Nikki sat down on the deck with a slight thump, exhaling a sigh of relief. "Holy fuck above, that was insane."

She looked around, scanning the field. This boat had well and truly been battered and Nikki had to wonder just how they hadn't all drowned in the frozen water after breaking the whole vessel.

"Sound off people, who's alive?"

Yuzuki turned to face the beast that had fallen when Khan had pointed to it. Just like Khan, she witnessed as the beast emitting a glowing light and heat before completely disappearing, leaving behind many red and blue crystals.

Yuzuki, though confused, was quite amazed at the sight of the brilliant burst of light she had seen. But now was not the time for amazement or reflection. There were plenty of answers that she needed. She turned back to Khan.

"I still have a few questions. First, were the assailants associated with the Brotherhood you mentioned earlier or were they part of another faction entirely? Second, I assume that you were at least aware of the possibility of an attack based on what you said. Is there any possibility that there will be reinforcements or a second wave coming in? Finally, what just happened over there?" She asked, pointing towards the beast, or at least where the beast previously was taking an onslaught of attacks. "That was not merely the death of a Pokemon." She had her suspicions but that's all they were at this point. However, she knew the man next to her knew. After all, the man did not respond to that scene with a "What the hell?" like someone who had no idea would respond. He responded with a 'how'. He knew what just happened but was surprised with the fact that it just happened in front of him.

Yuzuki

Khan had to take a moment to gather himself from he'd just witnessed, rubbing his temples. He kept his eyes on the scene before him as he tried to forumlate something suitable for the Girl's questions.

"No," He began... "No, the two women and one man who attacked us were definitely apart of the Brotherhood... The only other faction even existing in any of this is the very one whose boat you're standing on belongs to. As for reinforcements...there won't be any. Not if she's here." Khan loosely waved a hand in the direction of the loading ramp. Yuzuki could've seen a young woman helping the same mute giant they'd seen earlier up to his feet, trying to get him onboard from where he had fallen in battle. How she could even manage to wrestle that much weight was anyone's guess...

"This unit that attacked... they're known as a Shadow Force. The Brotherhood's elite units- Their trump cards. They're Black Ops, typically lead teams 21 men strong whenever one of them is deployed in full force. one commander, two captains, and 18 subordinate members." He put his shades back on, hiding this ice blue eyes as he finally turned back to Yuzuki. "That woman though... she's one of the most dangerous trainers alive. if she managed to intercept them- which she likely did judging by the fact that only the big three made in to the target -then the rest of the squad is surely already dead...but all that... all that is mute compared to the matter of the beast. To the matter of just what you people have managed to do here..."

He paused a moment, pushing the specs back up the bridge of his nose as he took a deep breath and shook his head. "Tell me, girl, you have never heard of a legendary pokemon dying, have you? No, no, of course not... for eons they have existed, for eons they have lived and breathed... but yet unlike normal pokemon, you hear nothing of a Legend ever dying- and nor do you hear of them breeding or reproducing; But yet, despite these two facts, for so long, they have always been present.

Just why do you think that is, girl? Why do you think there are so few of them, and of those few species, why there are always only one of each kind- only one darkrai, only one cresselia, only one zapdos, articuno, moltres, etcetera? Why do you think that they, above all other species, have neither perished nor faded from the earth, except for Volcanion just now; How it is that they alone have endured extinction events after extinction events? never evolved over time or even changed that radically if at all? Why is that? Why have they remained the same beings since the day they were wrought?"

Khan honestly hoped the girl would be smart enough to piece at least the beginning of it all together...

"Under normal circumstances, I would say that natural selection led to the birth of species which reached a temporary endpoint in the evolutionary tree. However, that entire explanation bears contradictions due to the fact that there is a unique being in each species." Yuzuki pondered while letting all of her thought processes out. "They've endured extinction events. The only explanation I can think of is that high levels of Spectra allow them to prevent the need for reproduction while at the same time, allowing for them to live through catastrophic events. If I'm right then that means that that battle just led to the creation of enough power to counteract that..." She tapered off while starting to think that she may be going a bit off-base with her theory.

