[Closed] Christmas time with the Light~

Reignited'Light

Recommended Posts

Hey guys! Two weeks before my winter break, so I'm gonna make a teambuilding workshop. Also December is the time when you're supposed to give/receive, so that's fun!

1. OU only (mons can be whatever tier, but only building OU teams)
2. list set importable with core or one unique set or something.
3. I'm doing this at my own pace and refuse to do requests that are so common or something like... Charizard-Y+Tyranitar, even though that's not common as much, but besides the point.

Also since I'm a very lazy person, this might not be open for a long time, so I'll probably close it before my winter break starts, but who knows?

start requesting!

mega sceptile with a great speed of 427 is cool. outspeeds ton of stuff!
Anyway, I slapped Azumarill and Heatran as stallbreakers, something Sceptile and Jirachi (Fire Punch on Jirachi so Ferrothorn/Scizor can't set up on it in case Heatran is weakened) can't really do. Plus the Grass/Fire/Water and Dragon/Fairy/Steel combination of types is so badass. Latios for Defog and nothing really switches in except for Bisharp/Tyranitar, which our team checks easily. Ditto is on the team to revenge kill literally everything. Only loses to opposing choice scarf users which is a 50/50, and the team should be able to come in on some scarf users. depends. No Hoopa-U or Kyurem-B switch in, but they aren't switching in against you anyway. Also Sceptile outspeeds Scarf Hoopa-U! :D

Uh... this team was really hard to make decent, since plusle and zangoose on the same team makes checking threats difficult. Garchomp to take on most priority which plusle and zangoose are weak to. Rotom-W/Torn-T for VoltTurn and a way to get in plusle/zangoose/mega diancie safely. Mega Diancie bounces hazards since no defog, and checks Dragon types, which the team would get slaughtered by.

Changed some EV spreads around. Probopass>Nosepass to trap Ferrothorn (just so Gardevoir and Gastrodon have an easier time). EVs allow it to 3HKO standard ferrothorn. Try not to switch in vs Leech Seed. Gastrodon>Chansey so you don't get beaten by weavile, as it can dismantle this team completely. U-Turn and Foul Play>Knock Off Taunt on Mandibuzz, so it has more useful utility. Yes Taunt is a great move, but with Mandibuzz's slow speed, it won't be able to stop the faster Stealth Rock users that roam in our ORAS meta. U-turn to pivot around so Gardevoir can come in safely. Depends what you need to switch in.

I'd run Reflect Type>Substitute on Mega Latias, just so I can switch out vs dark types without being weak to Pursuit. That slot can be anything you want, really. I prefer Reflect Type though. Basically you just wear down the opponents team with hazards. Starmie can either use Reflect Type/Thunder Wave, but it's there for hazard removal and beats most sr users anyway. Clefable has tbolt so when you set up a Calm Mind on that Skarmory/Talonflame/Heatran, you're not a sitting duck when it taunts you next turn. you can also run ice beam>moonblast for the boltbeam coverage on clefable as well.

Basically added a Magnezone for the skillless trapping and sweep with everything on this team. not much to say for this squad other then it might be weak to Scarf Hoopa+Ice spam, but fuck that bullshit. k so pretty much I just took mons that appreciated SR/Hazard lead mons gone, like Skarmory/Tank Chomp/Ferro/Lando-t. When those threats are removed, Mega Lopunny and Raikou can break more offensive teams easily. Tank Garchomp because this team has no reliable check to Talonflame. For Will-O-Wisp taunt, check it with Raikou. Other variants lose to Tank Chomp. Also it takes bullet punch from scizor, which the team doesn't really appreciate, so that's good. Metagross takes on psychic types like latios, which can click a draco/psyshock and do a shit ton of damage. Also a Clefable check along with Azumarill, which is great. Quick Attack lop outspeeds talonflame before it can even roost or brave bird or something, so you can kill it before it does anything to you.

Game plan is to remove electric types and offense cores for thundurus-t to sweep late game. HP Flying>Ice cause this team can be annoyed by Mega Venusaur. This can be HP Ice if you really feel like Chomp/Lando-T is a problem, but I don't think so.
Tyranitar removes Lati twins so Thundurus does not have to deal with that. Excadrill benefts in sand and breaks offensive teams. Keldeo also breaks through a lot of playstyles, while benefiting from tyranitar's pursuit. CM+HP Fire Latios just kicks Ferrothorn in the face, since it's also an annoyance. most of the time people think it's cm+dual stab+recover. I don't use psyshock other than... for keldeo/mega altaria/clefable???, but the team can check fairies well, and keldeo isn't a problem either. Mega Metagross for a fairy check and weakens everything.

Looks great, thanks! Also, never used AV Metagross, always wanted to take it for a spin.

And since Sigi is basically that team's hazard-setter remover, should I ditch Shadow Ball for HP Ground for Heatran? Or idk, Enegry Ball for Rotom? I just put SB there randomly, but does it hit anything relevant (that doesn't outspeed and kill it)?

Nah. I say no, since most of the team can deal with Heatran, so Sigilyph does not need a coverage move to hit it. Shadow Ball hits bulky Psychic types that take almost nothing from any of your other attacks, like Reuniclus and Slowbro. Energy Ball works, but I'm sure Psychic 2HKOs defensive variants, anyway.

crobat.pngdiancie-mega.pngmanaphy.pnglucario.pnglatias.pngclefable.png

I gave Roost>Giga Drain on Crobat for better longevity, but Giga Drain works to hit Rotom-W, although it doesn't have much uses. really. Pretty much getting rid of Crobat's counters. TG Manaphy+SD Lucario breaks a lot of defensive teams, while Clefable breaks stall, although it might be a bit more challenging without Thunder Wave. Diancie-Mega helps break down teams for anything on the team to sweep. Latias is for Defog support and the glue to the team. Doublade set can replace Lucario if you want, but Lucario is more useful with priority.

