Pokemon Reborn Walkthrough Part 1

redshadow6892

Question

Ok I have noticed there is not a lot of walkthroughs for this game, and the ones I have noticed are incomplete. I wish to make a complete one! In order to do this I would love for all of you to help me with this! I will continually update this post and others to bring you as much as I can! If you have anything to add please comment below or send me a message! I will be taking info from alot of old walkthroughs so please correct me when I am wrong! I will be doing this in sections as I am giving time to and I will also provide links to continue the walkthroughs at the bottom of each post!

I would like to give credit to other walkthrought I am following to make this! Chubb's is amazing and very detailed! Check his out! I started playing with Sparsyle-0 walkthrough when I started. It is a little outdated but easy to read and understand for beginners! Check hers out!

Also if you want any details of any Pokemon, I recommend using Serebii.net's Pokedex. The game follows Gen 6 movesets and breeding.

Start of Your Journey!

Controls can be shown below in the spoiler! I, myself, like to use a Bluetooth controller, but you will need a program to set the buttons as keyboard keys. I would recommend JoytoKey. (I will not provide a link. I am sorry, but you may google and find it!)

Arrow Keys: Move
Space: Run
X Key: B button or Open Menu
Z/Enter Key: A button or Talk/Select
Shift: Use Registered Item
A Key: Dismount Tauros/Mega Evolution (way later in the game.)
S Key: Toggle Walk/Run
D: Quick Save
F1: Program Options (Mainly the options set by RPG Maker)
F8: Screenshot
F12: Soft-Reset
Alt+Enter: Some what of a Full Screen (Note that it will not change the resolution you have set in game)

To start your game, you will have to sit through an introduction just like other Pokemon games. After that you will be given a chance to pick your Hero and your name.

The Heroes are listed in the Spoiler with default names.

Females:
Alice

Lucia

Males:

Genderless/Non-Binary:

Soon as you start you are greeted with a exploding train! Looking around you can notice the city is in shambles and the water is polluted. Ame is there to advice you and make sure you are okay. She will tell you to go to the Grand Hall, which is east of where you start. You will also meet the first gym Leader Julia here, which she came to see what caused the explosion. She loves things that go boom.... Pause.... Anyways, make your way to the Grand Hall.

Tip! Talk to everyone you can. Reborn is a huge game. It is not your typical Pokemon game either. Talking to everyone will give you a feel and understand of the game as well as items and info to help along the way!

Walking towards the Grand Hall you should stop and see the lady in the Spoiler and you will get a Potion.

When you finally get to the Grand Hall, you will meet Victoria. She is a fighting type user and also will be one of your rivals in this game. She will take you to talk to Ame. You will now get a chance to choose a starter! All starting at Level 5.

Here is a visual of the starters:
bulbasaur.gifchikorita.giftreecko.gifturtwig.gifsnivy.gifchespin.gif

charmander.gifcyndaquil.giftorchic.gifchimchar.giftepig.giffennekin.gif

squirtle.giftotodile.gifmudkip.gifpiplup.gifoshawott.giffroakie.gif

TIP! Try to pick a Fire or Grass type to start. The first few gyms are hard if you choose Water, but you will have a chance to catch other Pokemon that will help you if you do choose Water. Also Hidden Abilities are on all these Pokemon and it has been made easier to get more Hidden Abilities on other Pokemon as well! There are also Ability Capsules which will allow you to cycle through abilities, even hidden ones! Another thing to know is that shinies are easier to encounter (still very rare though).

After you have chosen your first Pokemon, Victoria will go get hers. As you wait you will be greeted by a very strange boy. (Yes he is a boy despite the way he is dressed!) He will offer you your first battle!

"Pretty Boy" Cain

Pokemon: Nidoran (M), Ability: Hustle, No Item nidoran_m.gifLevel 5/ Scratch, Leer

You can win or lose, doesn't matter, but Cain will say something different depending on what happens. He will then take you down to the Pokemon Center in the Grand Hall and get you healed up. Ame and Victoria will then join you again. Cain will then surprise you with his speech... Then he will leave. Victoria will then battle you. (She will always choose the same Pokemon no matter what you choose.)

Apprentice Victoria

Pokemon: Tepig, Ability: Thick Fat, No Item tepig.gifLevel 5/ Tackle, Tail Whip

Same thing here, win or lose. After the battle you and Victoria will head back up to the main desk and speak to Ame and register for the Reborn League. You will be given a Pokedex, a Pokegear, and Running Shoes right off the bat! Ame will then go downstairs, and Victoria will give you 5 Pokeballs! She will then tell you to find the Peridot Gym, which is owned by Ms. Crazy Boom Boom (Aka Julia.) After you 3rd gym badge you may return here and battle trainers to the right of the main desk. The trainer where vary on the day, but you can battle as many times as you want.

TIP! Do not touch what is shown in the spoiler! It will corrupt your file and the staff at Reborn will have to fix it. I have no idea why it is like that.

There will be a man standing by the door of the Grand Hall who will try to sell you a Pokemon for 500 dollars. (Be warn that this quest will take a while to complete and I will let you know when you can do the next part of it. It is also unfinished as of E15. But the Pokemon is a Ducklett if you wish to get as much down as you can now for the quest.)

If you buy the Pokemon, it will be stolen. Great. You spent 500 dollars and get nothing. Do not worry about the thief just yet, you will have a chance to get him back later.

As you leave the Grand Hall a cutscene of Ame and Police interrogating a man in black with a Torkoal.