Yuzuki

"...partially correct." Khan said simply, starring at the pile of gems and blazing stones that was once the beast. "There exists a very...old tale within Kalos. One dating back so far, few if any people even know it these days... a story of a man called Charlemagne. A knight... but not a knight of men. A knight whose bond with his partner was so powerful, that together, they were able to achieve power beyond that of even mega evolution... the power to bring death to the undying and silence the breath of the everlasting... a power that the story says, is a final gift, a gift that died with Charlemagne, and will never again manifest itself... the very same type of power that your gaggle of friends over there just finished displaying.

The legendary pokemon are each endowed with the privilege of Immortality, with the divine protection and grace of Arceus himself, girl... that is how they have survived this long, that is why they have never evolved- because with the power of God himself surging through their veins, however small an amount it may be, they are thus already rendered into their perfect forms by default... and need no further bodily improvement. And Charlemagne's Gift is the only way possible to remove that protection and revoke that immortality..."

He looked back over at the others, eyeing them from behind the veils of tinted black glass... "Volcanion, the legendary beast of fire and steam- the only being in the entire world who housed to polar opposite typings, both Fire and Water, within the same vessel...and now He is no more."

"So you're saying that group of trainers accomplished the unprecedented task of an immortal." If Yuzuki could deadpan, that would have been the perfect moment. But, she simply continued on in her emotionless tone. "Does this necessarily mean Charlemange's Gift resides in someone here or is it something else entirely?"

That was one of many questions flooding her head at the moment. But there was something more pressing at the moment. "Charlemange's Gift and the death of an immortal aside, I'm sure that somebody in the city has noticed the chaos that had been going on. After all, a large beam attack was fired into the sky on this ship. It's probably best to take care of the chaos before asking any more questions." If her little Q&A session was interrupted, then she would get no answers at all. So, it was best to put the group into a situation where questions and answers could be relayed to each other freely.

"Does this necessarily mean Charlemange's Gift resides in someone here or is it something else entirely?"

"That... is a whole 'nother matter in and off itself." Khan answered. "It's...complicated. The story... it makes the gift out to be something that isn't passed on through blood and birth... it was more of something like an achievement. Like... transcendence from the realm of mere men and into something greater. Charlemagne was simply the first and apparently only person to have ever discovered the possibility, hence it became his legacy in a way."

He stopped and looked out over the docls and towards the sprawling cityscape beyond, lights burning in the fog as bright reds and blues clashed against the white and grey backdrop of snow and concrete and mist. The dusknoir was back, seemingly materializing from the very air itself. The man whispered something to the ghost before taking two more capsules from his belt, tossing them high into the air. Out of the bursts of raw, black energy emerged a Rotom and Gengar, the latter of the duo bearing a gold arm bangle that shined in the early morning sun, a murky stone sitting in it's center with striations of black and violet and red. The wraith instantly gave a series of cackles to the weaker phantom hovering before it, the Dusknoir responding with a whispered tone of it's own. Both of them turned to Khan and nodded before vanishing from sight, leaving only the Tinkerer Spirit.

"Get to the bridge." He ordered. The Rotom had given an indignant crackle of static before vanishing as well before Khan turned back to Yuzuki. "Though, knowing the church of Kalos at the time... no, nevermind- you have a point, girl, This is something that's better off being discussed later. The authorities would've been bad enough on their own, but Thanatos just gave me word that the strongest man in the city is en route to this location... and my associates in the after realm don't think he'll be holding back anything. God help us all if he uses that signature move of his..."

As he confirmed that his opponent was defeated he couldn't help but notice in the corner of his eye the monster's demise. After watching that beast disappear he couldn't help but awe, though it was concealed beneath his cloak. It seemed to have left a gem and another man went to go check it. The enemy had left for the time being, though he kept his guard up just in case. There wasn't much time before someone wanted to take a roll call.

"Sound off people, who's alive?"

Lloyd made his way towards the group and let a short "I'm fine." Silver wasn't too far behind, her white hair flowing through the ocean breeze. She thought that the enemy would be a challenge, seeing as they'd have the advantage. It disappointed her. Though having an easy fight then having a hard fight that ultimately leads to your death is definitely better.

