If we are really gonna be dealing with alchemy, then maybe we should consider the Azoth ritual ?

http://www.azothalchemy.org/azoth_ritual.htm

It's a lot to read but it has some interesting stuff

How long until Nintendo announces the games' place on the timeline? If it's directly after ORAS it makes my little Hoenn theory a million times more likely to be true.

what page was that on?

Umm, never? They never really gave us any information about timelines aside from hints in the games themselves(e.g. A Plasma grunt in BW1 talking about Team Rocket's and Team Galactic's failures).

There's actually an official timeline, but then there was ORAS with the multiverses too

Interesting how Firered/Leafgreen take place around the time of ORAS, I was always under the implication that around that point there was one and only one pokemon league

That's a mistake because the post says RS and the boxes show ORAs.. It's supposed to show ruby and sapphire instead. ORAS and XY are a different timeline to the rest of the games

We need more Water/Rock and Rock/Flying fossils anyway. NOT.

Tiki would be fun, although Nosepass and Nigel Thornberry sort of take up that spot (not really, since they're based on the Moai, but still.) However, it's not like GF doesn't repeat things, and it'd be cool to have a Rock/Ghost fossil.

I'm hoping we get a Rock/Fire lava lizard, with the whole volcano motif. It's actually a good offensive type, so if it is fast and has decent power and movepool it'd be fine (just that defensively that typing is horrendous; look at poor Magcargo.)

Yeah, I'm hoping one of the fossils turns out to be Fire/Rock too. A theoretical tiki Pokemon could definitely be Rock/Ghost. Considering how Hawaii is known for volcanoes, this might be a good opportunity to have a healthy Fire Pokemon selection towards the start of the game.

I'm more interested in the potential for the 'mascot bird' for this generation, though. GameFreak knows people responded pretty well to the Talonflame line for not being your standard Flying/Normal type. I hope this time around, they model the standard mascot bird after hummingbirds. Maybe Electric/Flying.

It looked more like a woodpecker to me, but seeing as that could conceivably only be Grass/Flying, and we already have Rowlet for that, I'm inclined to think that the notion of it being a hummingbird is not out of the way. Electric/Flying can make sense, yes, but so could Fairy/Flying or even pure Flying. It shpuld have access to good moves like Giga Drain and Hyper Voice if it's a hummingbird, so let's see how it goes. Maybe it'll get Pixilate, too. Sprightly little Fairy bird and all that.

Well, just checked Serebii, and sure enough, Corocoro is leaked. Unfortunately, there is no news for Sun and Moon, and the only thing that's said about those games is that we'll get news NEXT month, and claims that itself to be the Pokemon Main Source for the news. Considering how there was a pattern of no news from Corocoro, I highly think this is likely not the case.

It's possible that we won't get any fossil pokemon this generation. I know it hasn't happened since gen 2, and gen 2 was a glorified expansion of gen 1 in a lot of ways but Hawaii is geologically very recent. There aren't a lot of reliable sources online that give an age of Hawaii's initial formation but after a bit of digging it seems like Hawaii not only post dates the dinosaurs, but it even post dates humans. At the very least the place isn't exactly known for fossil deposits.

I thought last month, Corocoro had said there would be a 'huge scoop' this time?

Yeah I'm pretty sure last month didn't get us all "hyped" for NOT claiming that they'll have a huge scoop on SunMoon...and surely enough, this is ridiculous and funny at the same time, just how many months have passed with coro promising news and giving us sh*t . Good thing they would have only repeated info anyway

That's exactly why I claim that the possible fossils will be Avian or Marine, since they have immigrated to the region or died and their bodies were moved there, probably sunk to an active volcano and enclosed in stone.

Quick Q. Is it worth buying a 2ds/3ds just for this game - and possibly the other pokemon games that came out on these models?

I ask since it seems like there won't ever be a 3ds emulator, but then I really have no idea how much life is left in the 3ds model before a newer model is released

That is a possibility, but I think it is a little remote; we know GF likes the fossil mechanic enough to keep bunging more and more mons at us. It's not necessarily true that fossils have to be prehistoric; the youngest fossils date back to the Holocene (that's only about 12000 years ago) in which case it can be supposed that a recent enough eruption could have buried some unfortunate lizard and fossilized it over the centuries.

Besides, this is merely a hypothesis. I feel GF will hardly use such rarefied logic in deciding fossil availability; on the contrary, it knows we love 'em so it will be looking for an excuse to bung as many mons as it can towards us. Granted, the number of new Pokémon are reducing and they do indeed claim that they want to tone them down and instead do new stuff with older mons (probably more Megas) but the concept of a fossil pair is so firmly a part of all games (save gen2 for the reasons you stated) that it is unlikely GF will not give them to us this time aeound., despite the likely smallness of the roster.

Also, GF has been following a rough trend of more and more 'evolved' animals as fossils: from trilobites and ammonites, to sea lilies and bugs, to aquatic reptiles, terrestrial Triassic and early Jurassic dinosaurs and even down to Cretaceous raptors (and BURD.) Granted, they are not in order of generations, but the trend is noticeable. We may then reasonably expect more recent fossils, like perhaps a fossilized mammal or something.

Right now I have a 2ds and XY and ORAS has ran pretty good on it, im also running hyrule legends and have hardly had any lag rate issues that some people claim to have with the hordes of monsters flying in all the times. However its very possible that the next games after S&M will be changed to a new platform. But considering the price of consles it was easier for me to drop $100s on the 2ds. i did see it floating around 97 on walmart

I think the scoop was referring to the news we got 2 days ago.

No, you misunderstand. It's not that CoroCoro didn't say anything new, it's that it didn't say ANYTHING. It didn't even repeat the info from the trailer, it literally said "keep buying our magazines and eventually you'll get something, we swear"

I think they're referring to the newest excuse that's floating around that corocoro last month never stated the "scoop" would come from them :[keepitclean]: or some sh*t ... but that's a pretty lame excuse
