First of all, fuck yeah I made it. Secondly, totes to everyone who tried out. Hope you guys a better luck in future RP ventures.

Damn it. In hindsight when I look back at my character I essentially made a Colress without intending to. I feel like Felix will either butt heads with Yuuki or be a bird of his feather if he hangs around enough. The negative Nancies are prolly not gonna like Felix.

Also when we getting this shit started Strat?

EDIT: :P Also sorry for making easily the longest app out of everyone else here. I couldn't leave any willing stone unturned.

Now that I've actually chosen, I can probably have the IC for the first chapter up by tomorrow night or so.

There are still some loose ends and things that need to be built here and there since right now all that exists for later parts of the tale is a basic skeleton, but the exposition... well, I've pretty much already written up how the story starts in the prologue.

Have fun in Vermillion

Cya comparing my guy to yours, about how similar are they literally?

Aside from the fact that you both wield cybernetic weapons of pure chaos and destruction (Porygon-z FTW!!), not much to be honest. Felix is a machinist who managed to outshine his oldman and cyalooms character is basically a kid from a wealthy family who was an assistant/ intern to a professor before heading off on a journey...

though both gave me a Colress vibe to be honest...

Also Murdoc... Imma try to not use a Gallade... but I don't have many choices so If I do end up using one sorry for the overlap but it might be a necessary evil. ((I think I can get around it... but no promises lol.)) I don't really have much of a team planned out yet and I might plan it as I go lol. It just really depends on what I end up goin' with XD.

Oh, and I should probably mention, if there are any repeats that occur, an easy solution to it is the fact that even if two mons are of the same species, none of them will (Or at least, should) have the same personality and personal traits. So yeah... there shouldn't be too much issue if the personalities are written well enough for each party member that they would be very easy to tell apart from another by how they behave.

and that's where the whole 'Skill' thing I was partially looking for kinda comes in...

You know you are original when your using a flippin' Farfetch'd. Just saying.

Ah, but there's precedent for farfetch'd. A long time ago I remember you planning one for the Mystery Dungeon RP....

We remember <.>

Out of interest, people care to share their apps? I'm kinda curious about who may have been

Well I've got Andrews right here...

Name: Andrew Owens
Sex: Male
Age: 22
Homeland: Sinnoh,Solaceon Town
Partner:
Sergio the Floatzel.

Male
Ability: Water Veil
Moves:
Focus Blast
Ice Punch
Aqua Jet
Razor Wind

Appearance: Andrew is a person of average height, being around 5'10". He has blond hair that goes down to his neck as well as Green eyes. It's usually kept this way but depending on his Demeanor may be messed up or sticking out in some areas. His right arm has an X-shaped scar courtesy of a misfiring from his Floatzel;Sergio's Razor Wind when the mon was still learning the attack and thus didnt have full control of it. Andrew generally wears an orange shirt with a gray jacket over it and brown combat trousers with hiking boots.
Personality: Andrew's more of an easy going person, not going out of his way to rush things and instead enjoying more of the area around him, a trait shared by Segio. Andrew tends to stick in an area for a while exploring and if in a large town or city stays there for quite some time savouring what it has to offer. Never the less he similarly to every other person in the world has his flaws as he is a bit arrogant and cocky something which recently caught up with him and struck him hard even with his father's prior warnings of it.
Personal History: Andrew belongs to a rather well off middle-class family with his father being a scientist that works at Oreburgh and helps analyze the fossils that were found in the mines while his mother helped out at the Day Care. Around the time when Andrew was 12, His mother brought home a Buizel that had been left at the daycare a year and a half prior and to which the trainer never came back for nor did they hear from them again, Andrew quickly befriended the water type and decided to have it act as his starter in place of the regular starters of Sinnoh. The pair took a slower approach to traveling that both were comfortable with and thus didn't manage to get all 8 badges in time for Andrew to participate in the league the same season that he had started out in. He did however participate for the next 2 years getting into rather high positions but never winning the whole thing. Andrew had thought that this year would be where that would finally happen as he had managed to go all the way to the finals but in his overconfidence did not strategize for the battle. Andrew would later learn that had been a fatal mistake as when he only had his Floatzel left, his opponent, a young male by the name of Jason Aylett who had done his research on him brought out the one thing he had no way of reliably beating with Sergio;a Trevenant which handily defeated the Floatzel with ridiculous ease. The one thing his father had warned him to never do, and he had gone and did that very thing. In his arrogance he made a horrible mistake and in turn lost his chance at taking on Sinnoh's Elite Four. For the next few weeks, Andrew lost the drive to actively battle and train with his Pokemon and stayed inside and lamented on what he had done before Sergio finally had enough and grabbed the blonde and dragged him outside to face his fears instead of simply staying inside and hiding from what had happened. After gaining back his drive, Andrew overheard some people talking about a far off region, to the north of Unova called Arcadia the place known as the most dangerous in the world. Having grown slightly bored of traveling in Sinnoh and not wanting to do that for yet another year, Andrew set his sights on Arcadia. Wanting to take a fresh start even with the dangers he would face, he only took Sergio with him and took a boat to Kanto, Vermilion. Known to have one of the largest ports in the world, there might be someone there who would take him there right?

