Monochrome_Complex
Ah the leaks were fake, would've been interesting but the fire/grass sunflora was a bit of a red flag looking back. And ew polos. I hope we can get actual shorts this time and not those silly dude capris.
Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted June 14, 2016 Global Mods Share Posted June 14, 2016 Would be awesome if Popplio becomes Water/Fairy. . o . Stakeout is a cool ability. It's basically Pursuit but with everything. And Soul Heart is a special Moxie that includes teammates. Pekipek is cute and Yungoos has a scary mouth. Grubbin kind of looks like a Bug/Ground Shelmet with pincers. The festival with the guardian deity whose name I can't remember seems interesting. I wonder if that guardian deity will make an appearance in game. I really like the looks of the Lass trainer. I wanted to show a friend, but unfortunately couldn't find any pics on the net besides one where the player is standing near her, which is a really zoomed out pic. mde2001
I'm a fan of a lot of the new pokemon, although Grubbin is a little bit meh to me. Hopefully it will evolve into something cool. Battle royal looks interesting as well. What I'm no so sure about it the display of effective, not very effective and so on. It seems a little unnecessary to me, but I doubt it is going to decrease my enjoyment so I'm not upset that is is there.
Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted June 14, 2016 Global Mods Share Posted June 14, 2016 So I'm reading info on Pokebeach and apparently the developers said Solgaleo and Lunala will tie in to the story in a unique way not done before, and also that Zygarde will be involved in a special way. So there's something for all of us wondering why Zygarde didn't get a Z game.
Jmanultrax1
So solgaleo and lunala get new forms. These are radiant sun phase and full moon phase. Their isn't any information on how to activate these forms, but im guessing it has to do with those bracelets in the previous leaks. Magearna's ability soul heart activates whenever a pokemon in the area faints. (hopefull this only works for partners, because this seems broken) pikipek having skill link is really interesting, hopefully it has more moves for this other than fury attack. yungoos. with stakeout this thing can hurt if it has decent stats. being able to do double damage with any move on someone who switches in is very powerful. Then we have grubbing. Not much is known about it besides it descripton and ability. Im guessing it might be our second bug/electric type. Im guessing based on it description where it says "it loves electricity, which is why it can be found near power plants and substations." Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted June 15, 2016 Global Mods Share Posted June 15, 2016 Yeah, at first I thought it looked kind of Bug/Ground, but after reading that description I think it'll become Bug/Electric.
YinYang9705
It'll definitely become a beetle though https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asiatic_rhinoceros_beetle The adult http://lh4.ggpht.com/GSUW8zBokcRloTI10QEd6r_g1w2bxz1boUaGu5ARYZqD_hterSRxR4BkLZiP9lECxDmaY4jo_olHmtqBArKc=s580 The larva the only image with grubbin I could find had was hilariously long so I'm not gonna link that, instead I'll say the larva has the exact same colors as grubbin. Masquerain
Tfw I ended up getting spoiled again.. I guess everything is dangerous on the interwebz But anyway, may as well just give my 2 cents on E3 Customization confirmed \o/ Goodbye chicken hat. I hope there's hairstyle customization too though.. To think they managed to find a new way to hold our hands throughout our adventure... Commendable... I hope you can turn off that crap feature that tells you whether moves are NVE or SE. Everything else is optional as it seems. Overall cool battle UI though. It even tells you what button to press in order to pick up an item.. I hope that's only part of some tutorial phase.. They also let you know in advance if a trainer is actually a trainer waiting to battle you... Come on... sigh .. I still can't get over my disappointment of the fact trainers in the background are soulless hollow shells of a body. At least the pokemon look more alive. Speaking of pokemon.. new pokemanz: The WIP bird which indeed turned out to be a woodpecker. I quite like that one. I wonder what it will eventually evolve into since it evolves twice.. It can't stay a woodpecker ...can it? Also it's mentioned to hurl seeds .. wonder if that hints to another grass/flying in the future? I imagine at the very least it's gonna learn bullet seed. Yungoos- the Donald Trump pokeman. Really though that patch of fur on its head... can't unsee anymore. I can't stand those teeth though.. I hope its evolution remedies