Still, though, nothing truly beats a good set of Armor in most RPGs where you can equip it...

Keep in mind... in an RP, Farfetch'd is no weaker than any other mon, nor is Electrode. So, considering it as such is well... an error. Just keep that in mind when facing mons that one would normally consider weak or terrible. They aren't so much in an RP environment.

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best."

-Karen, of the Indigo Elite Four

yeah... its gonna be a good idea to leave any thoughts carried over from the meta or any elitist BS at the door here, just a general heads up.

What I'm trying to go for with this RP here is the concept is that if two mons are at the same or similar levels of the strength scale and neither has an explicit type advantage over the other, then they should both stand at least some sort of chance against one another (and even then, type disadvantages can be overcome if one is smart enough)... seeing as how there are more than a few pieces of evidence in various outlets of the anime that kinda back this up, both in the main and side/ one-off series.

Besides, RPing allows far more inventive uses of mons. Especially Frail ones, seeing as OHKOes pretty much aren't a thing. 2HKOes maybe but not OHKOes. Else what's even the point?

Yeah like for instance how I got a Porygon-Z. That mon holds a reputation for frailty with, at best, meh defenses. Although that's where I'm really gonna have to restrain it, because my guy essentially altered it where it can take hits better. (He definitely covered the reason it lost him in the first place). Also, taking into consideration the Porygon-Z plowed over more Pokemon singlehandedly than an International Harvester. That's where we have to be considerate to our fellow RP'ers. Even if what you're staring at was LITERALLY MADE for superiority.

So are we waiting for Stratos to post something about the sailors getting us on the boat? Or does he have something else in mind?

Patience man, the last person to post did so this morning. Give the man time

This. I was just finalizing a few changes regarding the crew and their role while I was waiting for chim and Exlink to get an intro up.

And I was actually waiting for you all to swarm into a group like you are now rather than doing individual updates anyway.

Makes sense. I'm just used to pretty fast RPs from Reddit. That and I got a buttload of free time. Something that I think maybe a few people here have much less of.

Unspoken rule of thumb: Don't expect speedy RPs. People have lives. If I wasn't on holiday I'd find it much harder to churn out replies as fast

I don't really care too much about which one of you responds regarding who knows sign language.so long as you have some believable reason for knowing it. you can make up something such as him having a deaf relative or some such for a reason, or just make it something that he once studied in his spare time out of pure interest in the mechanics of how a non-verbal, completely gesture based language can possibly function at all , seeing as he's the scholarly type anyway.

It's first come, first serve

Young man and woman?

Yuuki appears on the rather feminine side, doesn't he?

That's likely what Darvan was referring to, considering you yourself said it's not uncommon for him to be mistaken as a young woman and everything.

Though, the giant ain't exactly young... more like in his mid-thirties.

So, I'm a bit confused as to what's going on at the moment.

Can anyone jump in? Then again, Ms. I-have-trouble-expressing-my-emotions Kuroyoru would probably not be the type to understand sign language so I'm not sure what she'd do here...I wonder if she could pull something with Gardevoir... :P

He mentions the sailor and "a young man and woman," implying three people.

Oh, you're right...

well in that case, I got no idea what the hell he's talking about right there. probably just a typo or something

well, I expect for people to have their own reactions at hearing Yuuki explain what the big man is signing... presumably with some type of shock and/or outrage of (In some cases) having traveled hundreds if not thousands of miles to some port city where it's blisstering cold and being told the virutal equivalent of "This Offer has expired"

And try anything on him with the gardevoir, and that Lucario nearby will turn viscous.

You have been warned.

Yep sorry about that Murdy and Strat. I fixed it up no problem. Although I am quite surprised that no one questioned the ability of the Porygon to "translate". Then again it is a piece of independent analytical computer software.

No, the host himself puled the same kinda tricks in Ymora so I handwaved it as possible

this.

I've basically been treating the Porygon line basically as just AIs who happen to be able to maintain an actual body and fight pokemon battles in the PA RP, so yeah.

Just don't go over board with it and start metagaming. cause I was careful to never do so while it was available to my PC.

That, and because you managed to use it to run your own little subplot that helped stave off the RPs death for a while as we sorted shit out

Was what I did too metagame-y? I'm not sure...

Yuzuki pretty much figured that if you're a worker repeating something in response to complaints, it's likely to go ask someone who knows more than you.

But again, I'm not sure if that's too overboard...

It's not exactly meta-gaming, but it's still a rather convoluted explanation for how in the nine hells she could've possibly even guessed what he was signing when she has no knowledge of any sign language at all...

It would honestly just be better to cut all of that run around out by just having her directly reacting to Yuuki telling everyone about how the offer was invalid and demanding to speak with a superior or something
