Support Squad Felicity Posted October 30, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted October 30, 2015 "Serph, bring up our current Soldier Roster. Western has tasked me with handling the Vayu situation." The stalwart AI complied, shifting the tablet screens contents to display the information Vanon had requested. The command leader perused the information with a discerning eye. "Who gets to go to a small scale war?" ~~~ Hello, I got around to doing it. Kinda. This is the sign-ups for the short term Sci-fi RP I put an interest check up for a while ago. So, naturally, I'll be supplying you with all the necessary information to make your combat dum- I mean, PCs. You guys, the players, will be playing as a soldier within a small unit, yes there will be limited places, of not quite elite soldiers sent to resolve an internal situation facing the organisation you work for, T-Line, on the planet Galuna Seven. T-Line is a multi-media conglomerate that spread across the universe of the 9 galaxies and, from there, branched out into a whole host of enterprises that have led to them being the largest company in the universe, rivalling the largest sectors of the 9 galaxies in terms of sheer power. Naturally, they have their own private army. That's you, for whatever reason. In each galaxy there is typically a pool of races that are more prevalent there than elsewhere. In the sector Arcturus 11, the galaxy of Galuna seven, there are several prevalent races. Races Humanity Racial background No, humans did not start T-Line. In fact, they were a pebble swept up by T-Line. They arrived to the space game far too late and really had no chance of galactic conquest, peaceful or otherwise. Most humans remained on Earth, or what's left of it after all the environmental damage. Some tried living the space adventure lifestyle. They mostly died. The smart ones, you, hooked up with T-Line, taking advantage of the advantages their power affords them as they learned the rough ways of the worlds. Only one human has gained any infamy, thus making the race infamous itself. Gaius McHighlen, the first spaceship hijacker to exist and the first pirate to grace the starry skies. Bonuses and flaws Taking a hint from DnD, humans here are jack of all trades, master of none. Humans will need to rely heavily on their class to be unique in any real way. Available classes: All Nomon'Vex The Nomon'vex, typically called Nomons, are a proud race of sentient and genuinely emotional AI that successfully made Terminator a reality by overthrowing their precursors. One of the first to make it to the space game and start a conquest due to their general resistance to environmental issues, like the whole no oxygen thing that held humans back, and ability to adapt their peopleand forms as needed. Using the resources gained from this they continued to expand. The only thing keeping them from taking over the 9 galaxies is the odd sense of chivalry that pervades most of their society. They refuse to take up arms unless provoked, and people know better than to provoke them. So now their progress in conquesting is non-existent. Bonuses and flaws: The Nomon'vex are sentient AI that can transition between expendable bodies. This means they get their own class to allow for the freedom of choosing a body. I mean, who wouldn't go in with the strongest mech you could? So long as it isn't 60ft tall that is. This is a mission that requires some subtlety. These are also naturally more resistant to everything. Cuz metal. Available classes: Mech Krags Krags, a race of golems comprised of valuable ores. A very rare species and a topic of serious controversy due to their races past. When there are beings made of valuable resources, people will want them. when they were first discovered their society was largely a Druidic theocracy praising their elemental gods with very little technology. They entered the space game unwillingly as they were harvested for their bodies or used for slavery as incredibly durable agents. Only recently did a few factions outlaw slavery of Krags, T-Line included. Most find safety in the now protected sector of Nonalen 2 where their home is now protected but they can still be seen where their benefactors and sympathisers have a strong presence. Their worship of the 4 elements defines them. Fucius, father of the Magma flows. Signifies warmth and love to the Krags as they were born from the Magma Flows. Aquitaine, mother of the Dread Seas. Signifies death to the Krags as they send their fallen to the depths of the Dread Seas so they can return to Gravellan, their Progenitor. Aquitaine guards their passage. Vaiyou, the Mistress of the Hurricane wastes. A Krag must brave the Hurricane wastes before they are considered adults. Age is determined by weight as Krags generate their own ores and so testing against a hurricane is their way of testing it, with no technology at their disposal Gravellan, the