Drymus
Apologies about the delayed post, finals in Uni are coming up... Update 9: Demonslayer strikes again! (But the ending stays the same...) Red waited outside Kiki's room to hear news on her condition. Victoria came out. She said Kiki was now resting, and that she should be left alone. Victoria also promised that Red would get the HM and the Fury Badge he had earned. She suggested that Red go out and look for Cain, saying he sould have gotten to Apophyll by now, and that he had likely landed on a nearby island and gotten lost. Red returned to the shore, started up Amaria's boat, and began searching the surrounding area. Around an hour later, Red landed on Azurine Island. He had decided to start searching islands with buildings on them rather than just searching for signs of Cain himself, and Azurine Island had a Pokemon breeding facility located on it. Believing Cain could have been taking shelter, Red walked right in and bumped into Aster. Eclipse was also in the room. Red and the duo stared at each other for a moment before sending out their Pokemon for a doubles battle. Although outnumbered, Red still managed to defeat the duo. As they fled, Aster taunted Red, saying he'd never find where Cain was hidden. This proved Cain was in the building, and the empty bookcase on the far wall was looking very suspicious to Red. Red healed his Pokemon with a nearby recovery machine, then moved the bookcase aside. Not surprisingly, there was a staircase leading to the basement. At the bottom of the stairs, there were two cells for keeping Pokemon in. One contained a Camerupt. The other held Cain. There were also two Team Meteor Grunts and Taka in the room. Taka greeted Red, told him that Team Meteor was going to connect a PULSE Camerupt to the volcano to destroy Apophyll, and then apologized, saying he had orders to eliminate Red. Taka sent out a Klefki as Red released Blaine. Then Blaine used Heat Wave, and Taka was short a Klefki. Taka sent in Cradilly next. Blaine was able to deal significant damage to it with Close Combat, and took minimal damage from Cradily's Mega Drain. A second Close Combat finished it. Hoping to give Blaine a chance to recover, Red switched to Somno as Taka sent out Gligar. Somno tried to put it to sleep, but was outsped and knocked out by an Acrobatics attack. Red switched over to Geodette. Geodette barely noticed Gligar's Night Slash, and smashed it into the ground with Smack Down. Gligar used Roost to try to recover some of the damage, but Geodette piled dirt on it and slowed it down with Bulldoze. Gligar's attacks and Taka's Ultra Potion couldn't save it as it was soon taken down with an Earthquake. The lights began flickering as well. Red, knowing Taka's ace and final Pokemon, sent out Yang. As predicted, Taka sent in Chatot. Yang hit Chatot with a Sucker Punch, but took a Chatter in return and became confused. Chatot used a second Chatter, bringing Yang to the brink of fainting. However, even in confusion, Yang was able to execute a final Double Edge, knocking out both herself and Chatot in the process. Taka had the grunts grab the Camerupt and run, and commented on how it would be a shame if Red were to come and stop the PULSE once again. Red quickly freed Cain, and the two jumped into the boat and sped off as fast as the boat could handle to Apophyll Island. When they arrived, they explained the situation to Victoria. Victoria said that she had seen Team Meteor pass by the area, and that Kiki wanted to talk to the three of them in her room. Kiki explained that the destruction of Apophyll would upset the balance between the technological realm of the city and the secluded realm of Apophyll. She asked Red and Cain to go up Pyrous Mountain and stop whatever Team Meteor was doing. Victoria said she would stay with Kiki. Cain ran ahead of Red while he was making a final adjustment to his team, a back-up plan to deal with a certain Garchomp. When he was about to start his climb, he was joined by Victoria, who had decided to help stop Team Meteor as well. Red and Victoria were slowed down by Team Meteor guards. Red mostly left them to Victoria, wanting his team to stay at full strength until he faced the real opponent. When Red and Victoria arrived, they saw Cain's Nidoking being finished off by Taka's Chatot. Cal was standing by the edge of the crater, watching. The man with the Garchomp was also there, standing behind Taka. He was introduced as Solaris, Taka's father and the leader of Team Meteor. He told Taka to deal with Victoria, saying he would handle Red. He also boasted that he would do it with a single Pokemon, sending out his Garchomp. Red led with Blaine. Apologizing to his Pokemon, he switched to a Growlithe as Garchomp used Earthquake, and sent out Blaine again. He repeated this tactic several times. However, after his third Growlithe fainted, rather than sending out Blaine, Red sent out his trump card. Solaris laughed. Garchomp used Fire Fang on Demonslayer, which should have been the end of it... if the Growlithes Red had sent out had merely been to stall for time. However, each one had sapped a small amount of Garchomp's will to fight as they were sent out. As a result, the newly evolved Demonslayer was easily able to take Garchomp's attack and hit it with Perish Song. After Blaine and Geodette were able to collectively survive Garchomp's next three attacks, Garchomp fainted. Solaris had an expression on his face that was somewhere between surprise and disgust. He said there was no point in continuing the battle, as he clearly had the upper hand, as Red's tactic would only work once. The Camerupt was going to explode, and nothing could stop it. Suddenly, Kiki appeared. She told Cain and Red to stand aside, ignoring Victoria's protests about her health. She sent out her Medicham, ordering it to destroy the PULSE. It prepared a High-Jump Kick, but was caught by a Magmortar. Cal's Magmortar. Victoria screamed at Cal, demanding to know what he was doing. Cal ignored her. Solaris ordered Magmortar to dispose of the Medicham. Cal tried to protest, but his Magmortar threw Medicham into the lava anyways. Solaris used a Revive on his Garchomp while the commotion was going on. Red could only watch as, as predicted by Shade, the Garchomp dealt a fatal blow to Kiki. Cal yelled at Solaris, saying that this wasn't part of the plan. Solaris responded by saying that he should have been prepared for her death, as she would have died anyways from the PULSE attack. Cal was silent for a moment, then ordered his Magmortar to destroy the PULSE. Solaris said that his action had not redeemed him, but instead condemned him. Solaris and Taka then retreated. Cal tried to tell the others that this wasn't what he meant to happen. Victoria asked what it was he was trying to do. Without waiting for an answer, she told Cal to leave and not return. The morning after Kiki's death, Victoria called Red and Cain into Kiki's old room. She said that she would take over the academy. She gave Red the HM, but said that Kiki's badge was invalidated with her death. She wished the two good luck as they boarded Amaria's boat, saying she couldn't travel with them anymore. Dragon116
Well played. In Rejuv, I used one Growlithe like that to take down Demonic Gyrados, and finished it off with OP Butterfree.
