GameFreak however, is no stranger to disappointing decisions. As for Nightruff, I can hardly believe they'll make a Rock/Fairy as it messes up with the nature of the Werewolf. Sure X4 weak to ... steel could hint to silver, but a type that resists steel and perhaps an ability that either nullifies or decreases damage from Steel attacks also makes sense, to emphasize how iron is not silver thus ineffective against Werewolves. The "power of the sun/moon" could also hint to an in-game event that's essential for the Legendary pokemon's form changes (those marks on their heads), so don't be 100% certain it's a simple day/night evolution. Pausing it long enough shows small rotation of the earth and you'll see Italy, meaning Perfect Zygarde is seen in Kalos. Perhaps a cameo of Kalos is still possible in Sun and Moon? Passimian's Receiver gives it an ally's ability when it faints. This could be used in doubles and triples really well. Oranguru's move Instruct makes the target use it's most recent move again. Both of them can work in vgc I guess. It's confirmed that Rockruff's evo is version exclusive. Midday Lycanroc evolves due to "Solgaleo's Influence" and Midnight Lycanroc evolves due to "Lunala's Influence" They both remain pure Rock types as well. The official website says that only Midday can learn Accelrock, not Midnight They seem to have taken customization to another level Poke Refresh is like Amie I guess. I won't really use it though The Eevee Z move seems overpowered. I mean, a +2 boost to every stat. Is Adaptability Eviolite Eevee a thing now? There will at least be Eevee + Baton Pass. Also Pokemon Bank will not be updated until January assuming they don't delay it again. You won't be able to send pokemon from Gen 1 Virtual Console to Gen 6. Receiver is cool, I do hope passimian learns skill swap and u-turn. Instruct seems like an interesting take on helping hand, I wonder what it will do with z- moves. But the aplication seems very wide: double damage, double stat boost (2* quiver/dragon/sword dance or even charge beam), moves like lava plume will now have 51% chance to inflict a status. The version evolution makes me wonder what will happen with the starters. It might make me buy sun instead of moon. Yeah for more customization, time to look just fabalous. So Amie can heal statusses in the wild? Well, that lowers the amount of restore items I will need to buy. Well extreme evo-burst seems fun (evo burst, last resort will hurt) but does the fact that oly the old eevelutions are being used that there are no new eevolutions this or any gen? A few months ago, there was a Japanese trailer that showed Eevee's pokedex page, which confirmed that it only has 8 evolutions. This video also outright states that there is no new one. It should totally insta-kill the enemy AND get all those boosts - because of the cuteness-overload. (it also reminded me of Mega Mans Ultra Smash in... well... Sm4sh) *sigh* and here I thought Pikachu wouldn't get something special this generation, since we got Alolan-Raichu... but noooooooooo... and I hereby request someone to trade me a Midday-Form of Lycanroc That Instruct move seems REALLY interesting. and it seems those monkeys are Double-battle specialist and oh my god... Swampellow Posted September 20, 2016 Share Posted September 20, 2016 (edited) Honestly all of it is great, I am somewhat sad doggo forms are version exclusives, but it's not a huge deal as I am getting both anyway. Also Sand Rush for day form is cool, gives it a possible place on sand teams, plus stab priority, so goodbye talonflame. The monkeys are really cool, with one of them being based off a rugby monkey, which gives even more credibility to those leaks from a while back. The Z-moves are pretty cool, I think that eevee's is crazy good, maybe we will actually see just eevee used in some higher tiers than LC from it. It seems like Instruct is kind of like a reverse Disable. I think it's kind of inconvenient that Rockruff's evo forms are version exclusive...especially since I'm still trying to decide which one I like more. In the customization where they were changing hair color, I noticed violet was in the options. One thing I didn't like in XY's customization was not being able to choose unnatural hair colors. Will the guys in smogon implement the Z-moves in regular play? Almost anyone hates that the Orbs can be used alongside megas. Time will tell. Perhaps it's time for some of the older players to retire. Shame. Will they announce new megas, now that it's roughly 2 months before the official release date? Do older pokemon get those new abilities and moves? Will Ame implement the new pokemon in Reborn, so people who don't have that much money to waste on buying either one or both versions be able to use them in campaign? I would bank on it happening rather than not. Has Mega Evolution even been confirmed for Sun and Moon? Dunno Knowing Ame - it won't happen soon - but if precedent holds it will happen eventually. Well Eevee would only really be a serious threat in the likes of LC, tier shift, and maybe PU/NU if supported properly. Its base stats are pretty "eh," but +2 to everything does make it viable in lower tiers, especially if they follow the Mega Ray trend and make it so the stone for the Z-move only has to be in the bracelet thing, clearing a spot for Eviolite or maybe a Silk Scarf/LO. It won't stay in LC once that Z-move is released, or, at the very least, they'll ban its Z-move just because a Pawniard-Eevee core would kill literally everything in LC. On a subject that is not Eevee, I really like the Orangutan (greatly impacted by the fact that Orangutans are my second favorite animal after wolves). I am a little disappointed that people keep bringing up the Harambe meme instead of discussing the majesty and intriguing case that this pokemon truly is I really can't say I am surprised by people continually bringing up Harambe, but I am still dissapointed! For example: this is from the offical Pokemon Sun and Moon website. CHAMPION Oranguru would like to battle! I am hoping it has a hidden ability that would allow it to use items such as Potions as held items similar to how berries work, but we'll just have to see. Plus, it looks like it probably has lackluster speed, making it a solid Pokemon for Trick Room in VGC 2017 thanks to Telepathy allowing its partner to spam all the Multi target moves it desires without having to worry at all. Not to mention Normal/Psychic is great typing which hits most things hard, while only having two weaknesses in Bug and Dark. That would not stop them from nicknaming them, but there's little harm there. On a side-note, does the Lemur pokemon's ability only work on ally pokemon? Apparently they are improving the doubles format this generation, with so many new abilities that work well in tandem with each other, but the singles format should not be neglected.