"You're planning to leave the city's jurisdiction, I assume?" Yuzuki has seen the man command a Rotom to go to the bridge. Knowing a Rotom's tendencies to take over various electrical appliances, she could only assume that he wanted to use the Rotom to get the hell out of the City's port.

"In that case, would you like me to inform the others of the situation?" She said before taking one step, indicating that she was ready to head over to the group and do so.

"Do so if you wish to, girl." Was what she got in response. Khan was staring at the unknown woman as she lowered the giant on his side onto the deck, the stranger herself giving him a unreadable look in return."It is of little consequence now either way; You all wanted an adventure, afterall... and It's much too late to have a change of heart."

Yuuki pocketed a few more of the gemstones - he assumed they were Spectracite, what else could they be? - before responding to Khan's words. "How do we know we can trust you, anyway? After all, you're quite frankly just a stranger spinning tales of legends, interesting though they may be." While his trainer spoke, Janah relaxed slightly from his combat stance, and took up a position slightly behind Yuuki. "For that matter, why would the authorities do us harm? This all looks rather... off, to say the least, but surely they would listen to an explanation."

Yuuki and Yuzuki ((And pretty much everyone else at this point too))

"You heard that earlier? well, I'm quite impressed then." Khan called back to the scholar. "And if you don't trust me... well there's really nothing I can do about that. You're free to hop off this vessel and go have a nice chat with the police when they arrive though; I guarantee the experience won't be pleasant. True, they'll hear your story, but we on the other hand won't be sticking around here... and without any tangible proof to actually back up what you're saying, it'll be a long and hard interrogation session. If someone like I were to stop and chat with them though, it would be in serious conflict with the mission... given the fact that my orders are to avoid garnering as much attention as possible.

Almost as if to confirm the man a booming, authorative call tore through the air as the first few vehicles began to pull up to the Docks, all of the them stopping just before the concrete and asphalt of the shipping yards gave way to the wharf's numerous extensions into the sea beyond. Among them was a sizeable, black van bearing the words 'SWAT' on it's side in gold, a large dishlike object sitting perched upon it's roof, all black and reminiscent of a pancake given it's flat surface. Khan simply stared at Yuuki with a blank expression, as well as at the others.

"Do what thou wilt, anyone who wishes to disembark and talk. Just keep in mind that getting hit by an LRAD's blast hurts just as much as a Hyper Voice grating against your eardrums. And that SWAT officers, regardless of jurisdiction, don't play around. I've little idea how Asphalt and Concrete taste, but I imagine it's not savory in the least bit. Don't expect them to act nice; in this situation, They'll treat any of you as active threats first, and suspects or witnesses second."

"I suppose it's impossible to argue against that, though the fact that I am being forced to accompany you is something that I have a rather lacking appreciation for." The scholarly Trainer made a gesture that vaguely indicated Khan. "You're leading the way, then." He turned his head to look at his Gallade without moving his body, looking over his shoulder. "Janah, still doing fine?" The Gallade nodded. "Good, stay on alert until we've left this place." Today is going to make for a rather interesting journal entry. . .

"Why the fuck are we threats? We're citizens who defended ourselves is all." Nikki grumbled, a mixture of outrage and petulance mixing into her voice. Dad had always taught her to respect the local authorities whilst growing up so, as indignant as she felt, she still didn't dare fight with the police. She returned Aethor to his pokeball to get his rest. Fighting a Camerupt and the big crystal steam machine had definitely earned him a reward.

With a sigh, Nikki stood up, walked off the boat to the dock to face the cops, hands in the air to placate them.

Lloyd looks towards Silver, "Well, there's not much choice in the matter is there?" He asked the Dark-Type, and She nodded in response. Lloyd let out an annoyed sigh "Lets just get out of here before they start to board the ship. They're not just going to sit idly forever." Turning himself in is not an option, it's too big of a risk. If he were to be found out and jailed he couldn't complete his mission.

He kept an eye on the police on the docks. Wouldn't want someone sneaking up from behind to capture him.

