Well, it wasn't 2.9 but meh, who cares. Kingdom Hearts 2.8 [Final Chapter Prologue] consists of

Kingdom Hearts DDD (Dream Drop Distance) HD Remaster, Kingdom Hearts X Back Page, and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep 0.2 -A Fragmentary Passage-

Here is the trailer from the 2015 Sega Press Conf.

I get 3D and I guess Fragmented passage is a mini movie explaining Aquas shiz?

I don't know Back page tho

Back Page is the cutscene movie of X and 0.2 is like the Volume 2 that never came out but is playable.

And we forever remain in decimal limbo of KH.

Like, do we really need THIS much backstory? It's nice and all but all these games came out fairly recently though.

I hope you don't need to know all that. I know for II it was kind of nice to have played CoM as it explained so much of the start, but...there's like 8 games between II to III (or something close to that). At this point, I'm not really sure what to think of III.

Seeing as a prominent part of III is to tie up Every loose end left by the prior game in the Xehanort Saga, which is all of them, I think you kinda will. It's fine tho, picking up the decimals is actually worth

I'm actually really happy about this because so many people missed out on DDD simply because they refused it play a handheld console or didn't own a 3DS, which is pretty sad because it's easily one of the most enjoyable titles in the series in my opinion.

Also in regards to the decimal releases we've been seeing, they're merely there so that people can play the games in a more modern light for those who have played them before, or to offer a way of playing them for those who have not and don't feel like dealing with the completed dated appearance the original releases have. They also include little extras of things that like someone else said, help tie up the loose ends that so many things in this series have, but are not required to know to enjoy the games.

I mean, the Decimal releases are all Final Mix versions of the games, which means more content than the originals anyway for anyone not japanese since iirc the final mixes had not been released outside of the country.

Still, what you need to know is the plot for 358/2 days and BBS seeing as the protagonists will ~probably~ be playing a larger role now in the main series

I just saw the price is going to be 59.99 to pre-order...sorry, but I might have to pass on this one and just by DDD for 3ds and youtube the rest. 40 would've been more reasonable, but 60 is a bit too high for my liking.
