Praise The Sun... and Moon - Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon

If this thing also gets Will-o-Wisp (which it should since every fire type does) it's gonna be a nightmare for both fat mons AND physical sweepers!

''so this thing is x4 weak to EQ? Let's switch in my physical attacker or (insert fat ground type) into this!'' <- smart choice...

By its design I think it will be very fragile, so it needs to be very fast to Toxic or Will-o-Wisp something.

OR it will get more bulky with the evolutions.

For some reason Salandit remembers me of Heatmor (?)

Alola pokemon aren't even out and i'm already loving them
Along VIkivolt this little dude Salandit IS GOING on my team! Hell yea

Honestly i wouldn't mind him being a single stage evolution cause he looks so damn cool, but if he evolves (god i hope they don't screw it up and keep it simple and stick to Salandit's original base desing) i can see it being a 3 stage thing and kinda resemble Krookodile perhaps

Well, it said it can poison all types... So I'm guessing it only takes the type into consideration. Which means I think pokemon with immunity won't be able to be poisoned, since it's an ability blocking it, not the typing.

So far I'm really satisfied with what Gen7 is bringing to us competitive wise, as well as design wise too!

All the new abilities (NO, ofc I'm not counting Lunaala's and Solgaleo's) are really cool and bring innovation to the new metagame. They also give unique characteristics to the pokemon, like Comatose shows Komala's sleepy personality etc.

All the new exotic pokemon seems to have given the opportunity to Gamefreak to create and give us even more unique typing that we wanted all these years! So far it seems so promising that I've got high hopes fot the new gen. I would be really disapointed if they miss the opportunity to create a big region pokedex with a vast variety of designs and typings :D

I just realized that if you change the D in Drampa's name to a G, it's Grampa

And Drampa does have kind of an old man look . o .

Have you not heard that Drampa is Foxxy Grampa?

Alright...so I just now saw all the new Pokemon....there are some I like and some I don't.

Starting with ones I don't like....Bruxish and Drampa look......bizarre. The new abilities are neat...but I'm not digging the combination of sharp incisors and....glamor. Drampa's design doesn't match it's ability to me...if it's going to be a grandpa dragon, and it's ability is Beserk..it should look Beserk...

I like the Grubbin line, the not-starter bird pokemon with Skill Link....and Donald Trumpgoose.

So uh, I can't help but notice it's still not technically confirmed Mega Evolution is gonna be happening in this game. And those things on the trainer's wrists aren't mega stones... They're not seriously gonna let Mawile go back to being a pile of trash are they?

They wouldn't introduce a new mechanic that drastically changes the whole metagame, only to drop it in the next generation. You can be 100% sure more mega evolutions will be introduced, but since we're just learning about the new pokemon of the region, they are not the main focus. Besides, they need to keep this information hidden for the announcements just before the game release to maximize hype (and sales).

It's nice to introduce new abilities, but I'm worried they will overdo it, and generally weak stuff will be forced to never make use of their unique characteristics out of fear of breaking their corresponding tiers.

Gen 6 introduced about 20+ abilities, most of which were exclusive to gen 6 mons only. I do not want this to be the case with gen 7.

I realized I haven't given my thoughts on these mons in this thread either, so here's where I think they'll stand in the competitive scene as of what we know about them right now. Legendaries not included... yet.

Again, these aren't final. As more info comes out, this post will be edited with my thoughts on the new pokemon revealed and evolutions if there are any for the ones detailed above.

I agree with most of these, but Qwilfish is not bad. It has a support role with Intimidate and Hazards, so even if it cannot provide much offensively, it can be placed in a team. The same cannot be said about Lumineon, Luvdisk or Baskulin (which you only see as banded in randoms).

There is more to it than that.

^All these thoughts are based on assuming the leaks are real, otherwise what's the reason for a speculation thread :P

Does the fact that these leaks are being deleted/taken down increase the chances of them being real? I think a lot of the fake rumors and art don't get the take down treatment.

That's the only reason why fans think these leaks (or part of them) might be real. Other than that, they would have been treated as all the other fake leaks...

The popplio and rowlet [pressumed] fake leaked final forms I absolutely love, but I despise litten's, in many ways. Not only because wrestling (eeeew, imo...), but implicit fire/fighting, no justification for humanoid-ness in the line's progression whatsoever and horrid wrestling-esque belt of fire thing. If litten really does end like that it will be the first and most likely only disappointment reaction I'll have towards the pokemon franchise for this gen.

However, I don't really believe these, as cool as that siren popplio thing looks to me. I had seen these same supposed leaks in know your meme (in the pokemon image gallery) last month and the pics are still there, were never taken down and I suspect they won't.

Plus, I have a hard time believing there are no gyms. I find it too risky a move, and GF are generally cowards in innovation within their storytelling.

So yeah, for once, I hope at least 80% of these are actual fakes.

Just a fact: every fire type starter, except the chinise zodiac connection, they are all bipedals! Even those who started at 4 legs like Cyndaquil, Tepig and Fenekin at their final stage stood up at 2 legs :/