Swat Van

Booth tightened his already bone white grip on the LRAD's microphone, eyes as cold and dead as steel locking onto the lone figure making her way onto the docks, his thin lips set into a pursed cross of suspicion and disdain towards the would be criminal. A few years ago, just starting out as Chief he would never have considered accompanying his officers to a scene, let alone ride shotgun with SWAT Team itself... but... this wasn't the time for him to be sitting at his desk; that fiasco with the kid back when he was first named had been proof enough that his efforts hadn't been enough- that he could not lead from behind. It proved... That the department was still too weak. too pathetic. too unmotivated and flacid... that he still had quite the mess to clean up...

And it proved that he would have to grip the wheel of leadership tighter... harsher.

"Deploy." He ordered just before he depressed the trigger on the mike yet again, nodding at the driver... who then gave a single, silent signal into the side view mirror... and then Booth repeated the same command over the comm frequency. The roaring hum of motors and splashing of waves filled the van's cabin as a simple "Affirmative" came in over the air.

Nikita

There was silence for a moment as Niki stood there in surrender. Contrary to Khan's words, it looked like she would not be dining on concrete today... or being assailed by a glorified blast of hyper voice...

or... so it seemed. The noise came all at once. Pure silence fading into a screeching cacophany of men and women shouting at her fanning out from their places behind the van, kneeling behind the cover of the police cruisers with SRAs held at the ready and trained on her center mass as a dizzying display of red sights danced across the surface of her attire. A single shot was all it would take... so much Spectra, concentrated into a single area...

Among the disorienting noise and crossed commands though, there were but two things Nikki could make out repeatedly through the overwhelming wave of verbal force...

"HALT!"

"HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEAD; STOMACH TO THE GROUND!"

It seemed Khan was right about the General SWAT behaviour assessment

Ondeck

Khan said absolutely nothing as he watched the very scene he had just finished predicting unfold. He only shook his head, turning to the others. "I've never been one to use 'I told you so', but... I do believe this is a better illustration of precisely what I warned of than anything I could've said."

With that, the mysteriouso walked towards the ship's super structure, but not before he gave one final call over the shoulder. "Do what thou wilt. Don't expect any help against the officers if you happen to change your mind though. I estimate we will be up and running within... three to four minutes at most. Make a decision, if your going to."

Nikki's mind was one part confused as the SWAT team completely over-reacted to her surrender, two parts resigned as the man who spoke before was proved right in his assessment and one final part of irritation. The SWAT teams behaviour, whilst somewhat understandable, was utterly brutish. If they actually had a clue about the situation at hand they could have acted somewhat respectably. Maybe the police needed to invest more in surveillance...

Still, Nikki complied with the bothersome orders, lying on the cold, filthy floor with no small amount of disgust.

Oh but someone was going to have their eardrums broken for this.

Khan was right about one thing. Yuzuki did come into this looking for an adventure and it was too late for a change of heart. It was just best to stay on the boat and not get caught up with the police. So, there was no point in leaving the ship. She'd just stay as the ship disembarked.

However, it seemed others weren't too interested in doing the same. The sporty looking one seemed to be in denial of what would likely happen if she stood in front of the police and left to head to the dock. "Ah…she left…" Yuzuki muttered before walking over to the edge of the deck and looking over the railing towards the dock.

Sure enough, Nikita was raising her hands before the SWAT Team even arrived. "…and now they're gonna treat her like a criminal from the get-go." She spoke in a dry tone and sure enough, when the SWAT Team came to the docks, they were definitely being quite aggressive. "Mmm…I guess that's to be expected. Maybe someone should try to help her."

Of course, Isamu while a warrior... was still a lazy one. It was his rather annoying flaw at times. He was tired from the day of walking and training so, of course he took the time to fly off and get entirely out of the fight rather than stick around. After all in his mind if the others couldn't handle that situation, they had no right to help him at all. He would receive a nice strangling once Steele found him though. She was pretty angry that he decided to bail. She had taken the chance to slip out of the area while the others were occupied and she had a way to slip out unnoticed to find that stupid bird and put him in his place. One didn't run from battle just because they were lazy and knew that others could handle it. They should still fight with all their strength lest the opponent be underestimated. It was irresponsible and could've gotten those others hurt or killed if they weren't careful. As soon as she found him, her anger welled.

