MechsftwStan
I finally got a metagross with satisfactory IV's, nowhere near perfect but oh well. Adamant nature as well~ Now, besides 252 attack EV's, where should the other 256 go? its HP IV's are its worst IV set, sadly, so would putting the rest into speed (31 IV's) be a good idea? Simon
Yes, that would be the best place to put the rest of the EVs into it.
Arkhi
It depends. If you don't have something to take a physical hit, Metagross can fill that niche well, though it's also good for taking special hits.
laggless01
Depends on what you want to run. You can go for a bulky set, an Agility set... (I chose the second one, since I got a Jolly one)(P.S. Bullet Punch will come in handy on a certain field...)
Etesian
Depends on what Metagross you're running. Metagross only real flaw is it's Speed, so most people run either Bullet Punch for priority or Agility. Agility is better IMO, since it lets you outspeed and go for Meteor Mash instead the half as strong BP; or any move, not just MM. So assuming you're running Agility, it just depends on what you wanna outspeed. You don't need any EVs in Speed and you can outspeed max speed base 110s. With 88 EVs, you can outspeed max Speed 130s like Crobat. That's assuming you have 31 Speed IV, so just make up for that with EVs (at level 100, 1 IV is one point, 4 EVs are one point). You can faff about here and see how much speed you wanna run. Howevermuch Speed you decide to run, put the rest in HP.
Darvan Korematsu
You got priority. Make it as tanky as possible with the remainders.
BrandonBeastMan
Depends. If you need a tank, throw the EVs into HP. But if you want a fast sweeper, like Agility, I would say Speed. There's no Mega Metagross tho, so the sweeper set is a bit flawed tho.
Tomas Elliot
In theory, the best set for a non-mega Metagross would be 248 HP 252 Atk Adamant, exploiting Bullet Punch to bypass the speed issue as others pointed out. However, since you said that the HP IVs of your exemplar are bad, investing in Spe MIGHT be a good idea... Although Spe investiments only make sense with a Jolly nature, and yours is Adamant, so the tanky variant might still prove superior... Not really, what I said was assuming he has a Speed-neutral nature, like Adamant.
