Is there a pokemon fangame that has broken the 'rule of six'?

A fun fangame that's really different from the usual pokemon is Super Pokemon Eevee Edition - http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=224449

It's got a lot of very different mechanics than normal pokemon and fanmade games, so if you're looking for novelty, it's definitely worth checking out! The game's not done yet but it's getting pretty close, i believe.

There's a pokemon game that was a total gamechanger on the playstation its called Digimon. Pretty different from standard games. (seriously though) there is a game called Pokemon Godra which is like if Zelda, Minecraft and pokemon had a baby.

There are a few fangames that have changed the battle system (there's one I've seen called Pokemon Super Eevee Edition that has four Pokemon in battle at once) but I've never seen one where you could have more than 6 Pokemon in your party. Probably either no one's thought of doing it or just no one's wanted to change it.

Kind of like the rule of two for star wars, except for pokemon.

Like, 8 or more pokemon in a party?

Or a fangame that does something wildly different than any other?

I mean it is possible to make it 8 Pokemon in a party...but why bother? Adding two more Pokemon means reworking the system, most of the graphics, and even possibly some of the main engine for what? The effort required is no where near the reward for extending battles a bit longer.

Limiting the Pokemon available is very possible though as Ruby Destiny: Rescue Rangers is a perfect example of this. Most of the characters available are more story based and it's a different due to the very limited selection instead of Pokemon's main gimmick of every team being different. You'll rarely see someone stretch from the normal formula though.

As for something different, you'll have to be specific. Reborn is something different because it was the original "more challenging kind of Pokemon game" and has broken quite a few boundaries nobody really touched on. Revolution (the project I'm a part of) explores elements that pretty much no other Pokemon fan game creation truly touches on...making it kind of unique. Suzerain's projects have broken so many boundaries with their unique features while still able to call it a pokemon game which really separated him from the others. Snakewood is a hack that...nobody has even tried going back down that lane.

There's someone that's tried to add a "seven move limit" where Pokemon could know seven moves at once but could only use four in battle. From what I hear they had to rework a lot more of the game engine than you'd think, and he didn't even bring the seven moves into battle. I assume that changing the "rule of six" would take as much effort.

My game has a multitype moves mode where a lot of moves are more than one type a la Flying Press. I had to do a lot of recoding myself, to get things to display correctly - getting the damage to work right was easy, I just copied what the Gen VI pack did for Flying Press, the issue was getting everything to look right so the player would know what move did what.