"You idiot duck... Perhaps I should turn you into a nice soup after all. You're cleeeeeearly useless in a fight" she said with a giant grin on her face. But, not a smile of happiness. It was one of pure unbridled anger and hatred. The Twisted visage of a demon staring at it's prey. Isamu knew this smile much to well. TO the point if he was human he'd have screamed at the top of his lungs as he started to run away. Instead an awkward squawking not fitting of a duck or one who called themselves a warrior to make came from his throat. He turned around about to take flight before a Pokeball collided with the back of his head and pulled him back inside. He knew better than to break out... he'd only make her more angry. He didn't want that, not one bit. It was already bad enough. He was safer in here. So he stayed in there.

***

Steele had just walked into the area seeing Nikki's surrender. She didn't really know what was happening, but she didn't really care too much either. It wasn't her business therefore she payed it no mind whatsoever. Her cane tapped on the solid concrete as she didn't really even pay a mind to what was happening, however she did give it a rather large birth not wanting anything to do with it. She just headed for the boat that she was on prior to this whole mess. She sighed and whispered under her breathe "Anymore surprises for today, or can we get this shitshow on the road?" to no one in particular.

Recci

The soldier felt the tang of blood surge in his mouth just as he came to, a sputtering, drawn out cough echoing from his lips and out into the darkness. He was blind. The only thing that painted the canvas of his black world was the swirling dust motes dancing within the single beam of early morning sun, trickling down from above. He gave a grunt of pain as he attempted to shift his weight, only to find the searing pain of a thousand splendid suns blooming throughout his right side. He looked at his shoulder, and in the light... he could the gleam of silver jutting out among bloodied and broken flesh, the slight taint of darkness still radiating from the foul weapon, though within the sun's rays, it quickly began to die.

"Fuck...me..." Jackson muttered weakly. The pain was still too much to even think of moving... but he could feel it beginning to ebb along with the malice of the aura. "That little witch...she couldn't have been human... no one's capable of pulling that type of-" He forced himself up to his knees as he spoke, grinding his teeth against the second wave a searing fire igniting every last nerve ending he had. It was enough to send him blacking out the next second, feeling as his body tumbled back down and hit something hard and smooth. Hard and smooth... and moving. Jackson's eyes again fluttered open at the shrill, guttural hum of a full grown steel type. Cold, cobalt eyes lit up the darkness beside him, staring down with startled recognition. A tell-tale silver and grey light burned not too far beneath them as the soldier moved his hand to pat the monster, seemingly reacting to the rainbow hue adorning his own limb. There was no doubt about it...

"Aaaaaaag..." the Aggron whispered with a wheez.

"You got... caught in here too..."

"Grooooon...."

Recci pulled his hand away- the glow of both the mega and the key stone dying as he did so. He held gazes with his oldest partner there in the darkness... illuminated by only a single shaft of sun. The last thing he could recall was ordering... something... something to kill that damn tyranitar- no, not a tyranitar, a god damn demon- there was... light, flash cannon? Then... then another light just like it... and a scream- a woman's scream. And then everything had faded, just like that. He had felt a tugging, a pulling, and ripping; something slicing into his flesh like an industrial meat packer and severing whatever sensory connection he had to the world before tossing him like a rag doll as if he'd pissed off a machamp... and then... nothing. And after nothing- here. Again Recci forced himself up- this time managing to maintain consciousness.

"Bird Christ, Galahad... we're getting... too old for this... shiiiiit."

"..."

"Galahad?" The beast was transfixed on something above. Something had blocked out the light. Then... the light not only returned... but expanded, expanded as two phantasmal fist grabbed hunks of the inky black material and forced the hole's berth wider and wider, bit by bit, fighting some type of unknown resistance as the beefy arms of whatever sinister god had seen fit to send them strained to continue it's progress. With Galahad's help Recci pulled himself to his feet, gazing at the spectacle as the face and body of a dusknoir he'd seen too many times before peeked down into his personal little abyss. The phantom met his gaze from on high. And within an instant, arms formed of the shadows themselves materialized around the hole, stretching it even further as the wraith carried out it's orders and a single, pitch black arm, impossibly long and impossibly huge by any corporeal standards extended it's

merry way down into the hell hole.

