ScuzBrains
Generation 1: Pokemon is officially "a thing" Generation 2: There's more Pokemon than "the original 151" Generation 3: Formes are introduced (Deoxys) Generation 4: Evolutions are given to previous generation evolution lines Generation 5: Fusion Pokemon are "a thing" Generation 6: Mega Evolution is "a thing" The game changes forever every time a new generation of Pokemon is released. Two also introduced breeding, and new forms of evolution, and three, double battles.
Commander
I doubt this'll be an HP thing, but more of a Kyurem scenario if anything. There probably will be an item in order to change Zygrade's forms, but that last one might be an equivalent to a Mega (and that's the only one I know they'll make for the game). If you've also looked at Zygrade's data, he has a few special moves that are very well hidden among his data which may be a move that is altered by the forms like Kyurem's is. Topping all this up, they make a new gen every 3-4 years. There's some Japanese chart that illustrates it perfectly somewhere. To type it down, this is all true in that the interval between the introduction of a new gen took 3 years, that is with the exception of Gen 4, that took an extra year. 1996 was Gen 1. 1999 was Gen 2. 2003 was Gen 3. 2007 was Gen 4. 2010 was Gen 5. 2013 was Gen 6. Unless this is gonna be another Gen 4 shift and take an extra year, who knows? Gen 7 incoming? Raindrop Valkyrie
Anyone else notice that the Type for the Ultimate form is confirmed and yet all of the others are not known? Does that mean they are changing type? It seems pretty blatant that Ultimate was revelaed to be still Dragon/Ground and yet the others weren't confirmed as they are different types. ThumsRipa
Honestly, I was imagining Zygarde to shift in form every turn. Like, it takes him 4 turns to get to max form, kinda like Regigigas, except he does get more powerful each turn. It'll be an interesting mechanic, I'm not sure how it would work in programming but yeah. Or maybe he has a move that can transform him like Rayquaza. I'm hoping Ash's Greninja means something for the games, but I won't be surprised if it ends up being just an anime one-off thing. Oh well. Either way, I'm hyped XD
TimTim
I hope they would rename it 'cause i read the kanji(basically Mandarin) and this whole 完全体 kanzentai deal smells a lot like digimon~and then this 结合 means combine/fusion and 巨大化 gigantification, i dont like what this is going~ Edited September 12, 2015 by TimTim
Swampellow
Serebii has an article here about all these new forms. It says that the Zygarde we got in XY was its 50% form, the dog form is it 10% form, and the giant is its Perfect form. It also mentions how the little blob with the red is a Zygarde core and if it combines with multiple of the blobs with gray/black on them it becomes the "brain" of the further zygarde forms. Makes me curious as to if a certain amount of "cells" as they are called are needed to create each form, Core+1 for 10%, Core+3 for 50%, Core+5 for perfect or somethin akin to that. With the serebii article I'm inclined to think that it is like Zen mode Darmanitan. Given that out current form is called 50% form and the dog is called 10% form. Also I think that the pink thing in the back in the Anistar Sundial.
Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted September 12, 2015 Global Mods Share Posted September 12, 2015 I wonder how that works, biologically. Did Zygarde just scatter itself across Kalos for whatever reason? Could there theoretically be more than one Zygarde, if more than one cluster of cells gather and there are enough of them? dead account
I wonder how that works, biologically. Did Zygarde just scatter itself across Kalos for whatever reason? Could there theoretically be more than one Zygarde, if more than one cluster of cells gather and there are enough of them? According to its Pokédex entries: Zygarde is said to be monitoring people who endanger the ecosystem, and it only reveals its power when the ecosystem falls into disarray. The idea of Zygarde monitoring anything from the deepest part of a cave never really made sense to me before, but I think the reason Zygarde's cells are scattered throughout Kalos are for precisely this purpose: to monitor Kalos for potential threats to the ecosystem. Once they identify a potential threat, they then rush back to a safe place, like Terminus cave, to form up one of Zygarde's more powerful forms to deal with the threat. Tringus
So basically, the Zygarde cells are like a hive that's spread all over Kalos. Once there's a threat, they gather up and turn into a Transformer. Honestly, I like this idea more than just Zygarde monitoring from Terminus Cave, so that's not bad of an idea, Aquawaffle. Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted September 12, 2015 Global Mods Share Posted September 12, 2015 That makes sense. I wondered how it "monitored" the ecosystem before, because that wording kind of made it seemed like it was omniscient. But, if its cells are scattered in different locations, it would be able to keep track of several places at once without drawing attention to itself. Tringus
If Zygarde Cells functioned like bees, then perhaps there is a Leader Zygarde Cell merged with a Zygarde Core already, and so that's how it monitors the rest of the cells. That might be how it's omniscient.
BIGJRA
While everyone's talking about Zygarde, all I can say is... XY introduced trainer customization so Z must be including.... POKEMON CUSTOMIZATION WOOO
AuthorReborn
Building off Aqua's idea, the 10% form could also be used as a faster scout for advanced reconnaissance when something comes up so Zygarde can keep tabs on a developing situation while gathering in all the other cells since the dog has already been said to be quite fast. Is it supposed to just be used water shuriken or is that an actual part of its design? Along with the Gallade-esc arms and similiar blue things on its head. Tringus
Can this also be the XY+Z thread as well? I just noticed that some of Team Flare's Admins (Bryony and Xerosic) are in the clips above Zygarde's Perfect Forme. Does this mean that XY+Z is when Team Flare will officially debut? Yeah, I think we're right on the verge of seeing Team Flare in-anime, they might even debut in the movie, and for once movie events will tie more into anime canon(like that'll ever happen)
Alex
I don't really care for the new Greninja form, but I guess it's cool. Zygarde blob is cute though, and I want GardeDog because it looks cool. The idea of MEGA ZORDGARDE is kind of hilarious but I'm not sure what to make of it. ... I also now want to see what a ZyGardevoir would look like.
Etesian
Really not a fan of Greninja getting even more attention, but it's nice to see Zygarde getting some love (weird love that splits it into forms, but love). Wonder if you can actually use the core/cell form in combat
Fumble
I'm still confused as to how a dog evolved to a snake thing to a weirder robot Power Ranger thing.
dead account
I'm still confused as to how a dog evolved to a snake thing to a weirder robot Power Ranger thing. The cells aren't locked into place when Zygarde takes a form. As more cells gather, Zygarde can freely move its cells to take on an entirely different appearance than its previous form. That's how a Zygarde doggy can turn into a giant snake, and then into a Gundam wannabe, because the cells don't just pile onto Zygarde, they can also move around into different places when needed. Then again, this is just speculation. I don't know what GF is thinking. Edited September 13, 2015 by aquawaffle

Sevonic
I think that the Zygarde form depicted on the CoroCoro poster looks like absolute garbage. I can't even see a face, make out the body, and I certainly dont even know what the hell it's supposed to be. That Greninja form is pretty awesome, though.
