Malpha
I'm curious, because I am the type of guy that when he loses a battle he resets the game. I just can't stand the losing, that's why it took me more than an hour of tries to beat the LVL75 Garchomp. I wonder who also tried to beat him? Surely you guys remember, your pokemons are at lvl 35-40 at that point in the game. Peace
GenOneRaisedGenY
With the exception of my first playthrough I beat the garchomp every time. It alters a few details of the storyline, namely some of the battles you'll encounter at the end of episode 15.
Fumble
I personally never beat it (since I'm too lazy and don't care about the different scene in E15), but I know some people who did it by using Perish Song/Destiny Bond.
ShadowStar
Cofagrigus really came in handy for that battle. Curse and Will-O-Wisp were key.
Combat
I've only done one play through so far, and got my head handed to me, but seeing as the battle is optional, I don't feel bad about my loss.
GenOneRaisedGenY
Cofagrius a good option, as is perish song Murkrow. I also once used ditto with good results - nothing better than beating Solaris with his own Dragon Rush
Grizzlybrand
Destiny bond is bestiny bond
EternalJinn
My first couple of runs I went with yamask mummy + fear rattata but I've migrated more toward using bulky pokemon like gourgeist to wear garchomp down
Hexagoen
honestly for me, in my first run i skipped it, but for my second run, (since i wanted the alternate ending) i chose to beat it. TL:DR destiny bondddddd (and perish song i guess)
sound of silence
I used several pokemon with intimdate to lower its attack to -6, then used leech seed from a bulky grass type. This works best if you have a pokemon with protect as well, or a low level pokemon with the ability sturdy.
Genesis
Quickest way I know of is a sturdy counter pokemon like Sudowoodo
Malpha
Nice tactics guys. I gotta be honest, cheated a bit; got myself a few focus sashes. Than screech from growlite and pupitar, OHKO with outrage
krim
Did it in a mono-dark run, actually. 3 prankster sand attack purrloins and a craudaunt with swords dance brought it down.
Nivircity
I didn't. I tried a couple of times and saw that Thunder Wave didn't work on it. I just kept losing so i skipped it.
Commander
I believe my strategy the first time I beat it was Rain, Intimidate with Arbok, Hit it with a Leech Seed from Cherrim, Something about reflect and Sand Attack and the almighty stall war or something. I know there was an exploit back when I first did it where I manipulated it to keep spamming Fire Fang on Alakazam letting it live the attacks and do damage. But yeah, there are quite a few easy ways to beat the guy easily with basically no effort.
Xiri
Perish Song Seel / Destiny Bond Trevenant ...or spam Sand-Attack with Prankster Liepard, and stall it down with Toxic Garbodor.
Genesis
Nice tactics guys. I gotta be honest, cheated a bit; got myself a few focus sashes. Personthing
I simply cheese it by abusing Stoutland's intimidate + baby doll eyes to lower it's attack as low as it can go. Then I just spam Lava Plume with Typhlosion to get a field boost and burn.
Luna
perish song kricketune(yes i over lvled it in the day care by accident in my first run ever) and for most of my other runs i use either destiny bond or sturdy+counter.
Malpha
How do yu have a Pupitar :/?? It's T-tar now (: Edited my save file with RPGmaker
laggless01
I think there was an old thread about this somewhere...Anyway, I just used Prankster Meowstic to ease it with Reflect, and Cofagrigus just takes it from there (WoW, Power Split, Curse, Hex/Shadow Ball). Easy win. (maximizing HP and Def with a Relaxed/Bold nature is optimal)
Drymus
Trainer Red defeated Garchomp with an Arcanine, 3 Growlithes, and a Wigglytuff.
Zane0144
On my mono rock run I used explosion from golem plus counter from sudowoodo to beat it Edited December 4, 2015 by Zane0144
Xenome
When i beat it I generally use perish song kricketune with focus sash, but I remember once managing to set up 5 mighteyena(used a revive) w/ intimidate then using a Garbador with to take its attacks while I whittled its health down.
