Anthony810
Throughout our life we listened to music, but what music did you listen to when you were young like Kid from then to now? For me it was Country, then whenn 1998/1999 came it was when I had a taste of Heavy Metal and then it was rap Limp Bizkit and somewhat DMX. Then Rock n Roll and then Anime, Video Games, and Heavy Metal.
Cyaloom
Well, I grew up with mostly Rock music (for example, Green Day, Linkin Park and, above all, U2). I remember listening to Nirvana tapes on my dad's car, or watching music videos on MTV at the time "Vertigo" and "American Idiot" were being first aired. And if that wasn't enough, my family also introduced many other groups to me, like Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode, Toto, Guns'n'roses... Then I discovered the radio and Internet and I got to know a whole new world of music, including my favourite band I always get back to, the Offspring. Deleted User
Madden Soundtracks were how I found most of the music I ended up getting into until about highschool. Pandora is nice for that now. It seems it won't put a playlist here on the forum.

ZEL
My dad likes Rock and some genres of Metal, so as a kindergarten kid I really enjoyed the likes of Uriah Heep, Rammstein and the Scorpions. Lady In Black by Uriah Heep was my favourite song until my teens (and I still love it).I also remember the one or other Nightwish song, though I honestly don't know if it was my dad or my sister who was into that. As a teenager I had a brief phase where I listened a lot to German Punk Rock, which I'll blame my sister for. Alarmsignal, Fahnenflucht, WIZO, Terrorgruppe, and of course also Die Toten Hosen. Eventually my preferences shifted a little more to Melodic Hardcore, like Strike Anywhere, Ignite, Pennywise, or the older Rise Against stuff.I got back into Metal again when I was around 14/15. I'd never stopped listening to the bands I liked as a child, but started finding more, and different bands and genres to enjoy. Equilibrium are one of the first bands that caught my interest, and eventually I got into Power Metal. Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Edguy, Keldian, those sorts of things. And then my first boyfriend got me into Death Metal and I discovered the joy that is Melodeath. Scar Symmetry is my favourite band by far. Soilwork. Disarmonia Mundi, Dark Tranquillity, Akrea, At The Gates, Arch Enemy... Good stuff. Very good. That said, of course I listen to other genres as well. Listing absolutely everything I like would take too darn long. But I guess if I gotta mention some others I enjoy, that'd include Celldweller, Pendulum, Enya, Madonna, Phil Collins, Two Steps From Hell, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Nero... For most things, I enjoy the music more superficially. The Metal scene is the only music-based subculture I am and have ever been part of. It's a good one, though! I like my annual share of festivals and concerts, it's a great way for me to meet other people without the intent of staying in contact. Ironbound
As a kid, I grew up listening to classical Carnatic instrumental and vocal Ragas, with some exposure to Hindustani and considerable exposure to Western Classical and Baroque. It wasn't until a few years ago that I progressed beyond the 19th Century, haha...but by then my tastes had already been formed.
Arkhi
country Like Jericho, a lot of what I listened to growing up came from games. It might be surprising, but I grew up listening to a lot of rock. Listening to it again does take me back a ways. I love this one especially ...huh, I really did listen to a lot of rock. I miss it.