Opal Ward

You can try to catch Pokemon if you like, shop for some items to the right of the Pokemon Center in the Grand Hall, or talk to others there as well. Be careful with your spending though, money can go quick in this game if your not careful. There is some grass outs side the Grand Hall if you choose to want a Pokemon right now. They are weak and not worth alot, but you can use them as an HM slave if you wish or train them to be better.
In the grass you can find:
Day: bidoof.gifekans.gifmeowth.gifpatrat.gifpidgey.gifrattata.gif

Night: ekans.gifhoothoot.gifmeowth.gifrattata.gifspinarak.gif

TIP! If you wish to catch anything at night, just change your PCs time settings! This will allow you to switch fast from Morning, Evening and Night to catch those Pokemon. Also if you catch a Bidoof, they learn Headbutt through level up which can be used on some trees to catch more pokemon!

Headbuttable Tree Pokemon: combee.gifpineco.gifspearow.gif

As you try to leave the Grand Hall's stairs, there will be a girl with a Snubbull in the way. She will complain about how the Snubbull will not listen to her because she does not have the right badge to control it. I will talk more about this girl and Snubbull later in the game.
You may go to the right or left here and go up the bridge stairs just to be blocked by a trainer and be forced to battle them. After beating one of them (you can talk to the other and battle him but he wont stop you) you can climb the stairs to battle more trainers. This area is one of the few who will continue to gain Trainers as you go through the game as you will have to revisit this area a lot. There will be a trio of trainers in the top right of the bridge. They will be cornering a Pokemon, which varies. Please note that you may battle the first trainer with only one Pokemon, but the other two will not battle you unless you have two Pokemon in your party. When you do have two Pokemon they will have a double battle with you. After you beat them the scared Pokemon will join your team.
The Scared Pokemon can be: Pachirisu pachirisu.gifLevel 3/ Growl, Bide
Or: Panpour panpour.gifLevel 3/ Scratch, Play Nice

Or: Zigzagoonzigzagoon.gifLevel 3/ Tackle, Growl

Or: Wingull wingull.gifLevel 3/ Growl, Water Gun

You will have a chance to get one more of these Pokemon later on!

After you beat the trainers around the bridge and got one of the Pokemon. Head back towards the train station.

MORE TO COME! PLEASE COMMENT BELOW IF I MISSED ANYTHING OR IF ANYTHING HAS CHANGED! A LINK TO PART 2 WILL BE PUT BELOW THIS AFTER I HAVE MADE IT!

Chubb beat you to this by about a day.

You can find it here http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18196#entry435696

Its nice to know some one else is doing it too! But please allow me to do this. You never know when some one may enjoy my guide over his and vice versa. Please just let me know if there is anything I need to add!

I really don't think there's a third guide needed, when the one made by Chubb has already been pinned.

You're free to keep going, but don't expect much out of it as of now.

I hope to change how you think about my guide. I do not want it to be above anyone's but I just want it to be seen and help others. I am going to continue to edit and make it the best I can and I hope you will continue to give me feedback on it.

If you wanted this guide to be cleaner you should have reserved some posts, because now people would have to scroll through pages to reach the next stage of the guide..

No. I will continue to make new posts as I go. I do not know how to reserve posts or anything. Which is why I will put a links in the posts so you can navigate to each one with ease. Also Part One will be posted always on my profile.

It should be fine wytch. If he needs to get the space back, he can just message me or any of the Global Mods to delete posts (including this one).

That being said, I wish you the best luck with this guide like I did with Chubb.

While I still have my doubts about this I figure if it is going to be here I might as well give some advice.

Firstly, I'm not sure if you're replaying the game as you go but if you aren't you should. Using Sparsyle's guide is fine but there isn't much point to this existing if you aren't checking for things that are new and so on. If you're making a guide you need it to have pretty much everything.

On the topic of Sparsyle's guide, you seem to just be paraphrasing it which isn't really a great idea. You aren't going to express your ideas coherently unless you write it yourself which means you'll need to stop relying on that guide (you've also seemed to use a bit from Chubb's with similar paraphrasing. The same logic applies in that case. I'll get into why that is an even bigger problem later).

In terms of the actual format, take Simon's suggestion to get posts (including this one) deleted. We don't need 100 threads for this guide. Putting it all in one is the only way anyone is ever going to use this.

Now on to some inaccuracies. Firstly, the books do not corrupt your save data. While they cause issues and get you stuck corruption of save data is a completely separate thing. This is where my point about paraphrasing comes in. Using slightly inaccurate synonyms can cause the meaning of a sentence to be lost. Secondly, there are currently no guarantees as to what the egg is. When we return to the city in E16 it may be a Magikarp. It was a Ducklett before the egg got moved but this doesn't mean it is still one.

Lastly, a bit of proofreading wouldn't hurt. Some of your sentences don't really make sense.

Overall, I do have my doubts about this guide and think it needs some work but if you are going to do it you should make sure you do it well and make it a guide worth using. So I guess all I can say is good luck and make sure it is accurate.

I disapprove of this for various reasons.

- OP is copying work from two other in-progress guides (one being outdated, one being newly made)

- The grammar. Call me nit-picky, but grammar is very important when making an actual guide. And call me a nit-picky person when it comes to grammar, but your grammar isn't exactly top-notch from what I've "read" so far.

- You are literally copying bits and pieces from other people's guides and claiming them as your own. The image with the red circle and red arrow and the books? The exact same image used in Chubb's guide. Same image link, I checked.

- Your so-called claim regarding the matter of the books in the Grand Hall corrupting your savefile? False. Your character simply gets frozen exactly two steps to the right of the books. Which leads to the next thing; knowledge on the game itself. Now I don't know whether you've completed Episode 15.1 or not, and quite frankly, I don't really care whether you do or did not. It seems you're quite literally copying whatever Chubb is currently writing up in his guide and adding a few images here and there to make things looks fancy.

I'm expressing this again, you're literally taking bits and pieces from other people's hard work and claiming them as your own "guide".
