GrapebearMZ
It's hard as a petrified dinosaur turd but it's really dang fun, my only problem seems to be deciding on a team in the early game, I had a lot of trouble with the second gym. Cain's probably my favorite character with FERN being my least favorite. It's a pretty dang solid game and I'd love to see more! I have Grotle, Loudred, Slugma, Swirlix, and Herdier on my team so far and I plan on keeping Herdier to the end. I remember I had a destroyer of worlds...what's the name of that evolution of herdier? Anyways here's to hoping I do better and better!
SnowGlaceon
Glad to hear that you're enjoying the game! It really is pretty fun, and hard for people who aren't used to the lack of OP pokemon. I recommend keeping Grotle/Torterra for a while. I still have mine (finished ep15) and it still eats souls. I had a Stoutland too, but it was replaced eventually. Still a solid pokemon, so I say go for it. But yeah, you'll do a lot of team shuffling over the next few gyms. Try to catch as many pokes as you can, so that if you come across a gym you aren't prepared for, you have mons you can train up to help. Good luck! TimTim
Collect some heart scales(by mining when you have mining kit) for Stoutland/Exploud, elemental fangs for better coverage~
Dragon116
Also, when you come across event pokemon, make sure you save before interacting as you have the opportunity to soft reset until they have the EVs and/or egg move you want. For instance, Air Slash is my requirement when I get to Emolga as it's the best flying move available next to Fearow's Aerial Ace.
Arkhi
I love your comparison. Once that lovely Loudred evolves, it'll become a.. kinda alright special attacker.
Combat
A good way to grind is to do "fail" runs on harder trainers. The best thing to do before that is to use as much money as humanly possible at shops as such, so there's little to no punishment for losing. Also, be sure to be ready to switch your team around, as having "benched" teams will make your life easier. Also note that doing certain side quests will can potentially make the game harder. Some gyms will change what kind of terrain they use, which can lead to either easier, or harder battles. I would also highly recommend getting a strong fire type Pokemon in the near future, as there are several stages that certain fire moves cab destroy, which may or may not help you. Xenome
For fire types you should be approaching the police event which will mean you can get a growlithe, maybe think about a dark type and a ground type too. In early game that's mightyena and maybe scrafty, and ground should have swinub, geodude, and numel. also the gothita event should be approaching and you should already be able to get meowstic, those are really the types that you'll need soon. Kiryuu
Hehh, I'm impress. The new people usually complain that the game is impossible. Credits to you my friend Good luck facing the Ghosts Gym... Feel free to ask for help
biboo195
You're always welcomed here. Feel free to ask questions if you're having a problem defeating a gym leader or a boss. Well at least you're not the type of people that sits around and whines about how hard the game is all day every day.
Masquerain
Glad to hear you're aiming to improve instead of giving up and condemning everything as way too hard to be real. Keep it up and keep enjoying the game !
Monochrome_Complex
Try to get something with flash fire if you can, and something that has a terrain changing move(ampharos or heliolisk with electric terrain, mist, etc). A lot of times a simple change of scenery can a difficult battle that much easier.
Dragon116
Also Gimmiky pokemon are your friends. Perish Song = Prankster Murkrow, or Sturdy Leech Seed = Lv1 Bonsly. Perish song is the best bet as you'll avoid full restores. You could also spam poison/paralysis until they run out of full heals/restores. Static Emolga with Nuzzle saved me so many times. Monochrome_Complex
Emolga and Pachi tear up the early-early mid game with nuzzle/electroball combo. Voltorb is not too shabby either since it can set up screens and outspeeds like nearly everything as Electrode which is great in setting up light screens, just know he's rather limited in his offense to electric moves and mirror coat.