Recci did not move. He did not breath. He only laughed. shaking with the sheer amusement

"Son of bitch...Leave it to him, of course... that crazy, annoying bastard, here he comes to save me... again..." the laughter stopped as subtly as it had begun. Jackson's face darkened.

"Why can't you just let me die already?"

Hecate

The female gengar could only grin with glee as she watched the scene unfolding down below, sheltered from the sight of mortals high above. There was just something so... amusing about this human child. Hecate had seen many things... many wars, many deaths, and through it all, it never ceased to amaze her just how poorly humans were capable of treating each other. And it never ceased to get her laughing either- like a comedy sketch almost- look at them, these hairless Primeapes prancing around with their superiority, their supposed "Chosen Nature", and yet what do they do with their power?

They kill one another, of course! Kill and destroy, murder and mayhem! It was what humans do... they take and take and take and...

"Gen..." She sighed to herself. There was no point trying to stall anylonger, as much as she was enjoying the little fiasco. Khan had told her to take care of the police, afterall... and, here they were. And for a human, Khan... he wasn't someone she thought of crossing lightly. It was best to get the shitstorm started...

May the mayhem... begin.

Nikki

The sound of cuff's being unlatched sounded the minute she hit the floor. Two SWAT officers dashed over as the other's kept their weapons trained on the girl, each of them locking her eyes with a cold, callous stare... heartless to the brutality of the situation. The two were nearly to her side before something...bright flashed in the area. Something bright and colorful. It flashed again...and again... and again... the SWAT followed it with their eyes, heads swiveling to one side, then back to the other, as if they were canines mesmorized by a laser pointer. Then all at once, every one of the black armors there started to stumble over their own feet as they struggled to keep balance, dropping their weapons and teetering as if they were in stupors; but teeters was not a strong enough word to describe their hangovers... a drunk man would've had better coordination than their pitiful, pitiful state. One of them (Thankfully neither of those near Nikki...) even went so far as to double over and vomit from the sheer disorientation, splattering the concrete beneath them with a foul, pungent mess as they struggled to support themselves.

And yet... Nikki herself felt no effects. Whatever the attack was, it had to be the mark of a master- to be able to focus the effect to such a degree as to pinpoint the exact targets of a move supposedly capable of striking indiscriminately... it would've taken practice, effort, skill. And atop a shipping crate in the distance, Nikki could just make out a vaguely humanoid blob hovering against the pale grey sky... A Cheshire grin stretching it's twisted maw as it whacked a finger in the same monotonous, dizzying motion the light traveled in.

On deck

Khan paid no attention to the phenomena occurring just out on the docks... only smirked as he kept walking away.

Yuzuki ((and more or less anyone else in earshot))

"I think that's already taken care of..." Said the strange woman Yuuki had seen before, this time approaching the railing beside her. The girl could see little of her face- most of it hidden by a hood as white as the frigid slush coating the docks, a matching white long coat not too different in design from Khan's, fully buttoned down her torso and hugging her figure with pants just as pure in color. Her voice lacked the burden of age however... she was probably not much older than Yuuki herself, from the ring of it. She did not make eye contact, only stared at the lightshow- which, Yuuki would notice, seemed to lack an effect on those onboard despite clearly messing with the SWAT...

"That's Khan for you..." The woman sighed. She had to admit... he had her going there for a mintue- half torn between either walking over there and slapping some damn sense back into his sorry skull, or just outright searing him to the bone... "Always the thinker, always has a plan..."

Since the Titan had fell a while ago, Felix fell straight on his rear in a daze at the amazingly difficult feat of the handful of them bringing the beast crashing down. He huffed, slumped over some random boxes, watching the smoldering fires die out. He wasn't quite sure what was going on right now, except for his loyal servant - the Porygon-Z - floating around him in slow circles, beeping and chirping in an infrequent cadence. He looked at the pink and blue floating automaton, each of them staring the other in the face.

He sighed. "Man I don't think I'll be able to do that for a while."

Felix stood to his feet shaking as he grabbed his backpack that had separated from his shoulders somehow in his drop to the floor. He slung it back over his shoulder as he heard some strange noises coming from different corners of the ship. Then he wondered to himself; what had become of his avian foe from before?

