This is quite an interesting category in the way that most of the options are grass types, and grass has a lot of pokémon I like.

For flower: I love Lilligant, Cherrim, Roselia/Roserade, Jumpluff and Florges, but my fav hands down is Vileplume. Oddish is one of the most iconic grass types in my mind, and it gets better when it gets to vileplume. I'm sad they don't get leech seed tho, except for an event one. I also like the side-evolution of this line, Bellossom, although I preffer Vileplume over it.

Mushroom: has to be Breloom, although I love Parasect and Amoonguss as well. Breloom can hit so hard and it is the best offensive spore user out of the 3, while Amoonguss bests it on defensive use with that god-like regenerator and the bulk. Parasect is fragile but can do some appreciated stuff in game.

Cactus: Maractus. Is just too cute. I also like Cacturne a lot, but Maractus has the cute factor on its favor.

Tree: I like them all, mainly Exeggcutor and Trevenant (the last being my fav out of the 2). Exegg can do some amazing sweeps with harvest, and Trevenant's harvest allows for VERY annoying sets instead (substitute + w-o-w/ + eech seed + horn leech/phantom force + sitrus berry, for example). It bests Exegg on having a ghost/grass typing that only Gourgeist shares. Gourgeist is my fav mon as well but is not a tree but a vegetable rather, so it doesn't fit in any of these categories.

Mush Pokes

Amoonguss is one of my favourite Pokemon, so yeah. not sure why though...a majority of people dislike it for its annoying encounters in gen 5 (dem Pokeball camouflages doe) and the fact that it looks...not the least bit pretty- according to my friend, that is.

but i like it anyways. i find it cute!~

Favourite Flowers

I can't decide between Lilligant and Roserade, they are both my favourite grass, Lilligant helped me a lot during my Black 2 playthrough with its graceful Q-Dance-Petal Dance and its own tempo, while i had special bond with Budew line in Platinum, and frankly i was surprised that no one has chosen Lilligant, i guess my vote will go to Lilligant for some love.

Favourite Mushroom

Breloom is one of my favourite grass type too, with its mach punch priority, one of few spore users and its overall awesome design

Favourite Cactus

I dont particularly love or hate both cactii to be honest and if i have to go with either one, i will choose Maractus mostly because it is more special orientated attacker as i am more of a special attack user when it comes to battle strategy

Favourite Tree

Snover/Abomasnow because of ice type bias, and Yetis look menacing enough, dont they?

Favourite Carnivorous plant

Carnivine, it has something to do with Rejuv Dimensional Rift and James lovely Carnivine that goofed around with James(anime)

Flower: Roserade. Shaymin and Jumpluff come close but I really like Roserade

Mushroom: Design-wise Breloom but I LOVE using Amoonguss in battles. It's such a troll xD

Cactus: Cacnea. I never really liked Maractus and Cacturne is somewhat intimidating (they follow you in the desert and wait for you to get exhausted... and then strikes *shivers*)

Tree: Abomasnow!

Carnivorous Plant: Gourgeist (I really like the name lol)

Aaaaay a carnivorous plant category! and gourgeist is in it! I had to delete my previous vote to vote to it all again and include gourgeist this time xD

And while it isn't a carnivorous plant per se, the lore about it justifies it enough, so we good there. Truly a mon I adore, with all its t-o-t, w-o-w and leech seed action.

Flower: Jumpluff and Roserade are my favourites (but Roserade a bit more because of my first Black 2 Run)

Mushroom: so obvious.

Cactus: Cacnea. Maractus is one of the Pokemon I forget the most easily.

Tree: Abomasnow is very cool, but I had to choose the first Pokemon I've ever owned's evolution, Torterra.

Carnivorous Plant: again, I chose a Pokemon I've used in other games; here it's Victreebel (from Heart Gold). Design-wise, they are all interesting, though.

Shaymin and it's Sky forme are two of the most interesting Pokemon I've ever used competitively - particularly because I haven't any experience with Gen 4. This Pokemon hits like a TRUCK with Seed Flare and Serene Grace can ....alright, I know Serene Grace is one of my least favorite abilities, but in Ubers, it's nice to flinch your way into some momentum. No comparison with the other flowers, even when non-Sky forme, to be head here.

...sting like a Beedrill. This thing's automatically my favorite mushroom Pokemon due to the best dual type anything could possibly have in Grass/Fighting - but like Shaymin, this thing has competitive viability too - hanging out in OverUsed thanks to it's combination of the wonderful Technician ability and moves like Mach Punch and Bullet Seed, along with the nevermiss sleep inducing move Spore. It's also not a zombified bug that's BRAIN CONTROLLED by the mushroom. Poor Parasect.

As a Southwest girl, I admire pretty much all of the Cactus-esque Pokemon - but this thing isn't your friendly prickly pear. It's 'Dex entry basically indicates that this thing follows desert travelers in gangs, waiting to do something -probably- grisly to said traveller when they catch up to them. That's delightfully scary, Cacturne. This thing also gets access to Sucker Punch -and- Spiky Shield and can be an offensive terror in NU. I like me some offensive grass types.

Like Grass, Ice is a very swell offensive typing and pretty bad defensive typing. However, Abomasnow doesn't try to front. It's bread and butter is in it's equally high attack AND special attack, allowing for it to run mixed offenses and put pressure on teams. It's Mega evolution is fun to use as well.

#Deadlock

So, both of the carnivorous plant Pokemon have limitations in usefulness and I've enjoyed using both in different ways.

Starting with Victreebel, Victreebel served as my teams Grass type in one of my first runs (I'm 25, I don't remember which anymore) of Pokemon ever. It's a pretty hard hitting Pokemon. Competitively it's either Sun Sweeper or Bust however. With access to Sleep Powder and strong moves, this thing could be problematic under the right weather condition thanks to Chlorophyll, but otherwise it's a sitting duck.

Carnivine has access to Leech Seed AND Knock Off, as well as a powerful Grass STAB in Power Whip, which allows for it to dance around opponents as a somewhat... tanky attacker in PU. It's got an ideal movepool for those who like Semi-stall or Balanced teams...just doesn't have the stats.

Flower: Shaymin - I like hedgehogs. I'm reluctant to praise Shaymin specifically because it's a legendary, but what are you gonna do?

Mushroom: Breloom - The least meh out of the 3 'shrooms.

Cactus: Cacturne - Again, this one is the least meh of the two.

Tree: Abomasnow. Unique typing and just fun to use in general.

Carnivorous: Carnivine. Eh, I picked this one mostly because of the (pathetically easy) Dimensional Rift Carnivine in Rejuvenation.
