Darvan Korematsu
~~After blowing this shit off for weeks, I finally deliver~~ Hey ladies and germs of Reborn. after putting off this damn RP for so long, I have finally conjured the willpower to finally construct the RP I have long desired to host and administer. After browsing the forums, and reading up on the roleplay matters, I have decided to write up a Role-Play which has yet to be built on Reborn. And what better theme to revolve around, than the writhing hordes of undead humans? Well Project Eternal is not a theme of zombies to the specific point, but more on the lines of playing with humanity akin to a GTA sandbox, in the near-utopian metropolis of Sheratan. What the hell you'll be doing in this RP As with every great zombie story, this one revolves simply around surviving in the sprawling metropolis of Sheratan. When I speak the bland method of only survival it sounds like some real boring shit. However, with myself as the host and you as the RP community, we could drive the story to a higher potential. This is where creativity comes in and the possibilities unfold. Massacre players, smash in zombie skulls, flee the city in vain, reproduce the human population in turmoil, band together to save humanity from an otherwise certain doom, and answer the penultimate question: what exactly is Project Eternal? What you'll be doing is the ultimate sandbox of RPs and just about whatever floats your boat. (Within constraints and my occasional naysay) Project Eternal Now where exactly the namesake of the RP comes from is the fictional genetic enhancement project, undertaken in the capital district, Sheratan, funded by the pharmecuticql titan of the region called Triton INC. Triton has always been the people's champion company in medical affairs, supplying many wonder drugs, mechanical limbs, and expert machinery and care to the people. Project Eternal was simply a unique experiment gone viral (literally). The zombies are merely failed test subjects, and the spread contagion the original failed subjects confided on new, unfortunate souls. The goals of Project Eternal are unclear as of right now, but as time goes on, the end-game of Eternal will emerge much clearer. Sheratan and the Four Districts Area: ~500 sq. miles Summary/Location: The whole region and metropolis itself is a self-sufficient city along with it's satellites. Sheratan is the central government for the region and the richest and most plentiful area for supplies and people out of all of the five areas. The region itself is organized with Sheratan at the center and each of it's satellites connecting only to Sheratan by one major road and two smaller roads (Essentially three going from the city to each of it's satellites). Think of the region's map layout as the World Govt. logo from One Piece. There is the large Andante River running through the middle of Sheratan, as well as beginning in Dragnov, and funneling out at Zeval. To the North of Sheratan is the small farming and energy provisions district of Dragnov. The the South of Sheratan is Zeval, the primary industrial output and main port for the metropolis. To the East is Saint Maria, which is the community for the richer members of the metropolis. To the West is Titanal, which is the dumping and scrapping community of the metropolis. All of the districts have a police precinct, stocked with weaponry of different degrees, and Sheratan, the city, also houses the only military base in the entire metropolis. I cannot stress enough that each district has at least one unique fortress, called a Holdout. These places are relatively safe from outside threats, except internally The whole metropolis is a self-sufficient community, and it rests a few hundred miles from any other major human civilization, making outside interference almost impractical, and fleeing the metropolis essentially futile. Sure, they could try, but too many resources would be put into saving the region, as it's so isolated from the rest of the world, it's not worth saving. Captial City Sheratan Population: ~340,000 people Area: ~60 sq. miles Summary/Location: Sheratan is located at the center of it all, and is the natural hub, and spoke of the five areas. Being the hub connecting the other four areas to it, Sheratan is naturally dependent on its satellites for most of its resources, like food and supplies. There is still a huge stock of supplies here, still making it the best place to raid for any necessities. It follows the hi-risk hi-reward philosophy, because of the sheer number of zombies that occupy Sheratan still. The city is evenly laid out with a somewhat even distribution of houses and wealth, except on the farthest edges of the eastern and western regions of the city, where the differences in wealth are more apparent. The Andante River dividing the city has four different bridges that connect it to each half. There is also a road system circling the outskirts of the city, similar to an Interstate system. The people of the eastern edge are the generally speaking