Nikki grimaced, a malmirrored reflection of the grin from above. Evidently she was wanted elsewhere, why else would they deliberately interfere and antagonise the police in such a way that Nikki would be considered a worse perpetrator?

"So much for trusting in the mercy of the law, now there's no chance of that happening." Nikki grumbled as she scrambled onto her feet, looking around at the disabled guards. Now the question was: Did she get back onto the boat? With the man who wanted her to act as some sort of soldier in a war on some shady bad guys?

Nikki wasn't interested in heroism. Then again, the boat was probably the best way of getting away and not being shoved onto the other side of the morality fence.

Grumbling curses, Nikki jogged up the boarding plank, glaring at Khan. "I don't know if it was you specifically or just someone in your little group but you just fucked my chances of resolving things smoothly with that little move."

Joey

Joey stayed where he was as he watched the scene unfolding with nikki and the cops. Ishamael seemed to be satisfied enough with his recent victory, but... how well would his partner hold up against the Police? This was vermilion afterall; there would likely be more than just a few electric types at their disposle... and as much as he hated the think very much about it, the sad fact was that, against more than potentially a few zaps, even his old friend wouldn't be able to just shrug it off, but then there was also Nikki to consider. The SWAT team was definitely over zealous with their response at best, it's not like she had gone done there brandishing a pokemon or something...

He seemed to be fortunate enough to not have to make that decision though, at least for now.

Someone's Gengar had already stepped it instead. And Nikki seemed to have already managed to hop back onboard.

Mr. Hell-Chicken ((Darvan))

With everyone so focused on the commotion with the cops, no one had noticed as the sole fire type still conscious managed to haltingly wander it's way to the dead body Khan had simply left among the charred rubble of the deck. Ramses made no sound as he gazed down into his master's face, nor as he noted the inhuman agony and terror frozen in his features, nor the blood trickling down pale cheeks from the lips, or the oddly bent angle of the man's spine. His body was rigid as a statue, his eyes beginning to burn with steam as he felt something the moisture trail down his avian face...

Where the hell had he been when they did this to him? Where had he been while while Exon was tortured like this?

It...it had to be the Space Duck's trainer who did it...Damn it, he should've killed him when he had the chance!

But that worthless fuck would pay for this...Ramse did not doubt it, because he would make sure they did...

He would make sure they pay for everything.

Khan ((everyone))

"I don't know if it was you specifically or just someone in your little group but you just fucked my chances of resolving things smoothly with that little move."

"It's not my fault that your attempt to surrender was ruined." Khan replied, hlating just before the door. "Long before you made your choice and walked down that ramp, I had already given Hecate orders to delay and occupy the police when they arrive in order to give us a long enough escape window. She would've acted to carry out those orders regardless of whether or not you had been there. There's no point raging at me; I gave fair warning that if you left the boat, you're on your own, fend for yourself... my actions were purely in the interest of those who decided to stayed onboard."

Without giving any time for a response, he pulled open the thick steel door as if it were nothing, literally vanishing into the darkness of the other side with a heavy slam.

A few seconds later, the entire vessel lurched as the engines roared to life and the craft slowly began to pull away from the wharf.

But... despite Khan's mechanations, they weren't entirely out of rough waters just yet. There were half a dozen dots on the horizon, blazing white and blue as they jetted across the water's surface, clear and cold sea foam thrown in their wake as the grew. It seemed that Johnny Law had access to seacraft as well... fast seacraft.

Watching the man disappear behind an iron door he just pulled out of his pocket was interesting to say the least. Though Lloyd couldn't be nit picking at details seeing as police boats are coming from the horizon. Judging by their appearance they seem to have faster boats as well, so no outrunning them. Lloyd thought he might as well ask the big question, "So anyone got a plan for dealing with the upcoming nuisance?"

Nikki growled slightly, verbally incapable of voicing her frustration. "Well you saw my plan get shot to hell." She said to the guy who had the Absol. "BirdJesus Christ but I wish I could keep things within legal bounds. You know how likely our chances are to be league champions AND convicts? Jack shit, I'll tell you that".
