So in the game, Norman gives Wally a Zigzagoon in order to help him catch his first Pokemon, then he gives it back after he catches a Ralts. Then, when you fight Norman later in the game, he uses a Linoone. The theory is that that Linoone is the Zigzagoon that he gave Wally at the start of the game. I forgot where I heard this theory but I found it kind of interesting. Even if this were true, it wouldn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but it would of been a neat attention to detail if it was intentional. Fan-theory like this are always fun. Cepheus Posted September 18, 2015 Share Posted September 18, 2015 It would only apply to Emerald... in Ruby and Sapphire (and remakes: OR/AS) he uses: Slaking, Vigoroth, Slaking in Emerald he uses: Spinda, Vigoroth, Linoone, Slaking and this is the ONLY time he uses a Linoone... the first Gym-battle. for every other battle (Emerald Re-matches, B2/W2-PWT Battles) he doesn't have Linoone in his team Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What I read was that XY take place after B2W2, and that they didn't specify the exact amount of time between them because they wanted us to guess ourselves. TimTim Posted September 19, 2015 Share Posted September 19, 2015 Well, a gym leader usually trains up to more than 6 mons for his/her/xyr disposal, doesnt necessarily mean that they only have one same species mon, could be Norman owns like a multiple Zigzagoon/Linoones(Building a Pick Up squad perhaps)? I also guess because Wally (who comes off as shy) just goes up and asks Norman for help catching his first pokemon maybe it's normal in Petalburg city for Norman to help out aspiring trainers and he just has pokemon like zigzagoon on standby for such purposes.