richest members of the city, and the western edge people are the generally speaking poorest members of the city. It is a standard urban layout with several supermarkets sprinkled here and there, with a mall in the center of the city on the west side of the river, containing a myriad of stores with a large variety of supplies. To the east of the river is a general-use sports stadium, good for refuge. The central area of the city also had an airport, for the transportation of many people to and from Sheratan, but was destroyed in the initial outbreak. The Holdout here is in the northern edge of the city limits, housing government buildings for the municipality, simply called Capitol Hill. It is a large skyscraper with many stockaded supplies in case of disaster striking. Zeval District Population: ~70,000 people Area: ~30 sq.miles Summary/Location: Zeval is located to the SOUTH of the main city of Sheratan, about 15 miles from the southernmost city limits. The Zeval district is known as the primary port and shipping area to Sheratan and the other districts. Since most of the shipping is done here, and to keep costs efficient, the district also manufactures a number of industrial tools, weapons, various machines and non-perishable food stuffs, There is also a water-purification plant along the river to prevent toxic waste from spilling out into the oceans, because Zeval is also at the end of the land, near an ocean. The docks may seem like a good idea, but the docks are fitted to house barges and other large commercial ships, not simple boats for civilians to use. The lower third of the city is comprised of canals, piers and docks to accompany smaller civilian boats. Most of which are already gone. The holdout here is called The Docks because it is situated at the southern end of the district around the piers and shipping docks. The pier is usually only accessable by extension points, such as planks and ladders, because the bridges to the piers were mostly broken to keep zombies out. Dragnov District Population: ~5,000 people Area: ~50 sq. miles Summary/Location: Dragnov is located NORTH of the main city of Sheratan, about 40 miles from the northernmost city limits. The Dragnov district is the farthest away from the other districts and Sheratan and is a very remote area, served only by the roads. The area is packed around some mountains to the north and plains in the middle, with the river running cleanly through the center of the district, and some small areas of forest on the outskirts of the district. The mountain areas are devoted to providing energy to the people of Sheratan and the other satellites. The primary source of power is natural gas and coal, with some renewable power plants out here. The large number of plains areas are devoted to serving as the farmland for the metropolis, being easily able to feed the people of the metropolis. Dragnov is in such a remote area that the only people who really live here are workers on the farms, the three power plants, or the stores that provide the supplies for the two entities. The holdout of this area is the Brigand Power Plant which has numerous security measures and contains small generators, making this the best area for people with electricity. Saint Maria District Population: ~30,000 people Area: ~20 sq. miles Summary/Location: Saint Maria is located EAST of the main city of Sheratan, about 25 miles from the city limits to the east. The Saint Maria district is the rich peoples playground of the entire metropolis. Everyone living here is by no means in poverty. The swankiest stores, restaurants, culture centers, etc. are all located here. The two biggest draws to Saint Maria are the country club and golf course to the east. Saint Maria actually has little function in Sheratans operations, except for the trickling wealth to the poorer workers who live there. This place is also a good area to raid for supplies, generally higher quality ones, although there will be more risk, because its not like the rich dont defend their possessions. The holdout here is Zanzibar the country club and golf course, making it a spacious living spot for most survivors, as well as irrigated fields for crops. Titanal District Population: ~60,000 people Area: ~40 sq. miles Summary/Location: Titanal is located WEST of the main city of Sheratan, about 20 miles from the city limits to the west. The Titanal district follows the philosophy of the East/West division of wealth that Sheratan and Saint Maria follow. Titanal is the metropolis dump and scrapyard. The people who live here are mostly either the poorest of the poor, or are master scavengers and mechanics. The people living here dont mind the fact they are literally dumped on by the other districts. The people here make due with what they have been given. Most of the land here is piles upon piles of rubbish, but the Titanal people make sure to keep the roads clean, and use the leftover scraps to erect their own dwellings and stores. The biggest pulls here are the