Progenitor. Gravellan is believed to be the first of the Krags, first sculpting the young from the ores found within the magma flows. It is believed that he returned to the embrace of their home planet millennia ago and now lives within the core, only reachable from the trenches within the Dread Seas.. Bonuses and flaws: -Made of incredibly dense materials that allow for natural offensive and defensive capabilities. -Utterly useless with technology. Rock fists don't work with touch screens or buttons well. They even need specialised equipment, like headsets for COMM systems and the like. Available classes: Snapshot Pointman Scout Fades Fades: Ghosts of the Galaxy. Literally. The Fades are ephemeral entities that manipulate space to a variety of ends, including to become the same race as whoever looks at them or faze through walls. No-one knows what a true fade looks like and no Fade ever allows themselves to see another Fade. Supposedly this is because they have been taught by the Voice that they may not see their brethren until they return Home. No one knows where the Fade homeworld is though, nor where Fades often disappear to. Most Fades are left with other species during infancy and are only picked out when they come into contact with two species at once. Bonuses and Flaws: -You wanna be sneaky? There you go. -Nowhere near as durable as the Nomon or Krags nor as versatile as humans or the next race. Available classes: Scout Snapshot Engineer Varens An avian/simian hybrid species that boast a supreme amount of skill and strength physically. Thnk flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz The most populous species throughout the 9 galaxies and the race that kickstarted T-Line. Varens were the winners in the universal space race and, without races like the Nomon’vex forcing them into a stalemate later on, arguably the most likely to succeed at galactic domination. This conquest means most races harbour some discontent to them, especially because they were most vocally against the freedom of Krags and the cessation of hostilities against the Nomon’vex. Fortunately they were turned down as their influence in T-Line waned over time as the other races were incorporated. Bonuses and flaws. -Generally better senses than humans, stronger and faster too. -Not durable like the Nomon or Krags. -Dislike by Krags and Nomon alike. Available classes: Snapshot Pointman Scout Engineer If you wish to make your own race, go nuts. Just PM me first. Classes: The thangs that further define your character, you know? I’ll also be borrowing a Skill system similar to Hukunas Signature system so that you may further customise your characters and their skill sets. This essentially means you get to describe a skill for your PC to be able to use up to a maximum of 5 skills. These can be anything from special combat manoeuvres to augmentations to in-depth knowledge of a particular field of information. These skills are up to you. Note: All guns are still projectile based. Any augmentation counts as a Skill and must be listed as such. Snapshot Snapshots are skilled gunmen adept at engaging in mid to long range combat at a moment’s notice. Disciplined soldiers with nerves of steel and the strength to pull the trigger on their foes even in the most hectic of situations. Available weapons: -Sniper rifle -Assault rifle. -Pistols -SMGs Available Skills: 3 Point man The man in front, the vanguard of the team. Heavily armoured with heavy weaponry. These titans aren't likely to fall in combat any time soon. Available weapons: -Energy Ram, a ram made of energy (duh) that serves as an incredibly strong melee weapon and provides some protection for the user. -Shotgun -Assault Rifle -Pistols -Rocket Launcher Available skills: 3 Mech For Nomon’vex only. A custom mechanical chassis that houses the Nomon AI. If you want to play this race, describe the Mech suit in Appearances and include major augmentations and weaponry within your Skills. Otherwise very, very durable. Available weapons: -Minigun -Rocket Launcher Available skills: 3 Scout The highly mobile member of the group trained in tracking and stealth. Light on armour and weaponry but well versed in espionage and deceit. Available weapons: -Knives -Pistols -SMGs -Sniper Available skills:4 Engineer The teams source of technical information whilst isolated on Galuna seven. Trained in mechanical repairs, field medicine, environmental factors like the local fauna and more. Light on weaponry. Available weaponry: -Pistols. Available skills: 5 Character Template: I'll be accepting PCs based on writing skill and originality more than anything else. Name: Race: Appearance: Class: Weaponry: (Choose 2 if available) Skills: - - - - - Personality: Backstory: (No need to fill out their life story here. This is meant to be a short RP so backstory won't have too much of an impact on my judgement) Additional details: If I missed anything, lemme know!