Drymus
(Apologies for some of the screenshots. Not sure what happened.) Update 10: Something's watching me... Red and Cain faced the entrance to the wasteland. Cain started to reach into his pocket to get the key, but stopped and challenged Red to a battle. After Somno swept his team with Sleep Powder and Quiver Dance, Cain finally opened the door. He ran off, saying he didn't want to deal with his family at the moment, and that he would be waiting for Red in the train tunnel. Red walked through the wasteland. The ground was covered in a purple kind of sludge, and there was trash all over the place. There were also things that seemed completely out of place, like random bookshelves, control panels, and even a train. Red also felt as though he was being watched, even though there was no one in sight. When Red stopped to rest in the ruins of an old building, he met an old man, who told Red that the wastes had once been cleared, but that the waste came back out of nowhere, and that the people of the city abandoned the area. Red finally arrived at a small house, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. There was an official reborn league sign posted on the door, so Red knocked twice and entered. A middle-aged woman was sitting at the table. She seemed surprised, but then remembered that she was sitting in a gym now. She told Red that Aya, her daughter, was in the middle of a match, and that Red could watch while he was waiting for his turn. Red used the healing machine crammed between the counter and the stove, and entered the next room, just in time to see Fern grabbing his badge. Fern noticed Red, and bragged about how easy the battle was, prompting the girl to remind him that he had suffered two losses. Fern put the blame on his grass Pokemons' weakness to poison, and said that once he had made some substitutions, it had been too easy. Just then, a young man with red hair and hiker clothing walked into the room. He introduced himself as Hardy, the rock type gym leader, saying he had come to welcome Aya. Noticing Fern, he said he felt sorry for Aya for having to face Fern right off the bat. It was revealed that Fern and Hardy knew each other because their sisters had gone to school together. Aya went to prepare for her battle with Red. Fern said he would give Red a real fight while he waited. Red sent out Blaine, while Fern sent out Ferrothorn. One Heat Wave later, Red, recalling that Fern had made some switches to his team to make up for its weakness to poison, switched to Somno. True to Red's prediction, Fern switched to Krookodile. Somno put Krookodile to sleep after taking a Crunch, Quiver Danced twice, and swept the remainder of Fern's team. Hardy laughed, saying it was worth coming just to see Fern get flattened, while Fern claimed that he had let Red win. Aya reentered, and told Red to take his place on the battlefield. Hardy volunteered to be the referee. Fern took a seat, saying he wasn't sure who he wanted to lose more. Aya kept muttering things to herself as Hardy went over the rules of the doubles battle that was about to take place. (Attempts required: 2, but only because Somno overleveled and ignored me twice. I need that Exp Share.) Aya led off with Tentacruel and Nidoqueen, while Red sent out Somno and Blaine. Blaine hit Tentacruel with a Crunch, while Tentacruel used Icy Wind. Nidoqueen used Sludge Wave, and Somno put Tentacruel to sleep. Aya used an Ultra Potion on Tentacruel, and had Nidoqueen use another Sludge Wave. Blaine scored a critical Crunch on Tentacruel, while Somno used Quiver Dance. Red healed Somno with a Super Potion, while Aya used another Ultra Potion on Tentacruel. Somno used another Quiver Dance, while Nidoqueen used another Sludge Wave. Somno took minimal damage, but Blaine didn't seem to be doing well. Red had Somno knock out Nidoqueen with Psybeam, and Blaine used another Crunch on Tentacruel. Tentacruel, still being asleep, did nothing. Aya sent out Dragalge. Red used another Super Potion on Somno, and had Somno hit Dragalge with a Psybeam. Tentacruel was still asleep, but Dragalge used Dragon Pulse, knocking out Blaine. Red sent out Yang. Somno blasted Dragalge with another Psybeam, this time knocking it out. Yang smashed Tentacruel with Double Edge, also scoring a knockout. Aya sent out a Gengar and a Drapion. Yang smashed Gengar with a Sucker Punch, nearly knocking it out. Gengar sent a Shadow Ball at Somno, who put Drapion to sleep. Drapion did nothing that turn as a result. Yang knocked out Gengar with another Sucker Punch, while Somno used Quiver Dance. Drapion snored away its turn. Aya sent out a Venasaur. Somno blasted Venasaur with a Psybeam, resulting in an instant knockout. Yang smashed Drapion with a Double Edge, while Drapion continued its nap. Its nap was abruptly ended, however, by a heavily boosted Bug Buzz. The battle was concluded there. Fern left, saying it was boring. Aya seemed upset, saying it was her brother's fault for pushing the position of reserve leader onto her. Hardy went to console her. Red, feeling awkward, showed himself the door. Aya's mother handed him the badge and TM for Sludge Wave on his way out. Red taught Yang how to use Strength, feeling glad that Reborn's HM moves could be forgotten by Pokemon like any TM. Red then met Cain under the tunnel, where Yang cleared away the debris blocking the path. They came to a fork in the road. One way was blocked by a locked door, so Red and Cain used common sense and went the other way. The path led back up to the surface, and into an old, rundown building, which Cain recognized as the old Yureyu Company's headquarters. The duo then made their way through the building. They saw a couple of Team Meteor agents standing by a control panel, with Shelly tied up and blindfolded on the ground. One of the agents was shaking as he held a knife against Shelly's throat. He told them not to take a single step towards the panel. Not seeing any choice, Red and Cain continued through the building. Soon, Red and Cain came across a room where Charlotte was being held "captive" by another pair of agents. Unlike Shelly, however, she was not tied up, and freely chatting with her captors. One of the agents noticed Red and Cain, and started to threaten to kill Charlotte. She told him to stop, and then walked over to Cain and Red, introducing the agents as Simon and Tara. Simon and Tara tried to stop them, but were quickly defeated. Charlotte told them they needed to unlock the upper levels using the panel in the room Shelly was being held hostage in, and led them downstairs. She was met by the threats to Shelly's life. Charlotte response was that she didn't care, and that she just wanted to leave. The grunt with the knife hesitated as she operated the panel, and she quickly dragged Shelly out of the room before he could react. The grunts gave chase, but were stopped and defeated by Red and Cain. Charlotte told Red and Cain to go on ahead as she freed Noel. Cain and Red came across Sigmund interrogating Heather. Sigmund asked Red if they were going to interfere. Although Red found Sigmund repulsive, he knew that Charlotte and the others were coming, and that the leader of the operation needed to be captured as quickly as possible. Sigmund let Red pass. Cain reluctantly followed Red up the next set of stairs. The man from the power plant Red had raided alongside Julia, Florinia, and Fern was there, holding Anna captive. She kept telling him to give back her father's pendant. The man noticed Red and Cain and introduced himself as Sirius. He then commented on how it was remarkable how while chasing after Heather's ruby ring, he was also able to acquire a second item of importance. He stopped himself before he revealed too much. He said he had had enough games, and sent out a Hitmontop and a Chandelure. Red responded by sending out Geodette, while Cain sent out Nidoking. Hitmontop hit Geodette with a Mach Punch, Chandelure used Shadow Ball on Nidoking, Nidoking hit Hitmontop with a Shadow Ball, and Geodette hit Chandelure with a Smack Down. Then Chandelure and Hitmontop finished off Red and Cain's Pokemon. Red sent in Blaine, while Cain sent out Samurott. Sirius used an Ultra Potion on Chandelure, while Hitmontop used Mach Punch on Samurott. Chandelure was then taken down with a combination of Blaine's Crunch and Samurott's Razor Shell. Sirius sent out Manetric. For some unfathomable reason, it used Ice Fang. Blaine fired off a Heat Wave. Hitmontop attempted to use Hi Jump Kick, but it missed, crashed, and fainted. Samurott hit Manetric with a Night Slash. Sirius then sent out a Seviper. Manetric used Fire Fang, leading Red to believe it was not a very intelligent Manetric. Blaine used Heat Wave, finishing Manetric and burning Seviper. Seviper and Samurott traded Night Slashes. Sirius sent out a Probopass and used an Ultra Potion on his Seviper. Blaine fired off a Heat Wave. Samurott used Night Slash on Seviper. Probopass paralyzed Blaine with Thunder Wave. Seviper used Rest, curing its burn and regaining health. Samurott hit Seviper with a Razor Shell. Probopass used Rock Tomb. Blaine was able to take out Probopass in one hit with Close Combat. Sirius sent in Honchcrow. Red, thinking Blaine may need a break, sent in Yang. Yang was immediately hit by a Foul Play from Honchcrow. Samurott did minimal damage to it with Revenge, while Seviper remained asleep. Yang hit Honchcrow hard with a Double Edge, but was knocked out in return by Brave Bird. Seviper slept on as Samurott used another Revenge on Honchcrow. Red sent in his underleveled Staryu, hoping it could gain some battle experience, but it was immediately knocked out by a Brave Bird. Seviper woke up and used Poison Fang on Samurott, while Samurott knocked out Honchcrow with Razor Shell. Red sent in Somno. Seviper finished off Samurott with a Night Slash, and was promptly put back to sleep by Somno. Cain sent out Venomoth. Venomoth used Giga Drain while Somno used Quiver Dance as Seviper slept on. Then Somno used another Quiver Dance, while Venomoth used another Giga Drain. Seviper woke up and hit Venomoth with an Aqua Tail. Both Red and Cain thought that this was an issue, and Seviper was hit with a double dose of Sleep Powder. Somno used Quiver Dance for the third time, while Venomoth used Giga Drain. Finally, Red decided to go on the offense, and Somno concluded the battle. Sirius called Cain and Red insolent and ran off. Cain freed Anna while Red picked up the key to the locked door. Cain, Red, and Anna met up with the others and made their way through the rest of the tunnel. Edited December 9, 2015 by Drymus