Pretty much you lead with lando-t as a suicide lead, and make aggressive switches. Team at first glance seems strange at first, but you're just weakening bulkier teams with Raikou/Feraligatr/Scizor, while offensive teams have to deal with latios/scarf terrakion/raikou/possibly feraligatr. Nothing on this team is going to take a hit by any means, so don't be afraid of having no switch ins for some threat.

Sweet Jesus Christ and Mother of God Skitty calm the hell down! This squad is pure murder! Welp, can't dislike a nice and dandy mad offensive team, thanks a lot :P

Also, I guess one of the Rock moves on Terra should be EQ, right? Or is it Rock Slide for more safety, and Stone Miss together in case I really need to hit something as hard as I can?

*eyes the team of his confused friend from a nearby country intently*

If we can get more requests per person, what about Scarf Moxie Heracross and stallbreaker fairykiller Gengar?

Gengar @ Black Sludge

Ability: Levitate

Timid Nature

Heracross (M) @ Choice Scarf

Or EQ over something if you see fit. Damn Fairies.

PS. Any and all trolly EV spreads for Gengar are very welcome.

You can run EQ, but since Rock+Fighting hits like everything, EQ wouldn't be necessary. Hits Poison types/Heatran? Although we can deal with them, easily. Replace Rock Slide if you run EQ.

I'll finish squads tomorrow or later tonight, idk lol

Guts>Moxie Heracross, mainly cause there isn't really a move that Heracross will lock itself into to sweep.
Pretty much team is based around Zard-X. You're slowing down/weakening threats with paralysis/burns for Zard-X to sweep. Not much to say about this squad, although watch out for opposing Gengar, as it 2HKOs the whole team, although Heracross/Zard-X/Gengar speed tie at worst can check it.

k so team pretty much explains itself, but here it is. Rhyperior is a great defensive wall, although loses to grass/water/fighting/ground types, so I slapped venusaur. (can't exactly "eat" up ground types, but it can retaliate with Giga Drain and get lots of HP back. Infernape is the team's Bisharp and Weavile counter, which can be a real bitch to face. Manaphy was added when Venusaur and friends were down the opposing team. I noticed Latios just clicks Draco Meteor, everytime it comes in, so to fix this, AV Metagross was added so it tanks the Draco, pursuit trap it, and the team can resume being defensive. Latias glues the team in case Manaphy or one of the defensive walls get too low.

can't baton pass with quiver dance boosts anymore, so we're gonna do the next best thing to get a sweep. Volt-Turn combo helps moth get in safely and grab some boosts, then sweeps teams. of course, this won't be possible without more support. Weavile kills lati twins so it can no longer just grab a free kill with Draco. Keldeo is the stallbreaker/late game sweeper when weavile removes threats. ditto is there just for the sake of having a revenge killing piece of shit. If something sets up all over you, it's not all hope gone! Venomoth is just kinda filler, but at least it checks Mega Venusaur I guess, lol. Outspeeds everything with two Quiver Dances, This team doesn't have a defog or hazard control, but weavile and keldeo beats most of the Stealth Rock users in the meta now, so just pressure them from setting it up.

just so victreebel can maximize it's uses, I added tar+exca to reset sun for zard-y/victreebel/heatran. what's great is that victreebel+exca beat offense, and zard+tar break stall. Keldeo is there for weavile checking and hp electric for some gyarados that probably can be a problem. Heatran sets up rocks and is a ground resist with air balloon. it's a good squad I tell you that!!!!!!

I have an incredibly soft spot for Gen 1-2 Pokemon, Mind Reader Skitty confirmed. Or it was just Skeesus all along. Anyway, this squad will be incredibly neat if Mega Sableye stays around, with Rocks Clef and Defog>Spin.

Also what's up with KamxMag? :P

Guts>Moxie Heracross, mainly cause there isn't really a move that Heracross will lock itself into to sweep.

Also didn't really get that line. You just prefer Guts over Moxie for OUCross in general or should I consider switching it to Guts for that team too?

Again, many, many thanks and much love!

Kam's favorite strategy is to be a bitch with magnezone because he can't predict vs steel types

Seriously though, it's just a great core, tbh.

I say Guts>Moxie, but I kept Moxie just for you if you feel like it's important. Either ability works! Now on to the two teams.

mismagius.pnggarchomp.pnglopunny-mega.pnglatias.pngthundurus.pngazumarill.png

HP Fighting>Ground for the Ghost+Fighting combination which beats like everything. Kinda like a Gengar. I added Garchomp so ghost witch doesn't lose to all priority. Lopunny weakens stuff like Dark/Normal who can tank ghost witch. Latias and Thundurus takes on offensive teams for mismagius so that's cool. Azu is there for a dragon switch in.

Signal Beam>D Gleam so we can take care of Hoopa. You still hit dark types hard with it anyway, and things like ttar die to focus blast. Everything else on the team is kinda standard except for the latias. You lure ferro and heatran better then latios does, and you weaken them so Alakazam checks those better.
