Guest MegaMagikarp
Okay, so here is the deal. I am a very picky trainer, and have certain things that I like; however, I can also work with anything. I played through a couple other games and got a good feel for a lot of the Pokemon (I haven't played since Red/Blue prior to that) and now am unsure what direction to take my Reborn team. I have no trouble with the game yet, but i don't want to get stuck depending on one Pokemon. So, here is the sitch. I just beat the double battle bug gym and my current lineup is: 1)Grimer (waiting to be a Muk) 2) Blastoise 3) Simisear 4) Skuntank 5) Onix (waiting for Shade's gym to grab the metal coat and turn him into Steelix) 6) Rosalia (waiting on the shiny stone) My backups are: 1) Either Pumpkaboo, Cacnea or Tropicus to replace Rosy. Unfortunately, I like the Rose and Tropicus has a small spread of moves and is too weak to everything; Cacnea is sick, but a bit weighted; pumpkaboo I know nothing about. I just like all three's designs. 2) Lioone: raised him up to lv. 30 and he has pickup. He was great for so long, but his stats aren't climbing like the rest. 3) MAYBE Tynamo... never used and am apprehensive. 4) Smoochum, maybe, although I am leery of how she can fit in the team. 5) Sandshrew... found a shiny and he looks cool. Not sure on potential or growth. 6) Croagunk ... that dude is insane. Anyway, I don't know what happens after Shade and just want to avoid getting stuck with the regular Pokemon or game-breakers. I am looking for a unique spread. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Like I said... my team is fine now, but I just want variety cause I am enjoying this. Any suggestions? mde2001
I'd go with more than six pokemon and rotate them based on the circumstances. Linoone is good for pickup but not the actual battles, I'm not a fan of muk but if you are go with him. I'd recommend replacing Simisear as he really isn't very good. My personal preference is Numel but others may work (you'll be able to catch a lot of them near the fighting gym). The smoochum could be useful for Aya and a couple of others but there are better ice types and better psychic types out there. Croagunk is just a good pokemon. Anyway- that's just advice. In the end go with what you want.
Guest MegaMagikarp
Thanks! I like Muk just by the sheer level of growth he moves from Grimer-->Muk. I will have to evaluate his move sets though. I like Simisear because he has basically led me through the game so far and he knows acrobatics. I can look into other fire Pkmn though; maybe breed in the next one with Sim so his legacy moves on. I am glad to hear about Croagunk. Appreciate the advice.
Fumble
You won't be getting a Shiny Stone for a while still, so replace Roselia with Pumpkaboo. Gourgeist is one of the bulkiest Pokemon there is in Reborn, especially with Will-o-Wisp and Leech Seed. Also, you don't want to use Tynamo. At least, not yet. Once you can evolve it into Eelektross, it's worth using. But as a Tynamo, it literally gets 5 moves... And yeah, Rotation Teams are really nice in Reborn. You get shiny stone early, at the azurine swamp or however its called xD, but better let Roselia reach level 50 for petal dance then evolve it. Btw, Toxicroak is good, but it is really frail and kinda slow. Medicham would do the trick tbh or Gallade or even Scrafty. What i basicly do with my team is blend my favorite pokemon which are the strong, but frail types with bulky ones. For example, instead of using a Gardevoir as a fairy this time and toxicroak as a fighting i decided to use Clefable for the fairy typing which has its' poison weakness, but takes out dragons+fighting on the special side while replacing toxicroak with Medicham for Poison coverage and extra bulk + probable 1Hkos with H.J.K and can finish off targets with BP. Both Medicham and Clefable are bulkier in general than Gardevoir and Toxicroak. Edited August 8, 2015 by timbla

Yeah, Moxie Scrafty is one of the best Fighting types ingame.

True but based on their damage and general effectiveness i think Medicham is way more useful due to Pure Power + Larger movepool.
