Ame's Nuzlocke Continues [Kanto]

[[Having completed the Johto Nuzlocke really easily, I'm being more strict with the rules this time. There is no allowance for the first route with no Pokeballs; the Daycare is not permitted. Towns are not eligible for catching Pokemon with the exception of Gift-Pokemon. If a gift pokemon is received in a wild location, it can be switched/substituted for that location's catch but both may not be kept.
Hopefully I'll think of a few other things.]]

In the distant future, a time when crime seemed to be at a standstill, there was a young girl, named Amie who ventured forth with her Pokemon, and became a Pokemon Champion. As many Johto trainers do, she would then continue onto the Kanto region to claim the badges there.

...But not under the same terms as most trainers. Not at all...

Cut to the town of Pallet. A homely little place, where a homely young boy was about to begin a journey very similar to that far off Trainer's.

Liddell, like most young trainers, dashed to Professor Oak's lab hoping to receive a starter, but who was there waiting for him?
Gary motherfucking Oak.
Gary oak snatched up the very last starter, which Liddell would have very much liked to have had. Instead, he was given the only thing Professor Oak had- a Pokemon caught fresh in the wild: A Pikachu.

A pikachu... It probably wouldn't even evolve right. But what can be done? :c
But it needs a name. How about... Default :c

SUDDENLY. Gary decides there's no time to waste in murdering us, so

The first Thundershock is a critical hit on Gary's Eevee! Looks like luck's on my side. Eevee uses Tail Whip.... Thundershock crits again! Herpy Gary is herpy, Tail Whip again.
Thundershock- Eevee's nearly dead! It finally tackles, doing 12 (out of 19) damage! Yikes. If we had not scored those two crits this would have been at early end.
However.
Thundershock- Eevee is KO'd! (with yet ANOTHER critical hit)!

It wasn't long before we received a Pokedex from Professor Oak, and so did we set off into the great beyond, with no discernable goal at this point!

Pokeballs bought- Route 1 was traversed before they were available, so that's out of the question, but we're at Route 22- and that has some pretty good stuff, especially for Brock. Let's see if my luck holds out...
Three Pokeballs (didn't even risk an over powered attack- it was level 2) later, Nidoran female was caught! Could be worse, but I'm not sure if it learns the Double Kick that'll be so useful for Brock...
Her name... Well. Nidorina evolves with Moon Stone, soooooo.

Thundershock brings Spearow to the red. Peck critical hits back, but doesn't do much. Then it's a KO to Spearow.

Gary sends out Eevee! Go, Shelly!

Shelly tackles a couple times, but after a Sand Attack, everything starts missing, so switch out! Gibbous takes her place! Gibbous comes into a crit tackle, but doesn't hit the yellow just yet. On the contrary, two Horn Attacks pack Eevee away~ Shelly levels up!
What? Shelly is evolving!

I would say we're looking for the Route 24 catch, BUT.

Because a kind gentleman here, moping about how awful of a trainer he is, has offerred to give me his Charmander. If I were a good person, I would teach him how to be a better trainer [s]grind[/s] but I am not, so I gladly took it off his hands~
Hunting around in Charizard's name for nickname ideas, I pulled out the "iza" and for no reason in particular Izaya is now my Charmander.

Although it pains me to break up the duo of Crescent and Gibbous, and although they're both doing -fabulously-, I'm depositing Crescent for the Charmander simply because Gibbous is slightly more powerful, and the redundancy between those two is- well, redundant.

Crossing into Route 25. Who's our taker?
Pidgey! A highish-level, but not a particularly impressive catch. But an EmberburnScratch and it is caught nonetheless. Nicknamed PidderPatter, and boxed indefinitely. >>

Strolling around Cerulean- there seems to be some commotion behind this house.
We enter, and there's a horribly dressed girl shouting at- who else, but a Rocket Grunt.

The grunt stands above her, laughing at her, his Machop forcing her away from him. In his hands, he spins two Pokeballs that she desperately tries to reach. She seems to have no other Pokemon- no doubt those are her Pokemon. So we intervene.

L: Excuse me. Would you mind giving the young lady back her property?
Rocket: Heh. HER property? I found them, fair in square- no, better than that, they CAME to me. I was just standin' right here, doin' my innocent bystander thing, and they appeared right in front of me. Then she showed up and tried to take them! I haven't done nothing wrong!
L: That's a double negative. Give the girl her Pokemon back.
R: Or what?
L: Or I'll make you give them back. I've dealt with Rockets enough already.

Go, Shelly!

R: Heh, so it's a fight you want? Machop, get hi-
L: Confusion attack, Shelly.

Machop is KO'd!

The Rocket is quick to send out Drowzee. Returning Shelly, Izaya does battle with the tapir. However no longer barred by Machop, the girl rushes in to seize her Pokeballs. The Grunt fights her off with ease- she's obviously weak and tired. Her eyes are red, as if she'd just been crying. Drowzee is KO'd by a couple embers and a scratch. Izaya and I are just about to corner him-
But suddenly, he grabs the girl and pulls her into a stranglehold.

R: Now you don't move... Wouldn't want her to get hurt now. Say, girl, what's your name?

He moves his arm out just enough for her to speak.

"A-... Amie..." she chokes.

R: Amie. Amie and I were just leaving. Watch yourself, kid.

In a flash, they're gone.

Raichu Mega kicks again, bringing Crescent down to 20 health- Body Slam KO's Raichu! Gibbous levels up!

Lt Surge was defeat- wait, what. That was his only Pokemon? ...Well, then that wasn't as perilous as I thought.

How's this for luck, an Abra. Fortunately, that ranks among the awesome things, but only if I can catch it. To my supreme fortune, I happen to have Shelly at the head of the part. Sleep Powder hits, and then a confusion, and then we throw the Great Ball I snagged from the SS Anne.... Abra is caught!
Awwwww yea. Though I don't think I'll be able to get Alakazam... Kadabra isn't half bad. AND, this thing is already level 15.
((now I will say if I can find a quick tool to enable evolution alteration, I'll change kadabra's evolution to the standard level 42 or whatever most romhack games use))

Unfortunate was W's loss but I was quickly realising that Fighting was NOT the best type in RBY- so if we call this a trade, it's well worth it. Additionally, this frees up Shelly's slot, because, I'll be honest, I've only been keeping her around for Confusion. >>
One trainer battle later, and Abra evolves into Fortune, the Kadabra.

Time for Route 7. I can't recall for sure, but I thiiiiink at least one of the OTHER two awesome things from the last route are in this patch too, but, lol inb4spearowpidgeyrattata

I stuck around afterwards just to see, but it doesn't look like I did miss them. Nothing but Abra and the aforementioned there. One Jigglypuff too, but meh.

G: Neither would I. Until she began telling me how SHE single handedly- allegdly- defeated the entire rank of our Johto division officers. When battling Erika's Gloom/Vileplume, use ANY Grass/Poison type.
My level 14 Oddish trolled the fuck out of a level 29 Vileplume, all it could do was PoisonPowder and Oddish can't be Poisoned.
When you get a Snorlax, Amnesia + Surf works REALLY well

On their way, they encounter on the sea, a Tentacool, which is prompty disregarded, and inside the Seafoam cave, a Zubat, which is equally disregarded. So did they press onward...
...But not everything that lurked in those isles could be disregarded so easily...

We catch the Primeape in a non-Master Ball! We'll name it... ...We'll name it Terra, because even though it's not Ground Type, that's about what I imagine her rampages to be like.
