Avatar of Grima
Seeing as the season just ended this last Monday with the Blackhawks taking home the Stanley Cup, I think it's time we talk about our hopes and dreams for the draft and the future of our favorite teams. So buck up its time to talk about the Good ol' Hockey game
TRHStatement
You took my advice! Hopefully the mods will pin this thread along with the others. I myself know nothing about hockey but except we have one in Dallas (like wtf). Are we any good?

Personally I'm a Devils and Islanders fan but hey. To each his or her or xyr own
Omega_Ra1der
Ahem. ottawa fan here. Sens with a help from a streaky goalie made a 24 points comeback in the standings to clinch the 8th seed. Anyways, since they resigned hammond (streaky goalie) they got to trade either Anderson or Lehner. Personally, trade Lehner because with Hammond future upon and Ottawa history of above average goalies, he deemed to move scene or sit on the bench. They most definitely deserved to play in the playoffs with the way Hammond played. It was a shame that the offense disappeared when Andersen came in, but I see a bright future for them
Deleted User
You took my advice! Hopefully the mods will pin this thread along with the others. I myself know nothing about hockey but except we have one in Dallas (like wtf). Are we any good? I -like- Hockey myself, but I didn't think there'd be enough discussion for a thread to stay relevant here at all. Regardless, I won't be pinning this one for the time being, only when the respective league is in season or draft/FA will I have it up. And, not enough following for that in regards to the NHL. I'd still encourage discussion though.

The team however I'm not a fan of... just spent to many hours with overzealous Wild fans who brag to me about how they were going to sweep the Hawks... I took my abuse in the form of hearing them pronounce Parise. But it's a good thing to see Devan Dubnyk finally do something with his career. He was wasting away in Edmonton
EnragedTurnip
tbh, the Wild were relying way too much on Dub to get past the blues (or just after they picked him up in general), there was no way they were getting past the Hawks... nice to see Calgary finally getting some success too. Very true. Breaking news Ottawa Senators trade Robin Lehner and David Legwand to the Buffalo Sabres for the 21st overall pick in the draft. Deleted User
I honestly don't know what to expect out of the Flyers anymore, they seem to be stuck in mediocrity. I can't really see them getting any better either. :c
Avatar of Grima
Dougie Hamilton has been traded to the Flames for 2 1st round picks. Also completed about 5 minutes after I posted this, Boston trades Milan Lucic to the Los Angeles Kings for the 13th overall pick in the draft and Goalie Martin Jones and Prospect defenseman Collin Miller. This means that Boston now has the 13th, 14th, and 15th picks in the draft that happens in about an hour. Avatar of Grima
Okay so I'm going to just cover the really sparse basics. New York Islanders traded prospect defenseman Griffin Reinhart to the Edmonton Oilers for the 16th overall pick in the draft, which they turned into Centerman Mathew Barzal of the Seattle Thunderbirds (Woot Woot player from my local WHL team). The Oilers also got Goalie Cam Talbot from the Rangers for picks, the Oilers also picked up Eric Gryba formally of the Ottawa Senators. The Rangers also dealt with the Anaheim Ducks to get Emerson Etem and a 2nd round pick for Carl Hagelin. The Ducks also traded Kyle Palmeri to the New Jersey Devils for picks. The Carolina Hurricane traded a pick for Eddie Lack formally of the Vancover Canucks. Not to be out done, the Buffalo Sabres who drafted Jack Eichel, traded for Robin Lehner, and David Legwand from Ottawa, and obtained Jaime McGinn and Ryan O'Reilly from the Colorado Avalanche for picks, Nikita Zadorov, Mikheal Grigarenko and J.T Campher. Now on to the historic news, in the 6th round the New York Islanders selected Andong Song the first Chinese player to be drafted into the NHL. Avatar of Grima
Flyers traded for someone. IDK Completely forgot about that. Sam Ganger for Nicklas Grossman and the contract of Chris Pronger. Thanks for that. So, seeing as the season starts in approximately 25 days, I think it's time to update some on the bigger stories of the off season. Patrick Kane will face a grand jury in Buffalo NY to see if he will be indited on charges of sexual assault. More news from the Hawks, they traded Kris Versteeg, Joakim Nordstrom, and a seventh overall pick in this years draft to the Carolina Hurricanes for, defensive prospects, Dennis Robertson and Jake Massie as well as a fifth overall pick in the draft. Colorado Avalanche obtained defenseman Brandon Gormley, from the Arizona Coyotes for the rights to defenseman Stefan Elliot. The last big one of late was the deal between the Vancouver Canucks and the Pittsburgh Penguins, Nick Bonino, Adam Clendening and a 2nd round pick went to Pittsburgh for Brandon Sutter and a conditional 3rd round pick. I can go and recap the entirety of the trades, but I really don't feel like writing that all, so if you are interested in any of the other news I will link my source. http://www.nhl.com/ice/trades.htm Edited September 15, 2015 by Avatar of Grima