that part of the pokemon. It seems to have a cool new ability at least. Its background info indicates that it's not native to Alola and was brought in to deal with overpopulation of another pokemon. (Much like mongoose in Hawaii was brought in to deal with field mice overpopulation but in the end both animals ended up overpopulating due to one being nocturnal and the other being diurnal and ...more or less missing each other) I suppose this is just a baseless dex entry and they won't do much about it since Corphish was also claimed to not be native to Hoenn but they never did sh*t with that. Needless to say, yet another dex entry implying this pokemon was brought here to murder another species of pokemon. Woop o/ Grubbin- its background info is kind of split and can hint towards a future bug/ground or bug/electric evo... At this point I'm not sure which one they'd go for since both seem to be evenly emphasized.. We did not see this bug on route 1 so maybe it's not the "obligatory" 1st route bug of the region.. I mean we did have joltik in Unova as opposed to the earlier bugs and whatnot. Anyway, its name implies its going to be a beetle when it evolves. I'm kind of disappointed about that, I wanted another centipede. It could have been cool, but alas, a grub is mainly the larva of a future beetle, and "grubbing" is also another word for digging... That kind of again hints towards a ground typing but we'll see. Either way, ground/bug or ele/bug are better than the usual poisonbug or flyingbug. I'm not super fond of the design so far. Onto story/character stuff/map/etc We learn that Alola's theme is "life/sustaining life" like Kalos had the theme of beauty. If that doesn't add fuel to alchemy, ionno what does. Vague, but interesting and has potential. We also learn that the Alola legend mascots will play a key part in the story in a way that has never been done before. That sounds interesting. They also said Zygarde will be in the games in a special way, just like Magiana will also be in the games, but we don't know just yet whether that hints our return to Kalos or whether they'll be part of the main SunMoon story. The placement of our house is quite weird as going left (or right from the PC's perspective) leads directly to the big city based on Honolulu. I imagine it's blocked at the start though. I like the way scenery looks as you walk. The battles and the wild battle bgm are nice. Piano/ music keyboard can be heard in most bgms so far. I do hope the routes don't remain as barren as some of these look.. They should add more details to some places imo as opposed to just..grass all around. But hey, it's just route 1 so can't really judge. All I know is that sunset scenery looks beautiful and I'll probably be playing this game at sunset/nighttime because daytime is boring as hell. Apparently, we as the player are going to a festival in the first town- a festival that is played in honor of one of the 4 guardian pokemanz of each island. I'd say that info alone already indicates that we will have a ..quite..tribal.. element to the story of this region. My ritualistic/cultist alchemy train is still going, even if it slowed down We learn from e3 that this festival takes place 1 day after we have actually started our adventure.. So apparently we start the game with that scene where Kukui welcomes us, then we choose our starter and apparently somewhere between then and he day of the festival, we as the player (and our friendrival Hau) witnessed the island guardian Tapu Koko (some Sacred/Holy Blood meaning to these words apparently). That seems like a fresher way to start a game. We also learn that Lillie is not a pokemon trainer and that something in her bag makes a pew noise (could it be the rotom dex which you get from her eventually? There are theories floating around that she keeps Magiana in her bag). While Masuda said she is not a pokemon trainer, but will join you on your adventure, I don't think it completely rules out her becoming a trainer later on. They wouldn't spoil it just yet, just like they refused to talk about the bracelet or story elements in general. We now know for sure old region mon are found in the wild. We saw a wild ledyba and Hau owns a Pichu. He is introduced to be the grandson of the kahuna ( I suppose that means village chief, i.e. Hala). I don't like his personality from what I've seen and I don't like his battle bgm.. Can't take him or it seriously. There is still the matter of whether we'll only have one rival or more. Hau picks the starter weak to our own, but Lillie is not a trainer (yet?) and there's no mention of the opposite-sex player being a npc in the story yet.. I hope we're gonna have someone other than Hau as a rival anyway, because Hau is underwhelming so