The Cook's Special: A Hearthstone Deck Analysis and Spotlight [Interest Check, Rough Idea]

Howdy folks, and welcome to my Inn! Why don't ya take a seat by the Fireplace and prop up those feet o' yers. After all, it's cold out there isn't it? Have a drink, a hearty meal perhaps to warm that frame o' yers. But, certainly don't forget to play a nice game of Hearthstone as well.

Silliness aside really welcome! today I'm going to discuss a pitch, mostly to see if there are enough folks interested in me doing this big ol' shabang. I know I briefly touched on it in a post within the main thread but I think it's time I make an actual effort towards it and make my pitch to you guys.

Before that though let me Introduce myself. I don't make that common a foray outside of the Roleplay forums on this very site, but I think I'd like to make an effort to step out juuuuuust a little and really have some. Many of you might know me as the RP Sensei, or... maybe not at all do to how rarely I poke my head around places. Either way, I'm glad you choose to read my thread and I hope you really dig this idea and you really help out. I think the Daily Special ((name still a working title and not set in stone.))

The Pitch: What I want to do here is make a semi-regular topic that discusses or spotlights current decks in the meta of Hearthstone. How strong these decks are has little merit into the discussion, however It'll be fun to cover some big hitters in the meta and hit those hidden gems as well. I'm also thinking of doing class spotlights and talking about Classes in general and really getting a working understanding of Cards etc out there to the people. I want this to be a resource that they can use to learn and grow. While I may just start out with Deck Spotlights, I want to try and do Class Spotlights, Card Spotlights ((like Epic Cards maybe as a whole topic, or cards that have certain effects, that kind of thing. Or even maybe just focusing on 1 card in specific.)) perhaps even heavier topics like Deck Formulating etc can be done in the future as well.

The thing is, this will take a looooooooooooad of work. So, I'm not sure I can 1. Do it with how much stuff I'm already doing. 2. On my own, and 3. If there's enough interest to even warrant this. After all, at times the thread for it already is pretty slow and halts to a pretty hardcore crawl at times so I worry if it's worth me doing something that will take so much work and work that other places have Experts for. I certainly don't know everything under the sun so... it's definitely pretty tough for me to easily do this on my own.

I would definitely need images of all the cards to be able to use in a neat organized database I can easily pull from. Kinda like this ((though I just lazily uploaded this to imgur for an example.))

So if there's any convenient database that is known about send it my way, or, help me compile that bad boy XD. This way it's easy to have a visual representation of the card and to easily show someone the card without vaguely explaining it, or having to explain it to a new player from a nebulous position. Also so I don't have to explain it literally anytime I talk about it, it's right there for the player to look at and understand. ((Gold Card animations are completely unnecessary, however, might be nice to have for Singular Card spotlights just for extra awesome!)) Token Cards ((things that are generated by other cards and aren't obtainable.)) being ripped would also be helpful that way I can put the Tokens out as well for easy reference.

Also, on my own it'll take awhile for me to compile up the information for a singular discussion thread and to maintain the main thread for discussion and feedback on the series, hosting the all the previous editions and discussing what people will want to see potentially from next week's(("from next very loose segment of time and stuff's" just doesn't sound very catchy...)) edition. I will typically screenshot the entirety of the deck

Ultimately I'd love to have a person who was the Expert for each class in the game on a panel etc, but that's being overly optimistic already for one and they'd have to be pretty strong players, Even I'm not too confident in my skills at the moment and really need to brush up and finally pull my weight into Legend rank. I'd love to hear what people think and if there's actually... any interest in this idea. Maybe if there were those willing to help me make it a reality as well! Well, I shall let you discuss and ask me some questions and what not. Have at it! Maybe, you'd like me to do an example of it before you folks are convinced? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the read and hope I get some people talking in here about this. Would you like to see this? Should I just focus on Deck Spotlights or should it be varied and flip around to different subjects? I'd love if you guys could ask some questions of me, or answer mine to you. Anyway, Hukuna Sensei...Out~

I mean of course but that's for general Discussion and you know, "Man this game was crazy hehe" stories etc... this is more meant to be a semi-regular guide to certain decks that are in meta that go in-depth in describing them. Think about a Team Showcase or RMT for Pokemon, but jsut for Hearthstone instead. This Series would aim to take a deck and really analysis it down to the nitty gritty, what certain cards did in the standard list, maybe provide some Meta Tech card ideas etc. It's meant to be way more in depth. The Main Thread is more for just talking about the game, usually in a casual manor. This would be basically to help players improve, learn about new decks and ultimately start climbing Ladder if they so choose. I may even do some that would specialize on Arena and it's meta, but it would be much more in-depth on certain topics. Basically, this format wouldn't working the main thread. It's too detailed a look at something and probably get ignored or eat up all the discussion leaving people without a place to just share their "I just kicked butt like you wouldn't believe" stories without just butting in. It wouldn't play nice with the normal actual Thread since it needs o be able to thrive on it's own discussion with people being able to more easily suggest Tech cards they think I missed or just their builds of a deck they think are really good or work for them. Perhaps even have Budget versions of that deck that players with less cards could run to get in on the ground floor and get a taste of the deck they really want in the end but don't quite have everything for.
