Ursine Stance
I've tried to beat the gym like 20 times, run my team in every way possible. I was wondering if someone could tell me a tip to deal with this team? Or if you want to try it on my file to beat it for me that'd be great too... I beat the gym thanks to 2 lucky crits. Thank you to anyone who tried to beat it though. Sorry...Picture of my team - http://puu.sh/jjhXt/bbb8204f69.png Game.rxdata Edited July 30, 2015 by Ursine Stance
Omega_Ra1der
please be more descriptive about your team, at first glance, magnezone should be able to wrestle half of her team however archeops and gliscor stops it easy, same for altaria. So swampert should be able tank the former 2 but gardevoir if it has moonblast, put it out of altaria. I will give your file a shot though. Magnezone gets two shot along with all of my team, but I actually just beat it because of 2 lucky crits. I'll keep the post, I'll just say it's solved. Monochrome_Complex
Idk, winning by luck, while cool, isn't very good for the future of your team because you might ever learn to correctly identify your weaknesses. Remember that we'll face Heather at some point who is also a flying specialist IIRC and probably much harder. Yeah I know, I really want a Blaziken but they aren't obtainable, Pidgeot is only on my team cause it's shiny. I would change a lot but I don't have much to choose from. Usually battles are pretty easy. This one just sucked since they countered literally everything about my team.
Masquerain
My own experience with the gym was too short with the team in my trainer card. At first I got demolished by her Noivern due to a bad lead and not knowing what to expect. Then I switched lead and it was a game of speed and dmg I guess. My team just really didn't like Archeops and Noivern, everything else was ok. Honchkrow and Flygon had to carry the fight, in short. When I got to Altaria and saw the mega....I was like "wat" -stares back at my 1 remaining ninetales and nearly dead flygon and honchkrow- ..."wellp-" So I got a sucker punch in and was left with a potentially 1shottable ninetales and a nearded flygon. And yet Altaria was also quite near death so I took my chances with Flygon and it outsped soooo..victory! I guess I'll post back here when I get there with my poison team, since it's less random than my other team..
Imperial
I swept half of her team with my Magnezone rather easily. Give it an Air Balloon, the AI can't deal with it and will try to use EQ

Imperial
Well, it was not really voluntary. I used the Air Balloon to last long enough to use magnet rise, but finally the balloon was enough x)
Dragon116
Overall I didn't find Ceil's team all that great. Togekiss, Archeops, and Mega Altaria are great, Noivern, Gliscor, and Talonflame were pretty shitty. But I suppose they were needed since those first three had the potential to wreck most teams. bepe
Talonflame was the biggest problem for me when I faced her. It outsped and killed most of my team since they're pretty frail.
BlackMage
Altaria was the biggest problem for me. In the end, I had to rotate my team and bring out my Magnezone.
Monochrome_Complex
Dude what? Archeops was the easiest for me since just getting it down to half makes it a lot less threatening. Togekiss is a matter of luck, sometimes it's not that bad, other times it ruins the match for you. Gliscor is near impossible to One-shot without ice moves, a lot of set-up or a really strong water type. Those STAB field boosted earthquakes HURT. Acrobatics not as much but still. Noivern's boosted boombursts hurt and it's extremely fast. Talonflame's BS ability guarantees damage even if it's not that hard to KO. I really can't agree with people finding Ciel a pushover or easy, but again, I had no ice moves or types so that's probably part of it.

Although I won on my first try, it was still close. The main thing that tipped the scales in my favor was the crummy AI, since her Noivern would use Heat Wave against my Archeops instead of Boomburst or a Dragon-type move, and her Talonflame (assuming it has Gale Wings) refused to use Brave Bird against said Archeops. I can't wait until the AI gets fixed up.

I think her team is kind of like Kiki, be faster and stronger and you will have little trouble overall... then again, maybe it also had to do with my team being around lv73-4 as opposed to people who started in ep15 and having pokemanz in the late 60s
Dragon116
Assuming you survive to attack Archeops, it should die in one hit. However, it's moveset along with overwhelming speed and attack made it hard for most to survive. Like I said, Togekiss, Archeops, and Mega Altaria were the main problems for almost any team. BreezyPonie
Ehhh, I know this is kind of outdated since you already won but no wonder you couldn't beat the stupid Gym Leader, half your team is above the level cap and your Pidgeot is/was underleveled by 7. mrverifyme
I used a Boldore to set up Stealth Rocks, it dies; swapped to my Durant got rid of Togekiss, swapping to Cofagrigus, set up Trick Room and Rhyperior demolished the rest until I discovered Mega Altaria. The next time I set up trick room against it the and beat the Altaria easily. Also nice trick with the Air Balloon.
Darvan Korematsu
Ciel was probably one of the easier Gym Leaders for me. Basically I used a rotation of Magnezone and Azumarill. Literally what Magnezone couldn't beat face with, Azumarill could.
bepe
Azumarill was also key for me since it could take a hit from talon flame and KO it.

Archeops isn't dangerous at all. Just bring a fast mon and bring its hp down to half, which actually can happen in one turn as it has frail defenses, then its just another oblivious team member. However Togekiss and Altaria were the main problems for me and I assume others as well.
Qoseph
I had to rely on Archeops being choice-locked into the wrong move. Otherwise it would sweep my team with acrobatics.
Frostilicious
Im surprised so many people had trouble against Ciel. I beat her on my first try without even resetting the battle to have a better heads start or sth. All her pokemon just died to 1 shot or didn't deal dmg. Another Felix
She, Terra, and Samson were actually the easiest leaders for me on my main run. Led with Klinklang, got her to use Nasty Plot so I could set up Shift Gear. Gear Grind took it out. She sends out Archeops, same deal. Then it was either Gliscor or Talonflame. Gliscor was mauled by Beartic through brute strength, Talonflame went down to Golem. Don't remember her other one, but for Altaria, I had Klinklang use Metal Sound on it, then had Delphox Psyshock it a few times to death.
bepe
Why use metal sound then psyshock, doesn't metal sound lower special defense?
