Dartrix and Torracat look nothing like their final evolutions, but you never know. The one thing I am surprised with is that Torracat is the FIRST Fire-type starter to walk on four legs, rather than two. The starters all look pretty cool, though I'm still liking Dartrix and Torracat more. No new Alolan forms, but we DID get confirmation of Mega Evolution returning, and it's the Z-Ring that gives that feature too! What's even more amazing is that Ash-Greninja is confirmed. I'm surprised it is literally called Ash-Greninja, because that is literally the first time the games mention Ash at all. The new features look pretty cool, but the new Pokemon, Mega Evolution, and Ash-Greninja were pretty much the highlight of today's news. It seems strange, but I'll take it if it evolves into the leaked version. Litten's evolution is my favorite of the three. I'm really not sure what I think of Popplio's evolution.- Festival Plaza: seems cool. It seems like it's the union room from gen 4 but on a much bigger, online scale. I'll have to see ehat we can do when the game comes out.- Pokepellago: A way to get items and pokemon. It seems to be an in game version of gen 5's dream world. Maybe we can even get hidden abilities this way.- Mega Evolution: Finally. People who actually thought they were getting rid of megas can shut up. From the looks of things, we are only getting old megas, not any new ones. Mega evolution works by also using the Z-Bracelet, and are also once per battle. We are also apparently going to have to work for those mega stones, as several of them cost 64 BP.- Demo Version: I'm really excited about this. Let's just hope Game Freak learned their lesson from the ORAS demo and don't include the entire game's information in demo.- Ash-Greninja: We get for completing the demo, similar to Mega Glalie/Steelix in the ORAS demo. Greninja gets a new ability called Battle Bond that activates once you defeat a pokemon. It's form change lasts the rest of the battle. The fire bell is quite original and is just adorable. MINE. - Brionne: meh. - Festival plaza I don't know how to feel about it. That pp up and ev training looks nice though. - Poke pelago will finally make me feel less bad about stashing my pokemon. - Mega evolution: as expected, that draco meteor looks sic though. - demo version: Greninja's battle bond a new abilty?Cool. *mega evolution starts* no, nonono, not him. Rowlet keeps up the archer theme by going from sharpened feathers to darts, Litten's mid evolution has the same markings and wears the fire belt around his neck (and his description on the website is about punching), and Popplio's is... On a side note, maybe that Team Skull person is actually another player, because they don't have the face mask. We might actually get to wear Team Skull's clothes, but that's wishful thinking. Also I agree with the final starter evos being all but confirmed. They all very much look like the transition stage between the starters and their final forms. I'm not as fond of Datrix, but it isn't bad. It's cool that you can do something with Pokemon in the PC now, instead of just leaving them in storage. The Festival Plaza also looks like it could be fun. Also, Greninja already has a hidden ability, so how exactly will Battle Bond work? Is it exclusive to this specific Greninja somehow? Swampellow Posted October 4, 2016 Share Posted October 4, 2016 The starter designs sure seem to be going the way of the leaked ones, but coupled with the fact that the secret behind the starters may be split evolutions, which would be great in my opinion. Kinda meh about everything else, the plaza seems like Join Avenue and the PC thing is like the dream world. What I don't like about it, is that they didn't even bother to at least change the name. ash has had no relation to the games at all, so I'm just confused that their keeping it like that. We also don't know if its stats change in this form, although it should as its like darmanitan's zen mode. I'm pretty sure that is the "rainbow" greninja that came up a few weeks ago. It was a completely valid point due to the fact that no new Megas were coming out and how long it had been without any news or hints at all (until Sina and Dexio showed up to tease it) that there was no "confirmation" of it being in the game. If it holds to just putting the feature in the game and not adding new megas....That's somewhat disappointing for me. There's a few starter evolution lines that would like some attention at the very least. --- #CatPunch. I wouldn't mind if Litten ends up another firefighter, personally. (Fighting is one of my favorite types though.) It's a race between Litten and Rowlet for me. Popplio is much too frilly and....a Water type.... --- Pokepelago and the Friend festival thing look to be potentially useful in various areas, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for finding hidden ability Pokemon. Yet. I was kinda hoping a feature like the DexNav would return for that kind of stuff, anyway. --- I don't really care all that much for Ash-Greninja, but if the Demo is free to play, there's no reason not to play it and get it. NickCrash Posted October 4, 2016 Share Posted October 4, 2016 This is quite interesting and finally the games look promising. With the exception of Ash-Greninja, everything else looks remarkable. The starter evolutions are much better looking that all other pokemon we've seen so far, only outshined in cuteness by their pre-evolutions. Rowlet's evo appears to be an upper-class young man who has green leafy hair, while Popplio's evo takes on more on the feminine side. Litten's evo seems to have potential, and bear in mind that going physical doesn't mean it can't be Dark type. It would make nice contrast with Houndoom, so I'm looking forward to it. As Chase said, it will be disappointing to just include all megas we already know. As far as I am concerned, they are beginning the hype for mega evolutions so they could reveal new ones in the following weeks, and my bet is on M-Flygon being revealed a week before the release of the demo, to maximize hype. What would be even more interesting is to hide certain megas, so people will have a nice surprize by finding a completely new one by chance while playing the game. That feeling of exploration is hard to experience when all information about the game is already released months ago. Besides, the fact that the Z-ring is what initiates both the Z moves and the Mega Evolutions may hint that in competitive battling, you'd be able to either use a Z move or a Mega but not both. Based off on what we saw today it seems to start wear something like a dress. Rowlet looks like an upperclassman from a prep school based on its hair design, so maybe its final evolution might look like a scholar. than we have Litten who looks a lot like a Bobcat in appearance. But I still cant see its final form as a wrestler when its second form doesn't even show a little resemblance to it. Which might make the 2 evolutionary designs more possible. also did anyone see that float stone? a new evolution stone confirmed? It would show they pay attention to smaller details. Speaking of, anyone else notice Ash-Greninja actually throws the shuriken on its back when using Water Shuriken.