Drymus
Update 11: Seven years of bad luck As soon as they got outside, Heather sent out her Salamence. Without a word, Heather jumped on its back and flew off. Cain ran after her to make sure she wouldn't get in trouble. Red and the others continued their way to Charlotte's family's house. Anna said her Jirachi doll wasn't feeling well, but seemed to be sick herself. The group hurried on. When they arrived at the hidden cove, Red was introduced to Laura, Charlotte's sister and a member of the Elite 4. Anna was taken upstairs, and Red was asked to go buy some medicine from the Pokemart. Red walked through the forest. He came to a dead end. He turned around. The way he came was now a dead end. He turned around again. It was no longer a dead end. Not seeing any choice, Red continued through the forest. Several hours later, he came across a cave. He explored it, leaving Pokeballs as trailmarkers, and found the diary of a man who had been lost in the cave. The diary made two requests: to tell his daughter in Mysidia what happened to him, and to take care of the Pokemon in the cave that was to be her gift. Red left the cave with an Eevee in his party. Red eventually made it to town. There was a train in the middle of it. Things were randomly glowing, disappearing, and reappearing in other places. Red walked over to a nearby fountain to splash water in his face. It disappeared. Getting tired of this town, Red walked up to the Pokecenter. It also disappeared. He heard a crash somewhere. He looked and saw a mansion with a Pokemart on its balconey. Red was about to knock on the door when it opened. A boy with glasses dressed in orange stepped out, saying he needed to see what had just made the loud noise in the mansion. He saw the Pokecenter. He introduced himself to Red as Bennet, and invited Red in. There, he met Bennet's mother, Serra, who was also the gym leader of the town. Red explained that he needed access to the Pokemart. Serra offered to let Red stay in the mansion while they waited for the Pokemart to move to a more accessible location. Seeing Red's badges, she also offered Red a gym battle. Just then, a knock was heard at the door. A man in a white robe walked in. He introduced himself as El, and said he was searching for his daughter, Luna. Serra said that she used to live with them as an adopted daughter, but had recently left. Bennett seemed shy about the subject. He changed the subject, offering El a seat in Red and Serra's league battle. Serra walked into her battle arena. Red followed, easily solving the gym puzzle. He noted that every surface was covered in mirrors. In the last room before the arena, he was met by Bennett and El. Bennett challenged Red to a battle, as part of his training to become a gym leader. Red led with Geodette, while Bennet sent out a Larvesta. Geodette, while taking minimal damage, set up Stealth Rocks. Geodette then used Earthquake, and the mirrors all shattered, knocking out Larvestra and dealing a large amount of damage to Geodette as well. With the Stealth Rocks dealing a huge chunk of damage to all of Bennet's Pokemon, Red's team had a definite advantage, and Bennet was defeated. El said that both of them had been blessed by Arceus. He also recommended that Bennet set his goal higher than being a gym leader, and said that if Bennet trained hard, he could help him join the Elite 4. Bennet took El into the viewer's room as Red entered the battlefield. This room was also covered in mirrors, which Red thought might be a problem, as it could potentially cause issues with his Pokemons' accuracy. Red led with Blaine against Serra's Cryoganol. Cryogonal struck first with a Flash Cannon, which was strengthened by the mirrors, Blaine retaliated with a Heat Wave. Serra healed Cryogonal, but it was hit with another Heat Wave. Cryoganal used Reflect. Blaine used Heat Wave, which initially missed, but was reflected off the mirrors, hitting Cryogonal anyways. Red decided he had already had enough of the mirrors. He sent out Geodette as Serra sent out Jynx. Jynx hit Geodette with a Frost Breath, but Geodette wouldn't faint. Geodette then smashed the field with an Earthquake. The severe damage from the falling glass shards knocked out both Jynx and Geodette. Red sent in Yang. After seeing Serra's Glaceon, Red decided to switch to Blaine, who took a Signal Beam intended for Yang. Blaine almost knocked out Glaceon with a Heat Wave, taking a Frost Breath in return. Serra healed Glaceon, and Blaine missed his next Heat Wave. Blaine's next Heat Wave, however, was critical, knocking Glaceon out. Red switched over to Demonslayer as Serra sent in Vanilluxe. Demonslayer took heavy damage from Frost Breath, and did little in return with Gyro Ball. Red healed Blaine with a Strawberry Ice Cream as Demonslayer was knocked out by another Frost Breath. Serra's team's Reflect finally faded. Blaine was sent back in. Vanilluxe used Reflect, causing it to survive Blaine's Close Combat. Vanilluxe fired off Signal Beam before falling to a second Close Combat. Red switched to Somno as Serra sent in Aurorus. It started to hail. Somno tried to used Sleep Powder, but was knocked out by a Frost Breath. Red then sent Blaine back out. Blaine easily knocked Aurorus out with Close Combat. Red switched to Yang as Serra sent out Froslass. Yang used Sucker Punch, but Reflect minimized the damage, and Yang was hit hard with Frost Breath. The Reflect faded, however, and Yang was able to do significantly more damage with her next Sucker Punch. Red sent in Blaine. Serra used an Ultra Potion that Red didn't know she was allowed to use, and Blaine missed with Crunch. Froslass used Confuse Ray on Blaine, but Blaine still managed to hit with a Crunch. Red considered using another healing item, but decided to have faith in Blaine. Froslass hit Blaine with a Frost Breath. Blaine finished the battle with a Crunch. Red collected his badge. Bennet entered the room, telling his mother he was leaving to train with El. A loud creaking could be heard outside. Red went outside and saw the Pokemart was gone. He left the town to look for it. Drymus
With such a great learnset and stats, Arcanine is the reason I didn't go with Charmander in the beginning... Update 12: Inferior overleveled bosses Red found the Pokemart just outside the woods. He bought the medicine and made his way back to the hideout. When given the medicine, Anna poured it on her Jirachi doll. Red started to head back to the Pokemart to buy more medicine, but Anna somehow appeared to be feeling better. Anna said that her doll told her Red should get as many badges as possible, and kept nagging him to challenge Noel. Eventually, they both gave in. Everyone gathered outside, with Charlotte acting as the referee. She was about to start the match, when a woman who looked similar to her and Laura flew overhead on a Dragonite. Everyone gathered around her, and she was introduced as Saphira, the eldest sister of Charlotte and another gym leader. Charlotte told her how she and the other orphans had escaped from Sigmund's orphanage with the help of Red and Shelly. Saphira told her that Sigmund and a group of Team Meteor grunts were on their way to retake the orphans. Saphira rode off on her Dragonite to deal with the grunts crossing the lake. Anna and Noel hid upstairs, with Laura guarding them. Shelly and Charlotte hid in the kitchen, and Red took up a defensive position in front of the main entrance. Soon, Sigmund and two orderlies entered. Sigmund sent his orderlies upstairs. Knowing they probably wouldn't be a threat to a member of the Elite 4, Red blocked Sigmund's path, sending out Geodette. Sigmund sent out Jolteon. It attempted to avoid Geodette's attacks with Double Team, but Geodette saw through it and knocked out Jolteon with an Earthquake. Red then switched in Somno as Sigmund sent out Lanturn. Lanturn hit Somno with a Signal Beam, but fell asleep as Somno used Sleep Powder. Somno was able to use Quiver Dance five times before Red needed to heal Somno. After that, a quick Bug Buzz knocked Lanturn out of the fight. Sigmund sent in Electrivire. Somno's Bug Buzz brought it to the brink of fainting, but its Thunder Punch knocked out Somno in one hit. Red sent in Geodette. Sigmund tried healing his Electrivire with an Ultra Potion, but it still fell to a single Earthquake. Sigmund sent in his Electross next. It missed with Crush Claw, and was smashed into the ground with Smack Down. Its Crunch failed to do any significant damage, and it fainted to an Earthquake. Sigmund sent in Luxray next. It used Swagger, confusing