Disappointment creeps here now that I look at it again lol so much more I could've described but didn't...

There's two people each from Unova, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, and then Kanto is just sitting there with one PC like "Oh, hey, what's up?"

I was actually considering having my Char be from Kalos for a bit.

((that's because Kanto sucks...)) Actually though... Unova is just my favourite region... even though like everyone hates on it.

I see that I'm not the only GenV fan. Unova's my fave, too. Kalos comes in at a close second, though...

New York City, to be specific. It's kinda why I have a special amount of affection towards Castelia City.

I'm a bit farther Northwest, in the Finger Lakes Area. Probably why i don't really have a preference in terms of City.

It's probably best Johanna to be, well... not connected to any characters whatsoever at the beginning. She would sorta thrive on being a weird character for most of the others at first. ((since she fancies herself a Knight lol.)). She'd be a bit interesting to deal with for most I'd imagine since she'd be a bit different from many especially the first time XD.

Also... I actually didn't see it at first, but funnily enough Strat, Johanna does draw some inspiration from Brienne of Tarth lol. Not a huuuuge amount, but definitely some.

On Unova... it's kinda my fav region as it has a lot of mons I like... and pretty much none that I don't. I even do like Garbodor, and I respect what they were going for with Vaniliuxe even if nobody else does. ((Pokemon based on Local specialties. And while it might be Based on a British treat... it still fits the bill and really fits well with promoting how American the Region of Unova is. America is all about local specialties. And while it isn't my favourite mon... I not going to rag on it. Enough people already do XD.)) I actually really enjoy most of the Bug Types as Scolipede and Escavalier are two very up there mons for me, and even though it has it's flaws I still really like Leavanny. Volcorona is also super cool. Basically... I love the mons of 5th Gen and I really enjoy the region. It gets a lo of undue flak over very few designs which is pretty unfair imo. But enough about Unova XD. This is the OOC for an RP, not Hukuna defends Unova time.

What I hear is, you seem to have preferred the self-made man rather than the upstart kid. If that was the deciding factor, I've actually been criticized in my early writing because of the "upstart" deal. And if I remember correctly, there is already a well-off character.

EDIT: Also Felix was only able to outshine his old man because his old man was decommissioned by the Porygon creation incident. Him possessing 2 hands gives him a one-off automatically.

"Upstart" characters can be good. I've only ever come across them as hate-sinks or prime targets for Heel-Face turns (Or the inverse) in which they go from Bad to nice (Luke fon fabre the first example off the top of my head) or Bad to Evil. (Draco Malfoy going from School bully to Bad guys minion)

A couple of Forum brewed examples here are Pierre and Alvin, featured n the Ymora RP.

They were fun to use as Hate-sinks.

Still, as far as written ~protagonists~ go I can't say they fit. Leave them as a dick for too long and the audience starts to hate them without redemption (Fern), Although it'd be fun seeing the lesser Jerkass overcome the Big Bad through sheer value of the Jerkass attitude.
