Avatar of Grima
I was reminded on how much I miss this franchise a bit earlier, I'm really hoping they bring it back. Feel free to talk about memories and ideas, maybe with enough work/ we get someone who can work an rpg creator we can get a reborn ranger type game... Anyways, Shadows was my favorite especially the free online Riolu and Manaphy, that game was just really good for getting things done.
Support Squad Felicity Posted June 17, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted June 17, 2015 The ranger games were fantastic just because they had so much... character. The teams were ridiculous. that made them memorable. The bad guys were interesting, the locales nice and varied. Seriously, one moment you''re in a volcano, the next you're underwater and then POOF desert. Then there was the load of interesting character designs. Still the franchise has room for improvement. More varied permanent partners would be great, and they achieved that with Shadows. You wanna chill with a kricketot? Go for it. But then they took one step back and sacked you with fucking Pichu in the next game. Which couldn't even fight, it just used a fucking UKELELE. The level design was also kind of annoying in that it was always the same. Find X mon to get past X obstacle.
Rezilia
I remember when I was sent to Pokemon Ranger Boot Camp. Ah, those were the days...
Avatar of Grima
Very true, it was repetative and GS had the useless pichu with the Ukele. Minun wasn't useful until you had enough circles, the same with the partners in Shadows. The teams were fantastic the twist with Ranger school was fun too. I just hope we get to return there one day
Another Felix
I only played the first one, but really enjoyed it. Hope to see it possibly make a return.

I suggest picking up Shadows of Almia if you enjoyed the first one. It's got a stronger story and it's a ton of fun like the first one
TRHStatement
Although the games were really fun and had some nice plot, each one had its flaw. 1st one had that Minun/Plusle that was significantly useless and pokemon couldn't leave their natural habitat until you were high enough level. The second one was perfect. And the third one relied waaaayyyyyyy too much on the Gen I & II legends (and don't get me started on Ukulele Pichu). If they remake another ranger game for the 3DS, I'll be there wishing it would awesome like the second ranger game Edited June 17, 2015 by TRHStatement
Myst
Shadows is probably my favorite, but the first having much nostalgia value to it for me. I played all the games, and each had their little perks to them that was fun. Riding on pokemon was very fun before oras.
Fumble
Should this be in Pokemon Fan Club? Anyways, I loved the Ranger series! Shadows of Almia was my favorite, with such unique places in Almia, references to the original game (Go-Rock Quads!), so many partner Pokemon, and cool Dim Sun Admins! I also like the Gigamero and Minimero or however you spell them and the Ranger School! Those Gligar kept hurting me and pushing me down, though, which was the most infuriating part of the game, imo. Shadows of Almia is a wonderful game. It had a great story and wonderful character development. Why is it that the spinoff games (PMD and PR) are so much better than the other Pokemon games? laggless01
Although it would be fun at first glance to have a fan-made game like it, keep in mind that the controls fit for a DS. Trying to rapidly draw circles with your mouse is not as fun as with the stylus (and not as fast either).

Lamona
Casually destroying the thing so called "Coffee Maker" to rescue the whole town from the sand streams of the Hippopotas. Made a shipwreck by crashing a Cargo Ship into the Ranger School. Foiled the Dim Sum(n) plan of capturing Wailord and now they treated a Wailmer as a Wailord Mini. GG. So memorable. Support Squad Felicity Posted June 18, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted June 18, 2015 I imagine Ranger is quite unlikely to happen simply because of how incompatible a 3d model would feel with the loops and whatnot. there'd have to be some changes done to mke it feel right cuz you know they wouldn't go back to 2D, not if they didn't even do that fo mystery dungeon

Rezilia
Physics Quantum Mechanics will actually allow us to do it. All we'd have to do is go into a state of REM sleep and wake up in a simulation where the parts of our brains that handle our senses react to the simulation in a similar manner. Quantum technology can create this simulation and cause our brains to react in that way.

We do have the technology to allow us to immerse ourselves in the games. So why not make a ranger game for a virtual reality console? Support Squad Felicity Posted June 20, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted June 20, 2015 because people are too busy creating porn games for VR. IDK, Rnger just doesn't seem likely. It worked well with the DS but the new age of technology isn't too hospitable to this kind of gae. As I pointed out, a lot of the mecanis were based around flat sprites. with 3d graphics, how will you control the stylus well? PR just doesn't work well in the 3rd dimension

PR just doesn't work well in the 3rd dimension it doesn't necessarily have to be for 3ds. It would be cool if they decided to make it for wii u. The old wii mote would work really well with the mechanics of the stylus. But alas that franchise may be dead

So why not make a ranger game for a virtual reality console? I know. What I just described was how Virtual Reality worked. Unless you're talking about something like the Oculus Rift, which isn't actually VR. True VR is full-immersion to the point that you become unaware of our reality and are completely dependent on the new (the game's) reality. This requires complete sensory immersion and a lack of consciousness in regards to the outside world. This will be obtained through the use of quantum technology during forced REM sleep.