Geodette, but Geodette still hit it with Earthquake. Not wanting to push his luck with confusion, Red sent in Blaine as Sigmund sent out Rotom. Rotom hit Blaine with a Discharge, and received a Crunch in return. Rotom's next attack, Ominous Wind, failed to knock out its target. Blaine's next Crunch, however, was a different story. With that, Sigmund was defeated. The orderlies running downstairs and out the door meant Laura had protected her area as well. Sirius entered. He told Sigmund not to expect any help from his grunts, as they had been attacked on the water by Saphira and were in no condition to fight. Seeing Sigmund defeated and having been beaten by Red once already, Sirius acknowledged that they couldn't beat Red. However, he told Sigmund that they should split up, since that way, Red would only be able to block one of them. Sirius moved towards the stairs, while Sigmund moved towards the kitchen. Red used common sense and guarded the otherwise vulnerable kitchen, while Sirius went upstairs, where Laura was waiting. At that moment, Saphira entered. She noticed Sigmund being restrained by Red, and began shoving Sigmund around the room. She started venting, bringing up all the pain caused to her and her sisters. When Sigmund tried to justify his actions using his warped idea of protection, Saphira sent out her Dragonite, and had it blast Sigmund through the wall with Hyper Beam. Neither she nor Red noticed Sirius's Seviper until it was too late. Sirius dragged her unconcious body out the door, saying he wasn't leaving empty handed after the damage that had been done. Laura and the twins came downstairs, and Charlotte and Shelly emerged from the kitchen. Laura recalled some men in black installing large metal structures in Tanzan cave several months ago, saying Saphira had probably been taken there. In the cave, there seemed to be tremors coming from the ground every few minutes. Red and Laura ran through the cave. They came across a large metal gate. While looking for a switch for the gate, Laura lost her balance during a tremor and fell onto a clump of rocks. The gate opened. Red and Laura split up in the Meteor base. Red eventually came to the holding cells, where all the guards were unconscious and there was a large hole in one of the walls. After seeing what Saphira had done to Sigmund, what had happened seemed fairly obvious to Red. Red followed the trail of destruction until he found Saphira and Laura in the control room. They had just finished unlocking all of the doors in the facility. The three split up, looking for any sort of secret project that needed to be sabotaged. While clearing out the grunts in the factory, Red came across Simon, one of the grunts Charlotte had befriended. He didn't try to fight Red, saying Tara, his partner, had been killed by the woman on the Dragonite while they were on the lake. He vowed to get revenge on her as he left. Red met up with Saphira and Laura in a room containing Zel, Sirius, Sigmund, and a PULSE machine connected to an Abra. Zel told Red about how the machine was responsible for everything disappearing and reappearing in the surrounding area, and that they couldn't control the machine. When Saphira started threatening Sigmund again, Zel managed to get the Abra under control just long enough to teleport Saphira away. When Sirius asked Zel where she had gone, Zel responded that he had no idea. Sirius told Zel to get Laura and Red out of there before Lin came in. The mention of this Lin person caused Zel to start frantically hitting buttons at the keyboard. Without warning, Red and Laura were transported to a dark cave. They found their way to a chasm. Laura called out, and Saphira answered, saying she was stuck at the bottom with a bunch of toxic waste, most likely dumped there by Team Meteor. Just then, a massive tremor occurred. Red and Laura looked behind them, and saw that a tunnel had been dug straight through the rock. Laura went to check it out, while Red looked for something he could use to get Saphira out of the chasm. Suddenly, he heard Laura scream. Red hurried over, and saw a Steelix the size of a four-story building. Laura was unconscious. Saphira thought it must have grown from all the toxic waste, and told Red she had a plan. She just needed him to subdue the Steelix. Red sent out Geodette. Steelix hit her hard with Iron Head, but she hung on with Sturdy and used Bulldoze, slowing down the Steelix. She used a second, slowing it down further, before falling to and Earthquake. Red sent in his shiny new Magneton. Magneton used its Sturdy ability to get in two Metal Sounds before falling to Steelix's attacks. Finally, Red sent out Blaine. The Steelix seemed to be laughing at Blaine... until it was blasted in the face with a mighty Heat Wave. The Steelix cried out in pain and sank to the bottom of the chasm. A minute later, it slowly rose up again, this time with Saphira on its head. Red grabbed Laura and joined her. When they got out of the cave, Saphira told Laura to go home. Then she sent Red to deal with the PULSE Abra, while she did some damage to the base. Red agreed. He returned to the room with the PULSE. Zel and Sirius were still struggling with the Abra, while Sigmund was in the corner, muttering to himself. Zel noticed Red, and offered him a deal. They would not interfere with Red as he left if he could destroy the PULSE machine. This would also be beneficial to the surrounding area. Red accepted. After the Pulse Abra hit Blaine with a Hyper Beam, Demonslayer sealed its fate with Perish Song. zEl explained that now, things in the area should gradually calm down. Suddenly, Lin, the boss of Team Meteor, walked in, demanding a report from Sirius. Red saw that she was one of the individuals pictured on Shade's screens. However, with the aura of malice around her, Red didn't think that was such a bad thing. After Sirius explained that the project with Abra had been terminated, Lin asked who Red was. Sirius said he was a new recruit, and Zel whispered that Red should just go with it, or everyone in the room would be slaughtered. Lin didn't seem to buy it, but at that moment, a grunt entered, saying a giant Steelix was attacking the base. As if on cue, the entire mountain shook. Lin left to deal with the Steelix, and Red decided it was a good idea for him to leave as well. On his way back, he saw Lin on a Hydregion facing Saphira on the giant Steelix. They seemed to be exchanging words, but Red couldn't hear from where he was standing. Then, Hydregion let out a massive burst of energy, and Steelix crashed into the mountain, motionless. Back at the house, Charlotte refused to believe her sister hadn't survived, saying her family didn't die that easily. Anna asked what had happened to her parents. Laura started to explain that they had died in a fire, but Charlotte ran off. Laura ran after her. Anna suggested that Red and Noel have their battle now. Knowing Anna would keep pestering them until they battled, they headed outside. Red sent out Somno, while Noel sent in Wigglytuff. Then Wigglytuff slept and Somno danced. Six times, because Red remembered what had happened the last time Somno had only danced five times. After two Psybeams, Wigglytuff fainted. After 4 more attacks from Somno, Noel was down to Clefable, his ace. Clefable was put to sleep, and then fainted to two Psybeams. With that, the match was ended. Drymus
Update 13: I'm not dead yet! After Red and Noel finished their battle, Laura returned. She said Charlotte had returned to her gym in a nearby city. Noel called Red into the other room. He said it was highly unlikely that Saphira would have survived the fall from the giant Steelix, and that Red ought to go back to the Team Meteor base to confirm his suspicion. After a massive explosion could be heard in Tanzan mountain, Red cycled off as quickly as possible. The tunnel to the base had collapsed. However, down another tunnel, Red found a huge steel door with a massive hole in it. On the other side, a wall exploded. Red saw Saphira walk out of the hole. Saphira explained that she had destroyed the base. She then gave Red Heather's ruby ring and Anna's Amethyst pendant, saying that she didn't want to leave them with the orphans since they would be targeted for them. She then told Red that she was taking the orphans through Agate City, and that Route 1 was just through the cave. She wished him luck and ran off. Upon exiting the cave, Red was immediately met by Fern. Fern bragged that he had earned 8 badges, and made fun of Red for only having 7. He then challenged Red to a battle. Red felt a strange sense of deja vu... While making his way through Route 1, Red found a pair of glasses, broke up a fight between a Pinsir and a Heracross, caught a green Tauros, and took advantage of the nearly infinite milk supply. He also encountered a large castle with an official Reborn League sign. Red was greeted by a girl in a maid outfit named Luna. She took him into the main room, where he was greeted by a man in a golden crown and a talking Gardevoir. The man was Radomus, a chess mastermind and the psychic gym leader of Reborn, and his Gardevoir was a television celebrity known as the Gossip Gardevoir. Red learned that Luna was the same individual he had heard of at Serra's mansion, and that Radomus had taken her in after seeing how desperate she was to get away from her father. Red recalled how El had seemed a little off during his initial meeting. At that moment, Luna entered, and showed Cain in. Cain saw Red, and challenged him to a battle for the right to face Radomus first. Red sent out Geodette