Scrapyards and the GigaDump. The GigaDump is a literal mountain of burning garbage that trucks just add on to. The Dump is located VERY far from the hub of Titanal to prevent health problems. The holdout here is referred to as The Yard, slang for the Scrapyard, which is the biggest recycling and dumping center of the entire district, and home to untold amounts of scrap and useful "trash" the people make very much use of. As with every Zombie story, there is a sort of unspoken code that most of the shambling corpses here follow. Most here are innate, and docile creatures. However, here, the after effects of the failed Project Eternal subjects harbored rare strange mutations to the human DNA, creating unforseen changes, in the benefit of the undead. All of them, no matter how special, only die by a sort of heavy trauma to the cranial cavity (aka the Brain), including but not limited to: -Headshots -Blunt Force Trauma (aka beating the head to a bloody pulp) -Decapitation -Searing the Brain Tissue (I.E - by Fire or Acid) The Bestiary of Common to Common-ish Zombies Walkers: Normal zombies. Just normal ones, nothing special about them. Headshot dispatches of them. Most common zombie ratio. Normally Walkers outnumber every other class at least 50:1 Bones: Zombies that are a tad stronger than Walkers, but have boney pseudo-armor covering their bodies. Relatively resistant to headshots and blows in general. Easy to determine by the bony protrusions from the body. Puker: If you haven't seen the Boomer from Left 4 Dead, watch it. It functions in the same generic way. It projectile vomits large amounts of bile which attract other zombies, and explodes upon death, sending bone shards and bile and infection in all directions. Easily identifiable by a bloated look. Wrapper: Long-tongued warped and shrunken looking-zombie. Lashes out it's tongue or claws to attack.Tongue is about 6 feet at max length. Spits out acidic saliva along it's tongue. Saliva is extremely caustic and can sear away light clothing and skin almost effortlessly. Spiders: Really fast and agile mo' fos that are a nightmare in a straight line, but suck at making turns and climbing. Spiders get their name from how they move distinctly on the hands and feet only, and oftentimes almost in reverse. About the size of normal Walkers (Not like they can climb anyways). Bestiary of Rare Zombies Gaunt: A strange tall and skinny zombie with long-ass arms and claws. Ironically enough is a zombie cannibal. Eats pretty much anything, including other zombies, without a care. Identifiable by long, skinny gray frame, and surprising amounts of strength. It is recommended not to kill this type of zombie. Azael: A humanish-looking zombie that looks like an average Walker, however is more bulky looking at the sides. Can sprout out tentacles from the bulges, giving it the freakish appearance of angelic wings. Tentacles are about 8 feet long and hit like trucks when swung at full force. This zombie is a doozy to fight alone. Juggernaut: Imagine a Bones, except HUGE. Like a good fifteen to twenty feet tall at least. Would die more easily to explosions than bullets or blades or brute force. You don't need any signs to identify this huge motherfucker. It's usually better to avoid it. Although if needed, fighting a Juggernaught alone nearly guarentees death unless you are armed to the death. As much as I hate to do this, I gotta lay down some rules, because there has to be a couple of them out there. 1. Myself and any mods on here reserve the right to warn or ban you if you don't comply with posts that flaw logic. 2. Activity is not necessarily a must, but is highly recommended. If you can't post once every 2-3 days to keep the story flowing, then don't bother. 3. Myself and mods also reserve the right to bunny characters if and only if the owner does not either comply with the constraints of real logic or if we need to keep the story moving with a sense of urgency. 4. Remember usual rules of respect. Swearing to a minimum. No godmodding. The usual 9 yards. 5. Remember that your character is not God. And I mean this for real, the character must be realistic. Like you can't have a single person mowing down an entire street block full of zombies with a fire axe without tiring. Character template Name: (Self-explanatory) Age: (Self-explanatory) Physical Description: (Self explanatory) Occupation: (The strengths your character has will mostly be associated with that job) Home District: (This gives an edge if that person is in the district and more control on navigation.) Backstory to Outbreak: (What they're doing just prior to the outbreak) Starting Weapon (if any): (More of a nicetie, because sometimes people have the arms without realizing it) Anyways, this is my first RP I have ever hosted. Hopefully the great experiment will be a rousing success and bring entertainment to the sub-forum. Enjoy the show. If you wanna be a mod or co-host, PM me. As soon as I get 5 people registered (including myself), I will create Chapter 1.
