The question is "how will she get out of this mess?"

I have a few tools up my sleeve...

plus, I can't exactly have anyone isolated from the main group just yet... because if I allow Nikki to be captured, we'd be talking about a whole seperate story arc simply from the various forces acting behind the scenes here alone... I would be able to get her out of custody rather easy thanks to a certain someone on board, but after that... It would likely be a very long time before she was able to rejoin the main group...

once we get this show to Avalon, we can do that shit all you guys choose to, but for right now... getting passage on that boat is the most crucial thing in the chapter.

I actually thought surrendering was an option, was that bad

Well, given what I said about it being wise to always consider Khan's words with more than just a mere grain of salt... and how much he advocated against it, yeah, just a bit... it's okay though...this time at least

Well, from the looks of it, the hell bird hasn't been accounted for yet, since when Felix last left him, the flaming avian was merely laying on the ground all paralyzed and pissed off. Depending on how Strat or whoever else wants to take it, I was gonna close the door on that part.

hint hint, Trainer done dead

I chose not to include any information on the blaziken or his teamates in my last post for a reason. I've already decided what their fate will be, and I never delegated the liberty to decide otherwise to any players... so dobby has a point there.

That, and then there is the logical issues with that pathway- do you really think it's a good idea to capture an opponent's pokemon who not only has a serious grudge against you for kicking it's ass, but also saw it's fucking trainer die during the fight with the group you're apart of? That thing may have surrendered, but it has by no means lost it's murderous will... it has every single motive and reason to attempt to kill you the minute it's healed up and out of the ball again- both out of vengeance for itself, it's friends, and it's master.

If you go trying to pilfer the capsule for it off of the Pyromancer's belt, it will not end well for you in the long run- that much I can assure you. That, and you don't want to piss off that woman near the railing...

Not gonna lie, kinda wanted to force strats hand and stick around with the cops.

bad things happen when my hand is forced. I have not told you all about SRAs, but just know they are a piece of weaponry far superior to gunpowder technology. An SRA utilizes the power of the planet itself as it's ammunition and therefore can harm any pokemon regardless of it's particular biology unlike a more conventional weapon like a sword or a gun.

Imagine what it would do to a human if it's powerful enough to considerably injure a pokemon.

If it were possible, sure I'd go and have you all fight the Po-po next, but they've used most of the steps on the force continuum at this point: Prescence, Verbal Commands, right now, they're on the Non Lethal Force ((Kinda...)) peg. The next step up in escalation is lethal force.

And when Lethal force happens, the po-po stop relying on just their pokemon and turn to actual firepower...

Now...how many mons on the PC roster have protect or some sort of defensive force field move again?

TLDR: because of the things leading up to the wars, the cops in this verse are all quite brutal when it comes to responding to potential acts of terror... which the Hyper Beam offense counts as. You don't want to fight a Police Force when it's that jumpy and sensitive to provocation

And why would there be lethal force? If Nikki remained prone and didn't do jack, there would be absolutely no call at all for lethality to be used

I literally just finished explaining why.

And Nikki's latest response to Khan's actions should also be obvious reason enough. Khan has gone and poked a sleeping bear in his attempts to keep them occupied long enough for the ship to get away...a bear that's already been poked

I mean, really, It's not like I'm pulling this stuff outta my ass. There was foreshadowing both for the interference occurring and the fact of how the cops are acting. The fact that Nikki happened to decide to go down and surrender simply forced the Gengar's hand ahead of time.

And as an aside for anyone who didn't realize it yet- I'm not aiming for likability with Khan. he is what he is...whatever he is

  • 4 weeks later...

so... not really sure what I was thinking with that last update and why I didn't just totally wrap up things there so we could move on, but anyhow... time to remedy that mistake. We got a plot and all shorts of development to jump into on Avalon, so...

expect another update soon, probably within a few days- as to exactly how many, not entirely sure yet. I'll likely take care of the pursuing Police boats and wrap the situation up. I may just start a new chapter afterwards, or we could just keep the events together in Chapter 1 and save chapter 2's start for when we actually get lost and crash on to Avalon...

Though I'll probably just go ahead and start a new chapter at this rate and bump us right to it, give a bit of free time after you shipwreck arrive...

Unless anyone has anything they want to try to do on the boat such as any development or anything... in which case, if you'd rather have free time to do that now, I can always simply keep the current chapter and just have the time it takes until the next uh... Sea Event occur onscreen.

TLDR; either we can try to do a bit of free time for you all to actuall interact without the threat of death looming over your heads and people attacking you, or we can move right into chapter two after the next update. The choice is really up to whatever you guys would prefer at this point.

but seriously though, the plot starts developing far more once you get to the island... anyways, I kinda need to know what you want to do before I can write the update, since how I'll have to write it will vary depending on the chosen options.

Apologies on my part there Strat. I think the majority of us have been busy with other things to really take notice lately, because I've noticed some of our collected activity in and out of the forums. I'll have something up tomorrow morning.

Yeah, I kinda figured that probably had a lot to do with it... everyone just being busy and all- but still, we started this back in July, and we've barely gotten past the story's opening...

anyways

alright, so far I'm getting a general vibe in favor of a bit of interaction for the boat. Now to see if the tide will turn or hold with the others say...

The 15 post/ one week dead line sounds like a good measure though, encase the Chapter 1 interaction option wins out.

A little time to interact sounds good. Maybe set a limit of, say, 15 posts or one week, whichever comes first?

I vote this.

And thanks for bunnying Joey. I managed to catch up so I should be good to get back into this