while Cain led with Muk. An Earthquake nearly knocked Muk out, while it used Minimize. Cain gave Muk some Moomoo Milk to recover, but Geodette's Bulldoze brought it back to the verge of fainting. Cain used another Moomoo Milk, but Geodette wasn't having it, knocking Muk out with an Earthquake. Red switched to his Magneton as Cain sent out Samurott. Magneton took a Night Slash and retaliated with Discharge, paralyzing Samurott. A second Discharge knocked it out. Red switched back to Geodette while Cain sent in Nidoking. Nidoking's Earthquake wasn't quite able to deliver a one-hit KO. Geodette's was. Red switched over to Blaine while Cain sent in Gengar. Gengar and Blaine dealt significant damage to each other with Shadow Ball and Crunch, respectively. Predicting another Shadow Ball, Red switched to Yang, only to have Yang be knocked out by a Focus Blast. Red sent Magneton out, and healed Blaine with a Moomoo Milk as Gengar knocked Magneton out with another Focus Blast. Red sent Blaine out once more, who took a Shadow Ball and knocked out Gengar with another Crunch. Cain then sent out Absol. Blaine tried to hit it with Close Combat, but was knocked out by a Sucker Punch instead. Red sent out Somno. Absol failed to hit Somno with a Sucker Punch, and was put to sleep. Somno danced 4 times before Absol woke up and attempted another Sucker Punch. Then Absol was put back to sleep, and promptly knocked out with a Bug Buzz. Cain sent out a Galvantula, but it also fainted to Somno's Bug Buzz. Cain admitted defeat, and said Red could go first. Luna reentered, saying she couldn't find Gardevoir anywhere. She also said a man in a white robe had delivered a letter for Radomus. The letter stated that El had taken Gardevoir, and would only return her if Radomus returned his daughter. Radomus muttered something about playing black today. Radomus seemed disinterested, only saying he would go after Gardevoir after Luna asked him to. He changed into a detective's outfit, and told Red and Cain to follow him. He led them down Route 1 to the sealed Grand Gates. They found a hidden chasm on the other side of a large, immobile gear. Cain and Red were able to get past easily, but Radomus had slightly more difficulty. He popped out and knocked Cain into the chasm. Fortunately, it was a short drop. Red and Radomus joined Cain after setting up an Escape Rope to get back up. They came across a large castle-like structure. They noticed a person walking towards them alongside Gardevoir. The person called themselves Adrienn, and demanded to know why he had mistreated Gardevoir. Gardevoir said she was sick of being with him, and that she had put on an act for years. Red thought there was something off about the whole situation. Adrienn noticed Red, said he had stolen property belonging to El, grabbed the Amethyst Pendant, and ran off. Red, Cain, and Radomus advanced up the castle. The ruby ring appeared to act as a key to the various doors. There were several puzzles that didn't make sense to Red until he realized that in them, light equated to always telling the truth, while darkness meant always telling lies. On the second last floor, Red and the others were met by Adrienn. Adrienn said xe was supposed to take the ring to El, but was no longer sure what was right and what was wrong. Radomus said all would be revealed soon. The group ascended to the top floor. El was waiting in front of a door with Gardevoir. One section was glowing purple, and, as Red approached, another began glowing red. El accused Radomus of brainwashing his daughter and dragging her into the darkness. Gardevoir claimed Radomus had mistreated her, while Radomus seemed unaffected by her words. Adrienn and Cain seemed to be unsure of who the real villain was. Red analyzed the facts. El appeared to be a sort of Arceus fanatic. He claimed Luna had been kidnapped and brainwashed by Radomus. However, if that were the case, why had she been staying with Serra and Bennet before that? As for Gardevoir, at the mansion she didn't seem like she was able to keep a secret. It was unbelievable that she had kept this fury bottled up for years. Radomus, perhaps, was not disinterested in the distress of his own Pokemon, but ignoring an impostor. Red wasn't able to see any differences between the Gardevoir on the roof and the one at the castle, but a certain section of Kanto had been infested with a Pokemon species capable of mimicking another Pokemon down to the very last detail. Since the original target had likely been absent for quite some time, it would probably be easy to convince it to take another form... Red sent out his Magneton. Gardevoir stopped talking, turned silver, and morphed into an identical Magneton. All at once, everyone stopped talking. Radomus said he was glad he wasn't the only one who had seen through El's trick. Being exposed, El had his Ditto take in the holy energy from the ruins. It morphed into an Arceus and charged at Red. Magneton was hit by a Focus Blast, but survived thanks to Sturdy, and fired off a Thunder Wave. (El wastes all of his Full Heals here). Then Red switched to Demonslayer. Demonslayer used Perish Song, and the false idol was silenced. Radomus then called out to his Gardevoir. Gardevoir then teleported to the rooftop, and put El to sleep with Hypnotize. The group returned to the surface, and found that the Grand Gate had opened. Adrienn acted as though this were nothing strange, and walked through it. Xe let out a scream. Red and the others ran out. Adrienn didn't understand why the city was such a mess, and ran off to the Coral Ward. The others followed behind. Radomus theorized that Adrienn had been trapped in time for over a decade. They found Adrienn at the ruined gym. Adrienn claimed they would fix the city in its entirety. The others wished Adrienn luck, and returned to Radomus's castle so Red and Cain could have their battles. At the castle, Radomus asked that Red let him hold on to the pendant. Red reluctantly agreed. Radomus introduced the castle's new butler, Elias. It was El in a tuxedo. Luna seemed afraid of the man, but Radomus convinced everyone that El had been subdued and hypnotized. While fighting the gym trainers, Red noticed a worrying side effect of the battlefield. Some moves were causing the massive chess pieces Red had thought were there for decorations to crash into opposing Pokemon. Red knew two of his best Pokemon did not appreciate being hit by giant pieces of rock. Red quickly made some adjustments to his team before entering. Red finally entered the main battlefield. Radomus and Gardevoir were waiting for him, while Cain, Elias, and Luna watched on the sidelines. (Resets: Surprisingly, zero) Radomus led with Reuniclus and Gallade while Red sent out Blaine and a Vileplume. Using its Quick Claw, Vileplume moved first and used Grassy Terrain, rooting the chess pieces in place. Blaine used Heat Wave, dealing significant damage to Radomus's Pokemon and setting the field on fire. Gallade and Reuniclus teamed up on Blaine with Close Combat and Focus Blast, bringing him to the verge of fainting. Red quickly healed Blaine with a Moomoo Milk, while Radomus used a Hyper Potion on Gallade. Then Blaine knocked out both of Radomus's Pokemon with another Heat Wave. Noticing that Vileplume was taking heavy damage from the flames, Red switched it for Somno, who could stay above the heat. Radomus sent out Metagross and Malamar. A single Heat Wave from Blaine brought down Metagross and dealt heavy damage to Malamar. Malamar set up Reflect. Radomus sent in Slowking, who was put to sleep by Somno as Blaine knocked out Malamar with another Heat Wave. Gardevoir descended from the balcony, Tracing Blaine's Intimidate. Red was glad he hadn't switched it to Flash Fire. Blaine fired off a Heat Wave, dealing little little damage to Slowking and moderate damage to Gardevoir. However, Blaine was knocked out by Gardevoir's Psychic. Somno used Quiver Dance as Slowking slept on. The flames on the battlefield died down, and the chess pieces were free again. Red sent in Geodette. Not wanting to risk Slowking waking up, Red had Somno finish it with Bug Buzz. Geodette took a Moonblast from Gardevoir, almost fainting, but retaliated with a critical Earthquake, finishing the match. As Red collected his badge and TM, the lights flickered, then went out. The Team: Nicknames Awarded: Magneton >> Polarity Vileplume >> The Wilds

Drymus