far. As for our starter.. if we assume that everything they use during footage has 0 IVs and stuff, then does that mean both Popplio and Rowlet have high base hp? We see that popplio had 26 hp at lvl 7. Usually starters get 30hp at lv10. During the showcase of battle royale mode, we saw a lv5 rowlet with more hp than usual as well. No idea if it means anything, but we'll see. Apparently Popplio learns Disarming Voice at level 8. Does that mean it's going to be Water/Fairy? Nope, it doesn't. Starters often get early moves that don't belong to any of their types. However, I have to say, I no longer imagine a Water/Fighting final evo.. It just doesn't sit well in my mind that a future fighting type is going to learn something like Disarming Voice.. It's..so to say.. mismatched. Starters usually learn moves that fit the animal/characteristics of the starter. Disarming Voice sure doesn't sound like anything characteristic of a future fighter. That said, after this, I now have stronger beliefs/hope that those "starter type leaks" are not meant to indicate future starter typings. All in all, after this E3, I see a lot of potential for Sun and Moon. At the very least, I believe they will be better than stuff like Kanto and Kalos, and at best, they can match Unova. Time will tell what the future has in store for us. I still fail to count more than 10 towns on this map, though.. so I really think we'll be going back to Kalos or ..have SOMETHING more than what we see. Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted June 16, 2016 Global Mods Share Posted June 16, 2016 I don't really think the telling players move effectiveness is handholding, since most people who aren't completely new to Pokemon know the type chart anyway. The game telling me what I already know isn't going to make it easier. And new players would probably just look up effectiveness on the internet, so this just saves them a few seconds of searching and reaching a conclusion they would've reached either way. I agree about Hau, though. I find it kind of odd we've only been shown one rival, who uses the type weak to ours, and it doesn't seem like anyone else was present at the starter choosing. You could be right about Lillie becoming a trainer later on but either way, I hope there's more than just Hau.

It has skill link as secondary ability, so it is not a stretch to say that it will get bullet seed, i mean Cinccino is barely related to seeds(although its inspiration is drawn from chinchilla which indeed eat seeds) and it gets bullet seed. It would be fun if it really turns out to be grass/flying evolution because woodpeckers prey on insect aka bug type, getting a grass typing upon evolution would mean neutralizing its flying type as a predator to bug, i love the irony of it

You could be right about Lillie becoming a trainer later on but either way, I hope there's more than just Hau. That was more like my own personal remark on the feature.. I wish to be able to turn it off, because it takes away the element of utilizing your brain activity in remembering the type chart, also eliminates chances of messing up and using a move you thought would be SE, but wasnt. In that regard, You know... whatever adds "challenge" to a battle and stuff..I view it as handholding or rather, a brainpower-hindering feature. I won't have much issues with it since I remember my type chart either way, but it's going to be meh if I can't turn it off.. For the rivals...well so far in every game, we meet our future rivals rather early on in the game. It doesn't have to be always at the very start, but close enough.. If Hau is the only one, though.. that would kinda mean that they decided it's too hard for kids to have a rival that picks a starter countering yours ) ..... Geez, that sounds even lamer .. Ugh, let's hope we simply haven't met everyone yet.. we did hardly see any actual part of the story It has skill link as secondary ability, so it is not a stretch to say that it will get bullet seed, i mean Cinccino is barely related to seeds(although its inspiration is drawn from chinchilla which indeed eat seeds) and it gets bullet seed. I hope. But if Rowlet is already grass/flying, it'd be kinda weird to have 2 pokemon that are birds and have the same typing... Maybe it will stay a boring normal/flying.. Hope not. YinYang9705
Daze your thinking way to hard about the rival, as it's tradition your primary rival gets the starter that's super effective against yours. The fact that Hau gets the starter weak to yours means two thing, one, that the starters, well, start of with a stab attack like in gen6, and two, that someone else is the primary rival. Maybe that blonde girl who works for the professor. Or we get two rivals like in Black and White? who knows.
