The5ilverback
I have a Lv.43 Noibat and honestly this thing is complete garbage and worse to train then Drantini as at least once that becomes Dragonair it's actually cool to use and easier to level up. mde2001
I use a Noivern and it is great. It destroys a lot of pokemon. Noibat sucks but given you've gotten it to Level 43 I say reap the benefits of your hard work and use Noivern!
Darvan Korematsu
Hm. Super Fang, Tailwind, Dragon Pulse, Air Slash, Hurricane, Roost, and good TM compatability are reasons enough to use it. It has a breakneck speed and a decent Special Attack to back itself up. I was pretty stupid enough to train it up from a Noibat in the Railnet like you at first, but when it evolved, prepare thy anus. It'll be pretty worth it imo. Although next time you play, get one at a higher level.
Tomahawk
I have one as well and once you get to the higher levels it is a pretty interesting pokemon.
TimTim
I was naive as first too trying to train low level noibat unbeknownst to me that there were much higher level noibat closer to evolution later, so since you are already training it up to level 43, i would say go for another 5 levels more, its totally worth the patience~I bow to you for your immense patience~I caught a higher levelled Shiny Noibat in the end, and with support from my Blastoise rain dance, Hurricane, man, Hurricane all your way~ P.S. Just out of curiosity, what nature is Melody the noibat? Edited September 25, 2015 by TimTim
The5ilverback
Ah so i wasn't only one to get it so early but if it turns into a beast then I might aswelll train it up to Noivern considering I'm only 5 levels off and it does have Infiltrator ability which means no subs or screens effect my attacks. Still this Noibat was hell on earth to train and still is. Matryoshka
It surely may seem like that little guy sucks, especially compared to your current team members, but believe me, once it evolves it will become a real badass. I used Noibat/Noivern in my first run and at some point I also thought about replacing it with other mon, but after it helped me to beat Ciel by annihilating half of her team I'm really glad I didn't. TimTim
Quirky Nature You are able to change nature later in the game(a little spoiler) in exchange for heart scale, quirky nature might not be enough for Noivern to take down foes in swift manner~

BlueMoonIceCream
You probably already know this but heart scales are very important in reborn for a lot of things, so are shards so I'd recommend keeping them and pressing A on everything to get as many as possible. On topic I tried using noibat in one of my playthroughs but I couldn't train it, it was too much effort and I didn't know if it would pay off, but from what I've read in this thread it seems like it would be a really good idea
Tomahawk
When using noibat closer to evolution super fang is pretty useful. It helped me take out one of the aces of a gym leader. BMW what would be a good moveset for Noivern? Edited September 25, 2015 by NinjaGod
Exalted
ok ill be completely honest about noivern its fast as heck and that is what you got to use to you're advantage.its got super fang tailwind makes it a fantastic support it also has access to boomburst the strongest move to not cause any drawbacks even in pp but here it starts to get at it it has a 97 special attk base which not terrible but at the point you get it isn't great either and as we know this game this game is anything but a walk in the park like the original main series games. If you put it as a support pokemon to have around super fang and tail wind leaves about 2 spots so one of them is obviously boomburst(i mean why not great move) now the last either air slash or dragon pulse (there is huricane but that is a gamble flamethrower for coverage but no stab still youre choice) which in reborn makes it a mediocre pokemon as an all rounder like alot of pokemon in this game its shallow movepool in reborn aint helping it so far as well as its borderline useless abilities (i like it to guys but im being honest here for god sake so dont hate me). situationally he can be good to have around in you're box trained and all but as an active member just go for staraptor /crobat or hawluncha as they are much more viable on the spot party pokemon and can make a use of fly(not the best move but better than having a fly slave or using on a sp attcker like noivern to hold it) and this just for an analysis of sets down below check out if you want. but before is it worth having on youre active party maybe only when going against bosses or gyms its useful against it other than that you're choice i am not gonna force my opinion down you're throat i just dont shut up when i start talking yeah sorry about that long review on noivern in reborn Viable sets: Attack type: air slash or huricane dragon pulse flamethrower boomburst Ability:Infiltrator held item:life orb or choice specs(if its in game didn't chack on this one) modest nature 28+ ivs in sp attk and speed(or dont care about this section at all if you're not a competitive battler Support set:Tailwind super fang U turn(if the tms in game or boomburst or flamethrower) roost Ability:Frisk held item:Lum berry/yache berry/focus sash it any of them is ingame or nothing Timid nature 30+ivs in speed 20+ivs in sp attk Quick note if youre reading this you read me talk non stop so thank you for not quiting mid way and crobat can do what noivern can do but better cause its higher speed makes better supp and its large movepool makes up for attk stat and though crobat is almost similar defensively atleast it dosent have a 4 time weakness to anything Side note:i reviewed noivern quite all of it to be precise alot a bit competitively he is viable with other sets but this is what it can do so far with available sets if you can get access to taunt or focus blast he can be much better but still not the best as i may have missed these ingame so far this is it
Monochrome_Complex
He's like the only flying dragon other than Altaria I think you can get at this point soooo yeah that definitely makes him worth using somewhat. That said my teams without him performed better overall than my teams with him. Like he's good, but not dratini-> dragonite or magikarp -> Gyrados good. I think people overrate him slightly.