And now that finals are out of the way, let's check up on Red again... Update 14: Somno did the thing again... Red and Cain made their way to the front door after Luna and Radomus made their exit. When they reached the entrance hall, they were met by Elias and two Meteor grunts. Elias revealed that he had only been pretending to be hypnotized. Cain, knowing Red's team was weakened from the battle against Radomus, created an opening for Red to escape. In the maze, Red was stopped by a Meteor grunt. Then the grunt removed his mask, revealing it was Radomus. Radomus said El had taken Luna back to the city. He showed Red a secret exit from the maze, and asked him to save Luna. He told Red that he suspected El and his cultist friends had a hideout in the black market of Reborn City, also known as Seventh Street. Red returned to the Aqua gang lair in Lapis Ward. He helped the gang run their rivals out of town. As thanks, he was given the address of a front that hid the entrance to 7th street. He bought some abused Pokemon with weird shards he had been collecting to make pottery out of. One of the Aqua gang members told Red that they were a component in a drug known as "Rare Candy", and Red noticed many people who appeared to be on hallucinogenics. After asking around about people in white robes, Red was directed to a nearby watering hole. There Red encountered Bennett in an outfit similar to El's. Bennett said he couldn't talk, as he was going to help "save" Luna. Deciding he had nothing to lose, Red said he also wanted to save Luna. Bennett said that since they had the same goal, he would show Red the way to El's hideout. Red was 99% certain it was a trap, but he had no other way of getting to the hideout. He followed. Sure enough, it was a trap, and Red was put in a cage. He became acquainted with the prisoner in the next cell, who had his Klefki release Red from his cell, since Red seemed to need to be somewhere. Red thanked him and ran off. Red made his way around various cultists without being caught. When he heard a voice on the intercom summoning all of the cultists to a worship service, Red hid in the library. Various cultist-type books were open on the table, with passages highlighted. A list of the passages had been scrawled down, with some circled. The word "PASSWORDS" was also written on the paper. Red made a copy for himself. He came to a suspicious looking room with four Arceus statues, each with a passage from the library and a four-digit dial. After Red set them to equal the appropriate passwords, the door opened. There, he witnessed El chaining Luna to an altar, Bennett holding a knife to Cain's throat, and a group of cultists standing guard. Bennett threatened to kill Cain if Red intervened. Red didn't see what he could do... until Gardevoir appeared and pushed Bennett away. One of the cultists removed their robe, revealing they were actually Radomus. Radomus held El down as Red freed Cain and Luna and Gardevoir teleported the guards away. Then they all were teleported outside by Gardevoir. Cain said he was going to investigate Agate City. Radomus said he was going into hiding. Luna gave Red a Crystal Plug, saying she would be waiting for him at her gym in Iola Valley. Red eventually found the valley, and made his way through the dark caves. He finally found Luna in a cave. She started to greet him, but screamed. Red turned around and saw that Bennett had followed him. Bennett began saying he was sorry. He then confessed his love to her, and asked her to marry him. Luna told Red that only someone with the Crystal Plug could advance through the cave, and to follow only when he was alone. Then she ran off. Bennett asked Red to give him the Plug. Having seen Luna's reaction to Bennett, Red refused. Bennett said he would take it from him, and sent out his Pokemon. His team was met with Blaine and Geodette, and the battle went in the direction one would expect it to go in. (Don't remember exactly how it went, sorry.) After Bennett left, Red moved on to challenge Luna. Luna led with the Carpenter, while Red sent out Blaine. One critical Heat Wave later, Luna sent in Bandersnatch. Believing Blaine could win by taking advantage of Bandersnatch's double weakness to fighting, Red had Blaine hit it hard with Close Combat. Bandersnatch was brought to the verge of fainting, but survived and knocked out Blaine with an Earthquake. As a side effect, the various crystals in the cave shattered, making it a normal cave. Red then sent in Somno, who danced as Luna healed Bandersnatch. Somno put Bandersnatch to sleep, danced again, and then fired off a Bug Buzz. The echoing attack instantly knocked out Bandersnatch. The rest of the battle didn't go well for Luna either. Red then departed. He decided to run a few errands before joining Cain in Agate City. The Team: BONUS: Blaine fights a level 81 monstrosity

Drymus
Update 15: Everyone loves the circus... Right? After Red finished gathering supplies and tracked down all of the Pokemon on his wishlist, Red met up with Cain outside of Agate City. The guards were all asleep, so Cain sent out Nidoking to smash through the gate. The city was extremely quiet. Cain noticed Aya and Hardy laying on the road, and Cain and Red both ran over to check on them. They didn't seem to be injured, just asleep. Cain claimed to be getting tired as well, and even Red was feeling a little drowsy. Suddenly, a woman with rainbow hair wielding a massive mallet jumped off the roof of a nearby building. Cain nearly avoided being crushed. Speaking in a manner that made even Cain feel embarrassed, she introduced herself as Terra, and told them it wasn't safe in the city. Then, without warning, she hit Hardy and Aya into the distance with her hammer. When Cain asked what she thought she was doing, she offered to send Cain and Red after them. They declined and followed her to a circus just outside of the city. When they arrived, she spun away. Several individuals were camped out at the circus, waiting for the city to reopen so they could return home. Red and Cain asked around to see if anyone had found Aya. The ringmaster of the circus said Samson the strongman had taken her into the back room. When taken there, they were introduced to Samson and Ciel the skydancer. It was revealed that they were the fighting and flying gym leaders, and that Terra was the ground gym leader. However, when Red started to ask about challenging them, the ringmaster said he needed to find a battle pass in the circus games. They were brought to the back room, where Aya was just waking up. She asked where Hardy was, and the ringmaster said she had seen a boy fly over the circus and into Route 2. Cain asked Red to go find him while he and Aya chatted for a while. After traversing the rocky terrain and abusing some Crustles, Red found himself at a small house with an official Pokemon league sign on the door. Red entered, and was greeted by Amaria. He was introduced to her lover, Titania. Titania seemed cold, and Red felt as though she didn't trust him. Red asked if someone had landed near their house nearby. Titania said she had found her brother Hardy lying on the ground and had taken him upstairs. She took Red upstairs, where Hardy was sleeping on the couch, and began slapping him. Hardy woke up and asked where he was. He didn't seem pleased to see his sister. He and Red were about to leave when they heard a news report on the TV, stating that Team Meteor had seized Labradorra City and surrounded it with a PULSE-generated forcefield. Saphira and other gym leaders were trying to mount a counterattack from the neighboring Calcenon City. Amaria wanted to go, but Titania wouldn't let her, claiming she was still hurt from the incident at the factory. Amaria asked Titania to give Red the HM for Surf so he could go instead. Titania saw that Red hadn't collected Samson's badge, which authorized the holder to use Surf outside of battle. She gave Red a battle pass she had been sent in the mail, and told him to come back when he had the badge. Hardy and Red headed back to the circus. Aya almost started crying when she saw Hardy, but quickly adopted a tsundre act when she saw he was alright. Hardy explained the situation in Calcenon, while Red challenged Samson to a battle. The ringmaster quickly set the stage. Samson led with Hariyama, while Red sent in Somno. Somno put Hariyama to sleep, and then danced. The spotlights and cheering crowd encouraged Somno, and Somno was able to reach maximum potential much quicker. Like others before him, Samson was forced to watch helplessly as Somno cleared away his team in its entirety. The Team: That was boring, and I also beat Charlotte in the same sitting, so I'll try to upload up to Charlotte tomorrow to show a real boss fight... Drymus
Update 16: Fun in the rain... Red returned to Amaria's house, agreeing to meet Cain, Aya, and Hardy in Calcenon. Amaria wasn't home, but Titania was. She said she would dig up the HM for Surf in the back, and to wait in the living room. Red accidentally knocked a book off of a table while she was away, and it landed face down. Titania came back as Red was putting the book back on the table. Red tried to explain, but Titania threw the disc at Red and told him to get out. She also told Red not to tell a word to Amaria. Just then, Amaria entered and asked what was going on. Red said he didn't know, so Amaria checked the book Red had just set on the table. She teared up and ran out the door. Titania and Red ran after her. Red arrived just in time to see Amaria jump over the waterfall. Titania said it was up to him to find a way for them to get back up, and dove in after her. Red returned to the mansion and read the book. It was Titania's diary, and it was effectively a confession of how she was getting tired of how she had to fake her relationship with Amaria, but she could never let Amaria know. Red couldn't think of anything he could do aside from continuing his original intended journey. Red taught his Starmie Surf, and made his way through Ametrine Mountain. He ran into a massive wall of ice, and found Cain and the others staring at it as well. Hardy led them all along an alternate path, and they found themselves looking at the stairway to Calcenon. Then there was a flash of light, and the stairway was reduced to rubble. Saphira appeared on her Dragonite, and explained that Team Meteor was attacking Calcenon with a PULSE Clawlitzer. She then flew off to continue to intercept the attacks. Hardy showed them the Eastern Bridge. Hardy and Cain went first across the bridge. Another flash of light occurred, and the bridge was shattered. Cain and Hardy were unharmed, but were at the bottom of the valley. Red and Aya agreed to meet them in Calcenon, and began searching the nearby caves for an