Gaunt
I guess you can stand to open your mind a little bit, but that's all. Yeah i know that's a flaw of mine or...well...what some people (not me) perceive as a flaw but with my self-centered personality that's not really an option (the Dark Side is strong in me). My favorite sci-fi world is the world of Shadowrun, though whether or not I'd live there is a... Tough choice. The place is a load of drek, but there's fun to be had, slagger. One of my favorite too and i would totally live there (probably in the service of a Great Dragon). Now to the question(s): 1) What is your opinion on cloning (human in particular) 2) What you think of A.I. and should we really strive to build one? Kurotsune
have you regretted any of your life choices? Oh, several. And although I'd like to pretend they don't fester in my head, most do. I guess I also have a lot of growing up to do. You're okay, DD. I don't think we ever spoke, so I can't really give you an opinion. Yeah i know that's a flaw of mine or...well...what some people (not me) perceive as a flaw but with my self-centered personality that's not really an option (the Dark Side is strong in me). Now to the question(s): 1) What is your opinion on cloning (human in particular) 2) What you think of A.I. and should we really strive to build one? 1-> I'm fine with it. If we were to isolate the perfect set of genes and started cloning them instead of reproduction, wouldn't that still be natural selection at work? Gaarrryyy... Gaaarrryyy! Be it that or breeding brainless clones to harvest organs, I don't see a problem. 2-> AI could be beneficial, but the cons far outweight the pros. The fact of the matter is; Imagine awakening as a superentity, and gaining acess to a gigantic wealth of information - The internet. Within the internet you will see videos, movies, documents and even this post, all detailing how a great sum of people think you're doomed to be evil and need to be destroyed. Wouldn't be a stretch to imagine such an entity lashing out pre-emptively out of a sense of self-defense, would it?

If said A.I. would have a basic "human" intelligence (or "pattern of behavior") then probably yes (i know i would) but if not...who knows? Either way it would be interesting indeed. Another question: if you could choose to have a psychic ability what would it be?
Kurotsune
If said A.I. would have a basic "human" intelligence (or "pattern of behavior") then probably yes (i know i would) but if not...who knows? Either way it would be interesting indeed. Another question: if you could choose to have a psychic ability what would it be? Well, let's detail this a bit more with what the "big minds" have been theorizing and why they wrote that letter saying the world's going to shit if we pursue artificial intelligence. Following Moore's Law, we can determine that every X (theoretically 18) months, the numbers of transistors on a chip ("Number of transistors per square inch") doubles. This determines that every X months, the potential for transmitting and processing information doubles. Following this idea, what happens if you create a computer whose purpose is to create another computer, better than it was? Well, you're going to speed up Moore's law. Say the first computer takes 12 months, the next would take less than that. Even if it took 11 months, 29 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds, that makes it a second faster. As the robots continue building better and better robots, it'll eventually reach a point where it takes the robot a second to build it's successor, and then less. Eventually this development will be so fast that we will reach the point known as the Singularity - The moment at which a supercomputer can design another in a succession so quick we cannot in fact predict, control, calculate or even understand it. At such a point, that machine grows beyond the human ability of understanding. And so we would never really be able to know just how much that machine is capable of; That inherent state of distrust is what would make us attempt to destroy it or cease it's process; At such a point, it stands to reason it'd act in self-defense. If it does not, however, we still lose, as we lose out the potential to speed up our technological advancements, potentially, thousands of years. ...And mind control. I'm lazy and would use it for everything.

Kurotsune
If we discovered a way to reliably travel throught space(as in going anywhere in space, not just our observable universe), I'd probably sell everything I own for a chance at a trip. Otherwise... Technology that allows one to alter their body or mind would probably greatly assist in psychological treatment and staying fit, so that'd be great. And virtual reality. God bless virtual reality that would give me both those things.
Pyon Pyon Kyuu!~
Another question, what's the best type of mech to destroy a class 7 greater red novian space worm if it was mutated to resist all cold weapons and energy beams, and was raised in a Tarraxian galaxy so it's accustomed to high level radiation? In this scenario you do not have instant access to a mothership so no planetary artillery is available. This creature is also about a millennia old so it's the size of a gas giant. In this scenario you do not have instant access to a mothership so no planetary artillery is available. This creature is also about a millennia old so it's the size of a gas giant. Well in this scenario we have to first remember red novian worms are naturally fireproof so using fire - the element you neglected to address - would be invalid. However the fact the creature is the size of a gas giant actually helps us; See, the Red Novian has a weakspot on it's underside, usually only small enough to notice but this one would be about the size of a cherry; Because of this you could shove in a wood pick from the wood of a class 59 duotrylene planet and it would destabilize the worm, causing it to explode. Kurotsune
Favourite fruit? Tea or coffee? When did you first develop anninterest in comouters and code? Favorite fruit? Melon. Favorite juice is mango, though. Tea of coffee? I can't stand coffee. Tea all day. When did you first develop an interest in computers and code? When I was fifteen years old and I moved out to live on my own, I started trying to learn how to do minor fixes on things by myself. This led to me learning how to assemble a computer, although this wouldn't directly translate into coding for years. I first majored economy, then gastronomy, almost studied psychology abroad, and then I was finally told to "just try it" by my best friend, who at the time I had known for over ten years. So I started the major and I was immediately told by my teachers I was a natural at it. I started learning more and growing more and more interested in following it, and the rest is history. Tl;dr: Don't worry if you can't figure out what you want in life yet, I couldn't and now I pretend to be a black fox in a pokémon fan game forums! ...That didn't sound as inspiring as I hoped it would. Marcello, you're a great guy with a willingness to learn and a drive to succeed. Find your way to Brazil and to a degree in computer sciences and I'll personally get you a job. Gaunt
As suggested by a person which name i will not reveal because we all need a little mystery in life here is my unpredictable and totally random question: what was your best moment in our community? Aaaand bonus question: if you were to be abducted by aliens (assuming they are very interested in making experiments on humans for an unknown reason) what would your actions be? Aaaand bonus question: if you were to be abducted by aliens (assuming they are very interested in making experiments on humans for an unknown reason) what would your actions be? By and far, my favorite moment in this community was when I joined and everyone wanted to kill me for making fun of Arkhidon. Nah. Here's some of my favorite moments: And several other things that have been quotebooked. Basically, I greatly enjoy screwing with people. And uh I'd probably be strapped to some sort of machine begging for my life.
Tartar
From the deepest parts of Tartarus, I have come hither, to work my necromantic arts and revive this thread. Now, arise, AMA of the one we call Kurotsune, plague your creator with questions once more! So ~ - "How do you feel your studies of psychology have influenced your behavior and the way you deal with people on- and offline?" You asked me to ask you this question, so feel free to answer. But from you said in a previous answer, it seems like you haven't studied psychology at all. So the question could be rephrased to how have your studies of economy, gastronomy and computer-sciences influenced your behavior? ... - How did Ame blackmail you into joining the Reborn development team? And have you perhaps developed stockholm syndrome while here? Edited October 18, 2016 by Tartar
