AuthorReborn
At A Glance Team Building Process I decided I wanted to get back into UU since it's pretty awesome and there are tons of interesting Pokemon down there. One in particular caught my eye as neat, but something I had never really used much outside of Random Battles before: Scarf Moxie Krookodile. It's a strong sweeper that only continues to get stronger as it destroys things with its dual STAB moves hitting almost anything for neutral. Pursuit is also there to trap annoying mons like Froslass and regular Hoopa. The first thing I decided to do to support Krook was to get a strong, fast special Sweeper to clean up the physical walls that Krook couldn't. This also meant that the special sweeper could come in after Krook weakened the special walls. I scrolled through the lists of mons in UU and settled on Mega Sceptile, since it's fast as hell, can hit quite hard (especially since Mega Bird Jesus is gone), and can really hurt Suicune and Vaporeon, some of the most annoying Physical walls in UU. From here, I was beginning to notice that I had nothing to handle Fairies like Florges and Whimsicott. I also noticed I was quite weak to status, so I decided to fight fire with fire and added on an Aromatherapy Florges. The thing is hella bulky and if it starts setting up, most people are prone to forfeit. Wish (over Moonlight/Synthesis) is there to supply extra cleric support as well. Here I wanted a strong wallbreaker, so on went Feraligatr. It basically clicks DD and then Waterfall/Ice Punch. There's honestly not much to say. I have EQ on there for coverage and hitting Vaporeon/Suicune. Basically from there I just wanted something to hit Faries with SE damage, Hazard control (both removal and adding them), and a Fighting resist. I was considering Donphan because he's cool, but I already have stronger Ground STAB and I didn't want another fat, slow mon. He also doesn't resist Fighting. Instead, I decided on Cobalion, which can set up Rocks, Taunt any Forrtress lead, and then just get out. Iron Head for STAB to hit Faries and CC for hitting things hard. With one slot left and still missing hazard removal and a Fighting resist, I frantically looked through the lists of mons and found, lo and behold, the exact mon I was looking for without even knowing it had become UU: Zapdos. Heat Wave for actually killing Forrtress, Flying typing to resist Fighting, Electric just for solid STAB with Volt Switch, Defog for removing Rocks, Spikes, and Webs, and Roost to heal. Analysis Krook: +Strong Dual STABs +Moxie +Scarf allows for outspeeding many things -Can't switch moves -Things immune to Ground -Getting Statused -Takes lots of damage from most priority moves (Aqua Jet, Ice Shard, Mach Punch) Sceptile: +Grass is excellent offensively in UU +Decent special coverage +Outspeeds most non-boosted things and even some that are (outspeeds +1 Jolly Gatr and kills with Leaf Storm) -Ice Shard/literally any Ice move -Rather frail -Special Walls (specifically Florges) Florges: +Can tank many hits +Cleric support +Can set up with Calm Mind +Moonblast is a solid offensive move, even uninvested +Can handle Hydreigon -Steel types -Poison types -Crits/Hax in general Feraligatr: +Can destroy most Pokemon after a couple of DDs -Getting inside to set up -Priority -Status Cobalion: +Hard counters Forrtress +Nice STABs -No Volt Switch -Status -CC defense drops Zapdos: +Fighting resist +Volt Switch for momentum +Hazard control +Answer to Steel types -Coming in on Rocks -Not particularly threatening to many threats, such as Krook and Haxorus (Haxorus loves to set up DDs on it) Exportable Nixon (Krookodile) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Moxie EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Earthquake - Knock Off - Stone Edge - Pursuit Explorer of Time (Sceptile-Mega) @ Sceptilite Ability: Lightning Rod EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Giga Drain - Dragon Pulse - Focus Blast - Leaf Storm TooManyCharactrs (Feraligatr) @ Life Orb Ability: Sheer Force EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Dragon Dance - Waterfall - Ice Punch - Earthquake Bouquet (Florges) @ Leftovers Ability: Flower Veil EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Bold Nature - Aromatherapy - Moonblast - Wish - Calm Mind Musketeer (Cobalion) @ Leftovers Ability: Justified EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Stealth Rock - Close Combat - Iron Head - Taunt Lightning Two (Zapdos) @ Leftovers Ability: Pressure EVs: 248 HP / 176 Def / 68 SpA / 16 Spe Bold Nature - Volt Switch - Defog - Roost - Heat Wave As always, please feel free to add whatever criticism you may have. Tomas Elliot
I would suggest Crunch over EQ on Gatr: with Sheer Force, it hits more or less as hard, and not taking any LO recoil is important. Pursuit is pointless on Scarf Krook: it is a weak move so if you lock yourself into that, even if you score the kill and get the +1 you will then be unable to continue your sweep. So yeah, either remove Pursuit or give it Life Orb instead of Scarf. And I am not a fan of Wish and CM being both on a mon. Either go Wish+Protect to be a cleric, or Synthesis+CM to be a sweeper. When you try to be both, you often fail at both. The rest of the team is solid (maybe you could run HP Fire on Sceptile to OHKO Forre?), so yeah, this is all I have to say.