alternate route. They eventually stumbled upon a random lab. Aster and Eclipse were in it, and ambushed the two (as in, my team was severely underleveled at the time...). Red and Aya retreated to the previous room, which had a healing machine and a PC. Red switched up his team, and he and Aya returned to the previous room. Lunatone and Solrock were met with Dragalge and Red's newly revived Omastar. Solrock attacked with Bulldoze, while Lunatone used Blizzard, which missed Dragalge. Omastar set up a Shell Smash while Dragalge hit Solrock with a Thunderbolt. Then Omanyte swept Solrock and Lunatone simutaneously with a mighty Surf. Dragalge fired off a Dragon Pulse at nothing in particular... Magmortar and Golurk were sent in next. Omastar used Surf again. Dragalge disappointedly spat out a Sludge Bomb. Rhyperior and Vileplume were sent in next. Rhyperior was washed away and Dragalge was brought to the verge of fainting, while Vileplume took minimal damage thanks to its typing. Then Vileplume finished off Dragalge with a Petal Dance. Electrivire and Nidoqueen were sent in next. Surf did moderate damage to the opposing Pokemon and heavy damage to Nidoqueen. Then Electrivire put an end to Omastar's bid to sweep. For some unknown reason, Nidoqueen hit Electrivire with a Flamethrower, and was finished off by another Petal Dance. Blaine and Tentacruel were sent in next. Aster quickly healed Electrivire with a Hyper Potion just before Blaine fired off a Heat Wave, finishing Vileplume. Then Tentacruel hit Electrivire with a Sludge Bomb, poisoning it. Aromatisse replaced Vileplume, and Tentacruel was taken out with a mighty Thunder Punch. Blaine fired off a Heat Wave, which missed Electrivire but managed to burn Aromatisse. Then Aromatisse hit Blaine with Thunder, and Electivire fainted from residual damage. Vespiqueen and Drapion entered the battlefield. Blaine's Heat Wave missed Vespiqueen and did minimal damage to Aromatisse. Red was starting to doubt his partner's battling skills when Drapion used Cross Poison on Vespiqueen, and became moderately upset when Vespiqueen's Struggle Bug and Aromatisse's Thunder knocked out Blaine. Geodette was brought in as the replacement. Eclipse healed Aromatisse, Drapion hit Aromatisse with Crunch (Why?), Vespiqueen hit Geodude with Attack Order, and Geodette missed a Stone Edge. Then Drapion hit Aromatisse with Aqua Tail (WHY?), Vespiqueen landed a critical Attack Order on Geodette, (WHY?!?), Aromatisse used Wish, and Geodette missed another Stone Edge. (WHY?!?!?) Then Drapion attacked Vespiqueen with Cross Poison again, Vespiqueen knocked out Geodette with another Attack Order, and Aromatisse missed a Thunder, but had its health replenished by Wish. (WHYWHYWHYWHYWHY) Polarity was sent in as Red shook his head. Drapion missed an Aqua Tail, but Polarity finally put an end to Aromatisse with Flash Cannon. Then Vespiqueen hit Polarity with a critical Attack Order. Milotic was sent out. Drapion hit Milotic with a critical Crunch, Milotic knock out Polarity with Scald, and Vespiqueen hit Drapion with Attack Order. Somno was brought in. Drapion hit Milotic with Cross Poison, Milotic struck back with Scald, and Somno put Vespiqueen to sleep. Then Drapion hit Vespiqueen with Aqua Tail, Milotic finished Drapion with Scald, Somno danced, and Vespiqueen woke up and used Struggle Bug on Somno, negating the SpAtk boost. Aya sent in Gengar. Next, Somno danced, Gengar used Icy Wind, Milotic Scalded and burned Gengar, and Vespiqueen used another Struggle Bug. Somno danced some more, Gengar finished Vespiqueen with Shadow Ball, and Milotic launched a Blizzard, which did minimal damage to Somno but knocked out Gengar. Venusaur was brought in. Somno put Milotic asleep and Venusaur hit it with Leech Seed. Red lost track of how many Pokemon Eclipse still had, so he had Somno dance two more times as Venusaur used Power Whip twice. There weren't any other Pokemon sent out after that, and it made Red feel like an idiot. Immediately after, Eclipse started typing commands into a computer. She said that the PULSE Clawlitzer was now deactivated, announced she was leaving Team Meteor because she was afraid her father's house would be hit, and thanked Red for coming. Aster asked what she was doing. Then Sirius entered and had his Chandelure attack her, stating that turncoats would not be forgiven. He explained that her soul was being burned away. Then he lunged at Red. Aya pushed him out of the way and told him to run. Red was painfully reminded of the incident with El at Radomus's castle. With his team crippled, Red once again had no choice. Red finally found his way to Calcenon. He met Saphira and Hardy by the barrier, and told them what had happened. As expected, they were quite upset about what had happened to Aya. Then Fern showed up on the other side of the barrier, taunting them and claiming to have joined Team Meteor. Hardy ran for him, repeatedly smashing into the barrier, but with no success. Red decided entertaining Fern wasn't the most constructive use of his time, and explored the city. He came across Charlotte's gym. As he was about to enter, Laura ran out, sobbing. Charlotte came out soon afterwards. She said Laura had lost her position on the Elite 4, and ran after her. Red found Cain, Shelly, and the orphans in a nearby house. They were discussing the trouble Ametrine was in due to the ice blockage in the mountains cutting it off from the rest of the region. Shelly was worried about Heather, who was apparently living up there now. Anna said that Red should go, and that the way through would be by diving under the blockage. Red had already won Dive among other prizes at the circus, but lacked the badge that authorized him to use it. Noel said that the badge that enabled Dive was Charlotte's. Red returned to the barrier. Sirius was now there. He had Aya as a hostage, and said he would kill her if he wasn't given the Ruby Ring. Hardy saw Red had it, and demanded that Red give it to Sirius. Saphira told Red not to, as nothing was stopping Team Meteor from killing everyone in Labradorra once they had the ring. Charlotte appeared, and asked Red if he really would let her die to keep the ring from Team Meteor. When he replied that he would, Charlotte grabbed the ring, told Sirius to meet her at the power plant, and ran off. Sirius dragged Aya away. Hardy was angry, but Saphira said that she had faith in her sister, and that Team Meteor wouldn't kill now that they thought Red had nothing of value. She told Red to challenge Charlotte and investigate Ametrine after he obtained the badge. Red found Charlotte in her gym. She gave him back the ring, and said not to worry, as she had just put on an act for Team Meteor. Then she warned Red that even though she wanted him to win, she wasn't going to go easy on him. Red led with Starmie and The Wilds against Typhlosion and Darmanitan. With his Quick Claw, The Wilds covered the battlefield in grass, temporarily disabling the heating system. (Yes, the buffs and debuffs are almost identical on the grassy field to the superheated field, but what I really wanted gone was that accuracy drop after Surf.) Then Starmie used Rain Dance, Typhlosion knocked out The Wilds with Eruption, and Darmatian hit Starmie with Flare Blitz. Then Red sent in Omastar. Starmie hit Typhlosion with a Power Gem, which greatly weakened its next Eruption. Then Darmatian knocked out Starmie and dealt critical damage to Omastar with Rock Slide, but also triggering Omastar's Weak Armour. Finally, Omastar used Shell Smash as it prepared to go onto the offensive. Typhlosion ate a berry as Red brought in Geodette. Red used Moomoo Milk on Omastar, then had Omastar wash the field with Surf. Geodette was left standing thanks to Sturdy, but Charlotte's Pokemon weren't so lucky. Next, Charlotte sent in Volcrona and Rotom-H. After Red healed Geodette back to full health with a Hyper Potion, Omastar washed the field away again. Charlotte brought in Delphox and Ninetales. Ninetales's Drought negated the Rain and gave fire the advantage once more by bringing in intense sunlight. The grassy terrain was overshadowed by a magnificent rainbow. Red, however, had a plan to deal with sunlight. He switched Geodette out for a Golduck he had caught in the mountains, and clouds appeared to block out Charlotte's last hope. Then Omastar concluded the battle. Drymus
