reserve member

Palmer's son will at least accomplish of becoming an Elite Four

Specialty to be determined but i like him to be Water type(ultimately succeeded as Crasher Wake's protege)

Roster: Jellicent, Gyarados, Kingdra, Politoed, Gastrodon, Mega Floatzel Mega Swarmpert
