New Reborn Run Help

Recommended Posts

Had a friend mess around with my computer a little to make it work better and they... Somehow... Deleted... My Reborn game.

So I am taking this chance to download the newest patch, (congratulations developers, for all your hard work and the creation of, and work on, on EP 15!) and move on from there. I definitely don't want to miss out on Reborn shenanigans, after all.

But I'm stuck between a few starters. Snivy, Squirtle, and Fennekin. My struggles mainly come from trying to wrack my brain thinking about possible teams for each of these starters, and drawing a total and colossal blank. So I'm kind of hoping for some help picking between these starters, and seeing what possible teams I could come up with that could go with them? Any suggestions would be awesome!

Both squirtle and fennekin are obtainable through events . I would suggest you to take snivy

Wait, really? I thought it was Bulbasaur who was obtainable through an event... Well then, I guess that does shorten that list down quite a bit, although Fennekin is still really tempting to me. Do you have any ideas for how to use Snivy, or who would go well with them?

Actually, Bulbasaur was axed a while ago. This is the list of starters you can get in the future (in order of what you can get first): Chikorita, Tepig, Squirtle, Cyndaquil, Turtwig, Totodile, and Fennekin. (Might be missing more, though.)

Now, I'd recommend Contrary Leaf Storm Snivy, but Serperior doesn't get Leaf Storm for a while, so that might be a problem.

Oh right... Snivy won't be entirely useless for too long but Serperior's Leaf Storm happens at lvl 38 or so, right? Or is it actually really late, like into the 50's when they learn it?

Contrary Snivy is kind of an awesome thought though.... And it's definitely way tempting...

As someone who quite recently did a run with a Contrary Serperior, I'd recommend starting with Overgrow for the ability to take stat boosts, then switching over to Contrary at level 62, when Serperior learns Leaf Storm (or level 43 if you keep it a Snivy for that long/52 if you keep it a Servine, which may not be bad ideas, though you'll need to rely on pokemon other than your starter through about Serra/Noel). You'll need something to deal with Ice, Fire, and Flying, all types that I struggled with throughout the playthrough. Multiple rock types may be an excellent idea. A fire type may also be a good idea to pick up early, as Grass and Fire are quite complementary.

Best of luck!

I prefer to start with an Overgrow Snivy to utilize Growth or Coil and when the time to learn Leaf Storm comes I change its ability to Contrary

^ this guy knows what he's talking about.

Grab Pansear, Espurr and Kricketot in the beginning of the game. Don't evolve Kricketot until lvl 16 so it can learn Bug Bite.

After 2nd Gym, ditch now evolve Kricketune and grab that Emolga, from there everything will fall into place.

Your team will just fall into place really, just make sure to have a balance team to deal with the Gyms. If you know what u r doing, u won't need to train a specific Poke for just a specific Gym
