As the winter season rapidly descends upon us, it's time to bring out one of the most enjoyable (at least, it is in my humble opinion) traditions that Reborn has to offer: the Reborn Holiday party! Each and every one of you are invited to join us Saturday, December 19 at 5PM EST (GMT-5) on the Reborn Showdown server, specifically in a room called "Holiday Party". This party will run all night, so don't worry if you can't be there at first! Now, I know what you must be thinking. What on earth is there to do at this party? Well, wonder no more friends! Listed below are the activities we plan on having (with their descriptions in the spoilers!)Reborn Royalty The staple event of the Christmas parties, the thrones of Jack Frost (male), Snow Queen (female), and Polar Monarch (non-binary) are vacant once more! Please post your nominations in this thread, with each nomination clearly marked! I'll update this post to show every nomination that has been made. We're also going to do things a little differently this year, in that we would prefer people to only run for one category. The reason for this is that we want to make things as fair as possible, and if one person gets nominated for all three categories (as Dan was last year) they also have the chance to win in more than one category, which isn't too cool for the others nominated. Should a user be nominated for multiple categories, they will be PMed and asked which they would prefer to be nominated as. The actual voting for the Royalty positions will begin at 6:30PM EST on the server. All votes should be sent to Abbey Street, who will tally and announce the winner for us at the end of the night! Hosted by Jericho, this is what he likes to call "Present or No Present". Here's how he described it for last year's party:Each person is to bring one gift. It can be anything from a few rupees (stated before hand to Jericho as an IOU to whomever ends up with their gift), a shop item, or something else, you think will really brighten someones day. Remember the best gift is giving! Once you have told Jericho what you have brought, all presents will be pooled and masked and you will be assigned a number of which will determine the order in which you pick your gift. The first person to go will open one of the presents, they will then either be allowed to accept that present or choose to open another one, which they must take if they do so. Assuming the first person has opened a 2nd present, person #2 may either choose the open present, or open another one, which they must take. If the first person took their first gift, the next person will be permitted to open one and defer to a 2nd present. In short, every person will have a choice of 2 presents, and they may or may not know the identity of their first choice.Three different Santa Lottery sessions will be hosted, at 6:30PM EST, 10:00PM EST, and 1:30AM EST (subject to change at Jericho's discretion). Also, in the spirit of the season, a special gift of $R 2500 will be placed into each Santa Lottery. Come participate and remember: no gift is too big or too small when it comes to giving to others! (Do try to be reasonable though) Snowball Fight Another fun festivity, I'll be hosting our annual holiday tournament! As per the poll in Victory Road (thanks for the feedback, y'all), this tour will be a Single Elimination Singles tournament. There will be some unique rules that I'll ask you to pay mind to for this tournament. This tournament will take place at 7:00PM EST. The only types you are allowed to use in this tour are Grass, Fire, Water, and Ice. Every team must use a Delibird! The format is OU, meaning that all megas and legendaries in the tier are allowed. Dual types are permitted. With that being said, have a ton of fun teambuilding around this very special winter 'mon! Now, the prize this year is going to be drastically different than it has been in prior years. The winner of the Snowball Fight Holiday tour will receive the honor of becoming the first recipient of the Saya Monoke award!Who is Saya Monoke, you ask? Well, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when the Reborn League was running, he was the first challenger ever to receive all 17 badges during season 1. The award is named in his honor and meant to commemorate the skill of the winner of the Snowball Fight Holiday Tournament. Queen and King's Game Another pair of traditional Reborn games, both King and Queen's game make their return to the Reborn server! These two games symbolize both sides of "Truth or Dare", with Queen's Game being the game of truthfulness and King's Game being the time when you can dare others to your heart's content. Be warned though: King's Game is liable to get carried away. I strongly advise that, unless you are comfortable with mature topics and being put out of your comfort zone, you strongly consider whether or not you'll participate. Rebornies! A new feature coming to this year's party! The Rebornies are awards given out to members of the userbase commending their participation within the community or traits that we all find to be important in making Reborn a great place to be at. Now, before you go all willy nilly with your nominations, please note that members of the Auth team BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 2015 ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR AWARDS. This means that Hunter and Tacos are NOT eligible, while Eternal Edge, Derpy Simon, Arkhidon, and Rosesong may be nominated. In addition, a user cannot nominate more than three users for a single Rebornie category. You can post your nominations in this thread (I'll update this post with the names of each nominee). Official voting will begin at 8:30PM EST on the server. All votes should be sent to Abbey Street, and winners will be announced at the end of the night! Note that you do not need to be present to validate your nomination. Amethyst, Blind Guardian, Ikaru, Godot, and Jericho are NOT ELIGIBLE to vote for the Rebornies.What are the Rebornie categories? Should you have a request for a tune that you're just itching to hear (make sure it follows the Reborn rules), shoot it at Arkhidon or Tacos so that they can play it during the suggestion portion of the DJing. Miscellaneous Events During the night, we'll be interspersing several games into the mix as well. Included, but not limited to, are the following games: Cards Against Humanity Board Game Online Town of Salem (please note that you need an account to play this; if you're interested, try to sign up beforehand) Mafia Reborn Hunger Games: Winter Edition Member Scavenger Hunt ??? Aces in the Hole This is another new game that we're bringing in for the holidays, and it's all about the site's Ace members and Forum auth. Four of these members have been randomly chosen to becomes Aces-- specifically, the Ace of Spades, Ace of Hearts, Ace of Clubs, and Ace of Diamonds. Your job will be to guess the identity of the Ace member or Forum auth behind the name. When you think you know the identities of all four Aces, PM either Arkhidon, Jericho, or LidaRose on the server-- we'll tell you if your answers are correct! Cause if that the case it seems a bit unfair to those guys to not allow it just cause I work on the game. The current wording as I understand it, makes it that it's not allowed to be voted for. Those guys put in a lot of hard work and I really don't want that to be the case jsut because they happened to be friends with me and want me to do dialog work for the game. It would be pretty uncool if that were to happen so I want to voice my concern now. The problem being that the wording is STRICTLY, no auth.
