There are fan-made drivers you can download to enable the Wii U GC adapter to work with PC. I've heard that it works for a lot of people, but it never did for me for whatever reason.

I have a friend that is ravenously into it right now. I guess I'll have to look into it. He showed me some gameplay and it looked a bit choppy and incomplete, so I might wait for a full release.

Well, that either he has a bad pc or because it is a bit game. You are right about the incomplete part.

ah my gc controller adapter came in the mail today, setting up the controls weren't that difficult after looking at a yt guide, so far it's been working perfectly

it'll take me some time to get use to using a gc controller again after playing so much 3ds sm4sh

and if anyone wants to practice with me, steam tag: MrFameMonsta troyferriss add me you scrubs

  • 4 weeks later...

I still wouldn't call them Ken combos... Despite the fact that I missed a move that Fors steals from Marth. (down smash). Those are basic generic combos using moves that are in Lucario's kit. Pretty sure Ken doesn't play Lucario.

He's talking about the Ken Combo, which is the "F-Air, double jump, spike" at the end of that video, where Ken shouts "Ken Combo!" It's a true combo that Ken invented for Marth way back in like 2005, and Forsburn can do the equivalent in this game. (Which is something Lucario can't do.)

New patch came out today! Patch 0.0.8 is live, introducing the new character, Absa!

absa_1920x1080-1024x576.png

Absa is a Pan-esque character appearance wise, though she fights using electric attacks. She has a very strong ranged game while still being competent in close quarters, and seems like she'll be somewhat reliant on using the clouds she can set up effectively. I'll give the brief run-down of her moves.

  Reveal hidden contents

That's pretty much the gist of it. I might add pictures later for each of the moves if I feel like screenshotting them, but I think most people reading this will just test for themselves. If there's anyone without the game that would appreciate pictures I'll be sure to add them, just let me know.

Besides Absa, this patch also has a few balance changes (such as Maypul and Wrastor nerfs) and introduces Developer Mode, which allows players to attempt to balance characters themselves. Developer mode obviously only works in offline modes though. Anyway, the patch is out, so be sure to go play it!
