Multiple Encounter Pokemon - Please, can we have some more?

TheSilentSerenade

Question

Hi, there,

I just want to say that I was endlessly pleased to discover that I could encounter Joltik, run from it many times, then re-encounter it and retry for a shiny-version Joltik. I also ran from, then re-encountered, Litwick until I encountered a shiny-version Litwick. I then proceeded to catch both shiny Joltik and shiny Litwick. I would love to be able to use this method to shiny-hunt one-time-only Pokémon like Heracross, Pinsir, Solosis and so on, plus other gift and event Pokemon. If the option to do so were to be implemented into future and further episodes, I would go wild for that. I was able to get a shiny Heracross by chance through Soft Reset and I will be trying this method with all other future event and gift Pokémon.

I understand what you're saying, but I would simply suggest soft resetting as the feature you recommend is rendered obselete by soft resetting existing. If you are truly desperate to get your custom shinies, then you can attempt to utilze one of the programs people use for the acceleration of their games. If you choose such as path, just know that doing so can cause problems/save file corruption so always 1. back up your save file (Game.rxdata) and 2. never save with a speed hack enabled.

But... this is not needed.

You can easily save next to an overworld event, and if it's not shiny/doesn't have the desired IV's, ability or nature just simply close your game and re-open it (softreset).

Softreseting take only 2/3 more seconds than running and re-battling those events, so yeah, I don't think Ame will go out of her way a edit all the events just for this.

Actually, I'm not even sure if this

run from it many times, then re-encounter it

is supposed to happen. Unless Ame can't help herself and that's just how it works with Maker XP.

Even if this is supposed to happen, I'd say different events = different situations, so I don't think you'd be able to run from every single event pokémon.

F12 is still just as fast tbh. Like others have stated, I don't think she's about to do that (Be able to run from every event) and make soft-resetting obsolete.

I go out of my way to avoid game-acceleration programs. I will contnue to soft reset my game by manually closing, then reopening my game, as my F12 button doesn't soft reset, even though it is supposed to - it is set as a different shortcut key and it provides me with a different shortcut option.

I don't have huge ammounts of time to devote to soft resetting, though, and so, I will soft reset as much as possible, if not, sporadically, for each event Pokemon.

For event Pokemon that require items to acces them, soft resetting isn't a viable option, as each necessary item is temporary and with each use, that item disappears, which furthermore requires me to re-buy it if possible (for example, the Soul Candle and The Ill-Fated Doll.)

Men, it's just about 4/5 seconds more each time you soft reset, it's not like you loose a lot of time...

What? That shouldn't work like that, if you save, waste an item and then reload without saving the item should be there... are you sure you didn't make a mistake?

I'm sure that I didn't make a mistake. I saved before the gravestone in Beryl Cemetrey which spawns a Shuppet if you have a certain item, and the Shuppet appeared, but it wasn't shiny, and so I soft-reset my game without saving, opened up my game and my item was not there anymore. I don't know what happened to it. I am going to retry for a shiny Shuppet right now.
