Mäddla
Hey there, I lately had my first encounter with PULSE Muk and it was....waaaay too easy. The AI kinda screwed up badly and I wanted to know if anyone else has noticed similar effects. The AI ignored the field effect and rendered itself pretty useless, I was fighting Muk with a Sandslash, so the AI tried to get at me using water type moves. Not bad, ey? The thing is, due to the field effect the Wave "Picked up electricity" and thus had no effect on sandslash at all. The Muk also didn't vary its attacks, it used the same move over and over again hoping for super effectiveness and that was kind of a bummer because otherwise the fight would have been at least of medium difficulty (Use Moonlight again, I dare you, I double dare you). So as someone who doesn't know so much about game programming I've been wondering wether that can be fixed or if it even was intentional (like to demonstrate a failed prototype or something, dunno) and wether you have observed similar occasions (not necessarily against muk). Fumble
Yeah, I've also experienced this in my battle with PULSE Muk. There's a Gym Leader that also has a terrible AI, who likes to spam Earthquake if it's super effective, even if your Pokemon is holding an Air Balloon. Dunno how it could be fixed. pyrromanis
The AI currently is pretty messed up since the update to Essentials 15. But it should be fixed at the new episode I think! Also you need to break the field and turn it from factory field to short-circuit field for this to happen! So I find it interesting that you benefit from the AI in this situation (even if its cheap!)
Administrators Amethyst Posted October 11, 2015 Administrators Share Posted October 11, 2015 Field specific AI is one of the last things we'll do. ... Possibly making an exception for type chart issues like this since they're so blatant. Anyway, it hasn't been done yet so this is currently expected, though not the end product. I agree that it shouldn't be the priority, though, as you said, type issues can be quite a nuisance. Love this game so far btw, amazing job
