Imagine if end-game bosses and legendaries had a boss version that were higher than level 100, like 120 or something. Anyone think those would be fun? Like when legendaries are introduced in the post-game, having to beat their level 120 forms before you can catch them. From a development standpoint, I imagine that would be hard to implement while still having a level 100 cap on everything else. But just something fun to think about. Combat Posted November 1, 2015 Share Posted November 1, 2015 I do know some Pokemon fan games have a level 120 capping point, but I'm willing to say that the entire code would be balanced around that. It's a shame though, seeing as there are plenty of ways to cheese high leveled bosses with Perish Song or Destiny Bond. I'm all for hard bosses, assuming their optional/fair. You're probably right. I do hope there is some kind of balancing for them, seeing as every single gym battle (for me at least) has been a bitter fight to the end, and the thought of having to do five battles in a row scares me in more ways than one. Dragon116 Posted November 1, 2015 Share Posted November 1, 2015 I doubt they would push it past level 100 when they can more easily break their natural stat distribution and claim it's the effect of their field/location. Just like how the PULSEs break the normal typing, attacks, and stat distribution of those within. For instance, Mew is 100 base all. If Ame put Mew in a cosmic field, or in an alternate dimension, she could claim those allowed mew to have base 200 across the board while still maintaining the coding the way it is and without anyone questioning it (other than complaining of the brutality). This was a while back though, don't know if she's sticking to that. Specially because of certain level drops around the game. I'm betting that she'll keep the level 100 max on the main story.