Well, this update has been long enough in the making... considering I beat Terra a week and a half ago... Update 17: The second coming... With the HM for Dive and the authorization to use it, Red returned to Ametrine Mountain. He hadn't been listening at the time, but apparently Terra had said that the source of the sleeping issue in Agate City was on top of Ametrine Mountain. Red found a nice, deep underwater tunnel by the wall of ice and dove in. When he emerged, he found himself inside the ice wall. The only other thing there was a PULSE machine connected to a massive Avalugg. The machine was going haywire, and the Avalugg seemed to be in pain, so Red decided to do the most humane thing. A few Heat Waves from Blaine and a few Stone Edges from Geodette brought down the behemoth, and the massive ice walls came down with it. After the snow settled, Red saw the way up the mountain had become unblocked. Shelly was standing on the other side. After Red explained what had caused the blockage, Shelly wondered why Team Meteor hadn't placed the machine at a choke point, rather than in a wide open area. The two put the thought aside and continued to travel up the mountain. They reached Ametrine City and decided to split up. No one in the city was willing to speak about Heather. Red did overhear whispers about a "guardian angel" who had started distributing food to the people in secret after the emergency food supply, but no one was willing to tell Red anything. Red and Shelly found each other at an abandoned house on the edge of the city. They found a prototype PULSE machine, and a diary detailing how Zel had been formed from three people from a freak Magneton evolution incident. Suddenly, a man with blue hair entered. He told them they shouldn't go wandering into places they didn't belong. After insulting them, he left. Red and Shelly tried to follow him as he left, but were too slow. Eventually, Red and Shelly found out from a small boy that the man was named Blake. Red recalled that Cain had said something about Heather being adopted by someone named Blake. Believing it unlikely to be a coincidence given the size of Ametrine, Red and Shelly tracked down Blake's appartment. Blake was playing a video game. Shelly asked him where Heather was. Blake ignored them and continued playing. Red wanted to punch Blake, but knew he wouldn't find out Heather's location with physical violence. Finally, after clearing the level, Blake responded. He said he was with Team Meteor, and that he would release Heather if Red could get him the Ruby Ring. Recalling what Saphira had said, Red refused. Blake offered Red the HM for Waterfall in addition. Red still refused, and Shelly begged him to change his mind. Blake realized Red had the ring with him, and stole it. When Shelly asked where Heather was, Blake said that the deal was off, and that he was going to catch a helicopter. Red and Shelly ran after him. They saw a man who looked like Blake, but turned out to be Cal, who dyed his hair blue in an attempt to turn over a new leaf. Cal said he was sorry, and that he wasn't expecting forgiveness, but he still wanted to help them stop Team Meteor. He told them there was a secret passage in Blake's appartment that led to a prison/shed that Blake was likely keeping Heather in. Shelly looked for clues to the password. Red plugged in numbers until the door opened, needing only 2704 tries. (No, this isn't what I did.) Shelly had her pokemon Heather work together with not-pokemon-Heather's Salamence to break down the steel door, freeing not-pokemon-Heather. She apologized for how she had acted, and said she had been locked up by Blake for feeding the starving townspeople the stolen rations. She flew off on Salamence to pay back Blake and get her ring, taking Shelly with her. Red returned to the mountain. Cal was fighting his way through various grunts, but was having trouble, as his fire-type Pokemon were weaker in the cold, and he was outnumbered. He told Red that Blake was going to the top of the mountain to catch a helicopter, and that he wanted to stop him and possibly get back at Solaris if he showed up. Red joined Cal, and Blaine's Heat Wave was able to negate the extreme cold hindering Cal's team. After fighting through the first wave, they met up with Shelly and Heather. Heather and Cal flew off on their aces to intercept the helicopter fleet, while Shelly and Red fought the grunts on the ground. Finally, Red and Shelly reached the entrance to the top of the mountain. However, Aster appeared. Aster challenged Red to one last battle as Shelly went ahead to fight Blake, wanting to see if they could win by combining their team with Eclipse's. Red sent out Lady Helixia as Aster brought out Solrock. Solrock set a Reflect as Lady Helixia used Shell Smash. Then Lady Helixia washed away Solrock, Golurk, Rhyperior, and Magmortar with one Surf each. Helixia was able to do significant damage to Electrivire with Mud Shot, but fainted in return from a Thunder Punch. Geodette was brought in, and Aster used a Hyper Potion before nearly knocking Electrivire out with Earthquake, which survived only thanks to Solrock's Reflect. Another Hyper Potion was used, and Geodette hit Electrivire with a Bulldoze. With that, the Reflect faded. Electrivire hit hard with Cross Chop, but was finished by another Earthquake. Red switched over to Somno as Milotic was brought in. Somno put Milotic to sleep, danced twice, and dealt heavy damage with a Bug Buzz. Milotic woke up and responded with a Scald, which Somno shrugged off before finishing Milotic with a second Bug Buzz, finishing Aster. Aster said they were quitting Team Meteor, and gave Red the HM for Waterfall as thanks for setting them straight. Red continued onwards. Shelly had just been defeated, and Blake had just finished healing his team. Blaine and Helixia were met with Blake's Jynx and Rotom. Jynx hit both of Red's Pokemon with Blizzard, Blaine responded with Heat Wave(missing Jynx but destroying the field), and Rotom finished Helixia with a Thunderbolt. Red brought in Guardian, his newly acquired Vulpix, which immediately turned the weather to Red's favour. Blake switched Jynx for Weaville and healed Rotom, but both fainted to Blaine's next Heat Wave. As Blake brought in Walrien and Froslass, Red switched Guardian for Somno. Somno was immediately hit by Froslass's Shadow Ball, who was knocked out in turn by Blaine's Heat Wave. Walrein used Surf, which failed to finish either of Red's Pokemon. Vanilluxe was brought in. Red healed Blaine, and Blaine fired off another Heat Wave, nearly knocking out both of Blake's Pokemon. Vanilluxe missed Somno but hit Blaine with Blizzard, while Walrein finished Somno with Avalanche. Red brought in Geodette. Blake healed Vanilluxe as Blaine finished Walrein and undid the healing with Heat Wave. Finally, Geodette finished Vanilluxe with Heavy Slam. Blake's last Pokemon was Jynx. She failed to knock out Geodette with Energy Ball due to Sturdy and was knocked out immediately by Blaine's mighty Heat Wave, ending the match. Blake didn't seem too fazed by the loss, and prepared to board a helicopter. He even started waving the ring around to taunt Red. Then Heather flew by and stole the ring. Blake shouted curses at them as the helicopter flew off into the distance. Realizing where he was, Red looked for whatever was causing the sleeping spell in Agate. When he explained what Terra had said, Cal said there was no way such a structure could be supported at the top of the mountain. As he left, he gave Red some advice. He told Red to watch out for Terra, since he knew of her through Team Meteor. ******** Red returned to the circus. He revealed that Terra was a member of Team Meteor. Ciel and Samson didn't believe Red at first, but Terra then said something along the lines of her being unable to believe that it had taken Red this long to figure it out. Then she disappeared into her computer. Samson said the computer wasn't responding to any input, and seemed to be waiting for "Player 2." Seeing no other option, Red placed his hand on the monitor, and was sucked in. Everything went dark. ******** Red was on his way to challenge the Elite Four. His journey of almost a year had paid off. He had collected the eight badges of the Kanto region, and had agreed to meet his rival, Blue, at the throne of the league champion. He made his way through Victory Road, determined to reach the Indigo Plateau. In the back of Red's mind, something didn't feel right. The world seemed to be devoid of colour. Pokemon were receiving more or less damage than they were supposed to, and there seemed to be things that didn't belong. But Red paid these things no attention. The Helix Fossil in his bag, which had led him this far, promised that the end was in sight. The mighty Mewtwo appeared, blocking Red's path. Red smiled and sent out Lady Helixia, the goddess. Using her Quick Claw, she was able to Shell Smash before Mewtwo's Thunderbolt, and after two more boosts and several heals, she was able to bring down the heretic. Red strolled into the champion's lair. Terra, tamer of Ciels was waiting for him. Lady Helixia floated majestically in the air thanks to the Air Balloon Red had bought her. GIOVANNI was obviously jealous of Helixia's power, and brought her down to the ground with Blizzard. Lady Helixia used Shell Smash, preparing to smite him. And then she called forth a mighty flood, washing away GIOVANNI. EXCAKILL, CLAYBOYBUNNY, and HIPHOPOTAMUS were all swiftly dealt with by Helixia's mighty flood as well. SWAGSIRE, however, had the nerve to Unaware of Helixia's awesome powers, even going as far as burning her. After gaining more power, Helixia finally smited the foolish SWAGSIRE. However, one foe still remained. RAWRCHOMP entered the battlefield. Helixia struck... and narrowly missed the knockout, being knocked out in return. It was then that Red's Helix Fossil imparted a legendary battle tactic, passed down for generations... "HIT IT UNTIL IT DIES!" ********* Red woke up in the back room with Ciel and Samson. He didn't remember anything from his time in the computer, but had a splitting headache. He also had another badge on his Trainer's Card. Samson had unplugged the computer to keep Terra from getting away. Red remembered he needed to help Titania and Amaria. Not stopping to recover from his headache, he cycled as fast as he could to the mountains, and climbed the nearest waterfall as quickly as possible. It was only after he had gotten lost that he realized that Amaria and Titania had gone down the waterfall... Genesis
Lady Helixia was most impressive in this last update
Dragon116
The legendary battle tactic that has been heralded for generations was promptly lost at the end of this episode. So the world will need to call upon the Airbender to solve that dilemma.
